big dilemma. I took about 1000 photos while on vacation to WDW two years ago. It was the fiance's first time there, so we went nuts. I now have two full (post bound) scrapbooks only using less than half of the photos taken.
This summer we are going on a disney cruise with 4 days in disney for our honeymoon.

What is the average number of photos used in one scrapbook, and how many layouts should i reserve my scrapbook too? Right now, Im considering having a disney and seperate cruise book for the honeymoon.
Help

I won't be helpful. LOL
All my disney trips are 2 stuffed albums, averaging 10 photos per 2 page layout. DH takes on average 5000 photos per 10 day trip.

I don't think there is really a right or wrong way to do things. It's really a personal decision. How many pics do you average on a page?

How about picking a theme, either ABC, or pairs since there is the 2 of you now. It might make it easier.

Have you thought about going digital to reduce the bulkiness?

You'd love my house. Our first Disney trip albums is actually 2 hugely overstuffed albums. I think there is at least 125 pages in each album. OUr second trip isn't done yet, but it's going to be another 2 album trip.

I digitally scrapped our cruise from this summer so I could put tons of pictures per page, and it was 80 total pages! Right now I'm digitally scrapping DD's birthday trip, once again so I can just cram tons of pictures on each page, and it's going to be huge too.

I like pictures

I take a bunch of pictures too, but I only pick a few for each page to scrap. I usually delete those I don't like and put all the others in a photo album as well. So I end up with 2 or 3 photo albums and a big scrapbook for each trip :)

I've gone blended - scrapped pages interspersed with divided album pages. Still, my two week cruise ran to two albums, and I haven't done the disney part of the trip - and may not. (I probably have 20 disney scrapbooks, 10 cruise albums, and another 10-20 photo albums of unscrapped disney photos, two binders of negatives (pre digital) and thousands of computer photo files - all Disney.)

Currently mine are stuffed so I am of no help... I don't care how big or how small.. as long as I can scrap the photos I want too that is all that matters... ;)

I'm trying to follow Lindababe's lend and utilize some blended scrapbooking pages... for our 2008 trip and the next one in June.. however, I have not gotten very far w/ using the blended pages, I forget about them.. so to eliminate that problem, the pages sit on the peg board in front of my scrapping desk.

I'm no help either. I usually average 4 albums per Disney trip. Our first Disney cruise, I took LOTS of pictures. I didn't think we would ever be able to go back again and I wanted to remember EVERYTHING! And then I scrapped EVERYTHING. That trip was a combo of WDW and the cruise....a total of 7 albums.
And surprisingly, we were able to go back again....but I am SO NOT doing that many pages again! Sad to say, I'll probably still end up doing the average 4 albums...lol
As long as I still have room in my house....it doesn't matter to me how many albums I have.

thanks for the advice - i was beginning to think i was going overboard. thankfully, i just got my cricut as i was finishing this album, so the next one will be so much easier and faster, and a lot less expensive lol.

thank you

I was getting tired of having overstuffed albums. For our 2006 cruise I decided to do it by day and just put a couple of the best pictures of what we did that day. I decided to expand that idea and for our yearly album in 2009 I decided to pick just one or two pictures that represented something we did that month. I used the Cricut to cut out the name of the month. Some months we had a lot going on and I ended up with 4 or 6 pages, but mostly it's just 1 page per month. In the "old days" I'd have 4 or 6 pages per event! I'm nearly out of storage space for my albums so I have to cut back  The ones I don't scrap I have on the computer (and backed-up) and usually don't even print them.

Alot of times we go for 2 weeks(1 week DCL/1 week WDW) so I usually just have 1 for each leg of the trip. I though the more I went on these trips- the less pics I would take- definitely not the case. :rolleyes1

Buffy, can I see one of your pages that has 10+ pictures on it? I can't imagine how you do that....

Take your time, I know everything's crazy right now, so it's not that important.

I thought I was the only one that had 3 - 4 huge overstuffed albums per Disney (or any other major) trip!

When I am very old and cannot do the things I want to do - I will sit in my rocking chair and look through my scrapbooks and remember that I had a great life with people I love.:thumbsup2
At least that's the plan.

Well, I haven't even ever gone to WDW and I have 3 albums! :rotfl2:

I'm planning our first family trip in August and I've already bought 3, but think I will go back for 1 more (I got the WeR 3-ring style, love those albums). Plan to do 1 ablum for:

*MK (spending 2 days there with 2 little kids - I'm sure to take TONS of pix)
*Epcot (again, 2 days there)
*AK and DHS will share 1 album (1 day each park)
*hotel (staying at POP), swimming, DTD, character meals, misc. travel photos, anything we do outside the parks

I usually stuff my albums as well, so I'm trying to keep them a managable size and still be able to scrap it all! The albums can hold about 40-50 pages per, so I'm hoping that will be enough for me to get all my pictures on! Better for me to break it into multiple albums instead of 2 albums that are bursting!

Let me just say that we have been to WDW many times and I STILL take tons of pictures. It seems whenever I get home and look at what I have, I always find something that I should have taken a picture of. Other than character pictures, I don't have many duplicates. Yet, somehow I still manage to have 4 albums per trip! While I'm scrapping the previous trip, I'm already thinking about pages for the NEXT trip. Then of course, it doesn't help that they keep coming out with newer and nicer papers and stickers too!

Your trip sounds awesome! And I am so jealous! We won't be able to go again for a couple of years. Looking forward to hearing how you liked it!
