Wealth is defined by a MYRIAD of things in this life...and some (most) more precious than the greenbacks which are truly a "means to an end." Debbie...sending more PD & Prayers for you and your family too. It's times like this...which clearly place life in perspective. When I get stressed over the little things (Dishwasher on the Fritz...TV "acting up" and the pool cleaner had to be replaced...etc.), I realize how SILLY they truly are...compared with what life is REALLY about (people).

steveanddonna~Thanks for the Kleenex...you are always such a thoughtful lizard! We'll have to share some more cheerful memories in this lounge...to help alleviate the stress associated with these events our dear friends are experiencing.
Kleenex and memories are much better than any drug/alcohol!

Hi Lounge Lizards! We have just returned from our vacation and here is our mini CL review:

We are 2 grownups age 47 and an 8 year old child. We travel quite a bit and do appreciate nice accommodations and fine dining. We do, however, put up with quite a lot and let many smaller inconveniences go. With that introduction, we give you our general reviews re our recent stay at WDW:

We spent 4 nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge concierege followed by 2 nights at the Beach Club concierge. Here is our review in a nutshell:

AKL CL - Loved it!!!! The hotel is amazing! I want the "smell" piped into my house. To anyone who hasn't been there, I strongly recommend it! We were not sure we would like this hotel based on the photos we saw online, but the photos truly fail to give justice to the hotel. It is soothing, sophisticated and magical. The concierge staff is wonderful. The lounge is relaxing and its food and beverage offerings are simply fantastic. We really appreciated the AKL concierge food offerings after we transferred to the Beach Club

Beach Club CL - What a let down after AKL concierge. The hotel was noisy in general and in obvious need of refurbishment. The rug in our room had noticeable stains as did the bed covers. The lobby and our room looked dingy and it was not just because of the "shabby chic" ambiance of the hotel. While the room was somewhat larger than the AKL room that we had, the AKL wins hands down in the theming and ambiance.

The BC concierge food offerings were a very big disappointment after the AKL's. The BC's offerings in the evening hours tended to be of the cheese and crackers variety instead of the wonderful assortment of appetizers offered by the AKL from Boma and Jiko. In addition, the Beach Club concierge had limited hours of operation and you had to ask the often absent concierge lounge staff for soft drinks which were "hidden" from the guests in some back room rather than readily available as in the case of the AKL concierge. If we ever go back to WDW, we will make sure it is at the AKL CL. If anyone has specific questions about the differences between the two experiences, please PM me.

WELCOME BACK to the LIZARD LOUNGE, TEDMOM!!!!

Yup! Even though BC CL was nice and we got a great room...
it IS a little bit of a let-down after the AKL CL.
I have to agree about that one!

Like I've said before...we get Christmas cards from the AKL and Poly CL...so that'll tell you who my favs are!

But, I bet the WL CL will be added onto my list next month, too!

I look at it this way....apples and oranges!

I truely love the CL experience at WDW no matter which resort I'm staying, but we do have our favorites, no doubt about that one!

Euphoric recall...that SMELL from AKL! I just LOVE it!

It's been a busy week with DS's therapies. We've had to double up on them this week since we'll be on vacation starting Fri. Haven't had much time for anything else (including DD ).

But today, I start FULL PACKING MODE!!!! I got their backpacks filled with snacks and toys as of this morning. (Bob the Builder and Teletubbies).

2 more days and we'll be on that plane!!!

I'm glad AKL was yet another huge hit! From the way things sound, AKL is a tough act to follow. I'm doing WL right after AKL, but I have to keep in mind to separate the two when I switch over. I like each of them for different reasons. I'm sorry BC didn't pan out like you had planned. BTW, did you happen to see if they could give you another room since it was not satisfactory?

Here's a question I'm sure someone will be able to help me out with.
When you have IPO make PS's, do they give you a confirmation #? I have had them make a few for me so far but haven't been given one for any of the restaurants. Just curious what everyone else has experienced with this.

The IPO will e-mail a copy of your PS itinerary--just write and ask for it. It's no problem for them to do it and it contains all of your PS confirmation #s. They will also print it out for you upon arrival if you wish.

I see you're getting close--the way time flies, our vacation will be here before you know it!

luckywife - yes, usually after they get all your PS's finished, they will email you an itinerary with all your PS's listed. Did you email or call? If they emailed you, check and see if there is an attachment to your email, it may be there. It took me a couple times of reading my email from Aida to realize there was an itinerary attachment!

If they haven't sent it, just ask, they will send you a printout with your PS's listed. Really nice!

WoodysRoundup - You're heading out in a couple days!! So exciting!! I just got off the phone with CRO, got an AP discount applied for my July trip, but this time it is a flat $85/night discount, instead of a percentage of your room rate! So, the more expensive your room, the less discount you actually get! Oh, well, I'll take it!

Ok guys, thanks for the help and advice. I just looked at my newest email from IPO and didn't see any attachments. I emailed them to ask about our PS at Rainforest Cafe in DTD. Marilyn wrote me back and said that there isn't a confirmation # for that, the reservation will be in our last name.
I hadn't ever heard of that before. Then again, I've never done ANYTHING like this before either. Confused but really enjoying myself!

edited to add...going to email IPO and ask for a list of our PS's and confirmation #'s. Thanks for information everyone!
