How many of ya'll been "bitten" by the Concierge "bug"!

Well, I've been playing around on the WDW website getting prices, and I've made up a little chart comparing AKL, Poly, CBR, and ASRM, prices, levels and seasons! :D Talk about fun!

Is anyone here a Florida Resident? I am, and when I called WDW today to find out what the FL discount averages, I was told around 30% off. Is this accurate? Reason I'm asking is, I had asked the CM in this manner, "What is the Florida discount, around 30% off?" and she pretty much just repeated it back to me, "Yes, around 30%off."

I'm a little disappointed. .I was hoping for at least 40% :teeth:

Anyway, the most expensive was the Poly in October for 409.70 per night for CL, followed by AKL @ 374.64/night.

In Value season I came up with --Poly @ 366.86/night and AKL @331.70/night for CL.

Geez, when I write it down like that, it seems a little nuts, eh? I think what I'm going to do is just save as much $$ as I can this year and go from there!;

Thanks for letting me ramble. . . ;)

You guys are the BEST!!

I've been reading all the posts on the last two pages...and LMAO!
The "humor" which comes through is absolutely RICH & PRICELESS. Thanks, for making my day. ::yes:: We must all remember, not only are the "lounge" walls paper thin....but some actually have EARS! (LOL). Isn't there something about "attracting more bees with honey?" Well, they never considered the size of these STINGERS!!! :teeth:

Concierge, Club level, plush robes, slippers, even butlers...(gasp), all my personal cup of tea. I enjoy such perks, as I do not have the luxury of having these appointments at my beck and call every day (not that I would ever attest to that!). Returning to a suite, after a day in the Orlando summer humidity...to discover the beds freshly changed and "turned-down" with delicious chocolates on the pillow/bed, the A/C adjusted...the music or T.V. softly emitting sounds...the lights dimmed, and the MOOD set for PURE REST & RELAXATION! YES...It suits my needs 100+%, no bones about it. ;)

The lizards whom frequent this thread, are not pretentious, elitist...or anything of the sort. You are all sincere, genuine and very helpful to anyone visiting this thread. You are attentive and mannered hosts. I enjoy your company more than I can express. It is a pleasure to know each one of you...and an honor to be associated with such a fine group of decent, caring people. :grouphug: Knowing you...makes HOPE possible.

Thanks...for clearing the smoke...and putting everything in perspective. "I can see clearly now (the rain is gone)....La...La...La...:rockband: :charac2:

*Goodferry~Great news! You have nerves of STEEL! I have often pondered doing such a thing for a "hop" here or there (before a flight, etc). Yet, I always end up calling a "regular" and reserving on the phone. Same reason I never use all the free points for other credit cards (I have so many...I can't keep track), and resorts, etc. I tend to use the same "few" and ignore all the rest. It seems to take too much of my time to research all the benefits/gifts offered! I'd nearly have to hire someone to take advantage of these perks. LOL. I'm so happy you were successful! Now...I may give it a try. :)

Oh my, I was falling out of my chair laughing at my h, while he was trying to ignore Goofy, while Goofy was shaking his butt at my h! He just hates being in the spotlight! LOL!
My DH too!~But, he LOVES kissing me. And when he gets to give me "18" of them, all at once...he'll forget all about the spotlight! (LOL). :love2:

:happy2:

I couldn't resist......your last post (about DH was soooo cute!!!! :goodvibes )

Also, your other post was so beautifully stated - about this thread and the wonderful, helpful people on it. BRAVO!!!! :flower3:

Now, that is about the sweetest thing I've heard. . how romantic! :lovestruc

Good morning all! Well, I am up early, didn't get much sleep due to dd (10 months) and her ear infection.
DF99--I was a nervous wreck booking that room, it's the first time I have done anything like that.
Woody--are you packed?? Don't forget that sunscreen! You are traveling with your kids and mil if I remember correctly. Three words for you DON'T FORGET TYLENOL :hyper:

"Geez, when I write it down like that, it seems a little nuts, eh? I think what I'm going to do is just save as much $$ as I can this year and go from there!;"
LOL, it does seem ridiculous!!! But worth it, of course :teeth:

DF99 - Awwwwwwww.....! That is so sweet!

goodferry Yes, we are staying at the Poly - it's enough of a departure for DH to be requesting the 1st floor instead of 2nd! Can't make too many changes at once. You are so brave to do the Hotwire thing. I love booking our other vacations online - even did our whole Japan/Thailand trip through online companies, but I hate not knowing what I'm booking. I guess I'm a bit of a control freak.
BTW, thanks for your positive reinforcement on the "other" thread. I can't believe I went there again to look!!!!! I get so frustrated - it seems the anti-concierge posters are the ones making the rude comments and unflattering implications, but the pro-concierge folks are the villains. How's that work?

HURRAY! for WoodysRoundup! You are practically on your way!

Just to add our experience to the rehitching stories-Last April 2003 we were celebrating our 22 Anniversary-DH and the kids knew nothing about the rehitching. They performed the "ceremony" and then we had to kiss to 100. (they counted a slow count from 1 to 10 and then by 10's after that). You should have seen all their faces-I don't know who was more embarassed, DH or the kids (teens). Now DH is ever leary about going anywhere without knowing what's going on (he's been part of a few impromptu shows-not of my doing but he swears I had a hand in them). It's definitely gotten him to participate in the "planning" of subsequent WDW visits (really honey! I had nothing to do with your last "show" at the Adventurers Club!) Do you think he believes me?

Thanks for the dessert-I'll put out the wine and cheese for today (or would you prefer a cold beer on the balcony?)

mom_rules- what a GREAT rehitching story!
I wouldn't be surprised if my DH isn't a bit leary going anyplace with me after our "ceremony." I'm sure he'll be sweating bullets once he realizes what's going on :hyper:

we want to booking our honeymoon on the concierge at ak the week after thankgiveing any one been there this time? and with the new 5/7 deal (if they extentend it )or any deal will we be able to apply this to the concierge stay?:thewave:

jazznms - I don't know much about the FTP from last year, and the upcoming 7/5 deal, but I've read many posts where people have booked concierge with this deal, so you should be able to, if it's not sold out.

DD and I were at WDW last Dec. 8-13, and it was a wonderful time of year to see the World!! The Christmas decorations were up, the special Christmas activities were in full swing, just a lovely time all around. You're gonna love it!!::yes::  Be sure to see the Candlelight Processional at Epcot, and if budget allows, do Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, that was a great deal, IMO!!:sunny:

HAS ANYONE STAYED AT THE YC CONCIERGE LATELY? I WAS WONDERING IF TRAVIS IS STILL WORKING THERE. WE STAYED LAST YEAR AND HE WAS THE BEST. IF HE IS THERE I WILL GO BACK IF NOT I MAY TRY TH POLY AGAIN.

JKELLY - Welcome!! BT has just been to YC concierge, and a couple others, so somebody should be along to answer your question! Bambi always seems to get on a first-name basis with all the cm's, so I know she will be able to tell you!;)

We did the rehitching ceremony during the ice cream social last July for our 10th anniversary and they did it the same way. We were then presented with a cake and a certificate. It was not a surprise in our case, since I organized it and my wife, children and parents all knew it was coming. However, I was not aware how much audience participation there was going to be - they invited all tables within earshot to watch and join in... It was definitely worth doing and helped make our anniversary trip memorable (of course, the stay in AKL CL and Poly CL helped a lot too!) :D

dreamflight...I LOVE it! What a sweet, heart-warming story!

mom_rules and Mike_in FL...thanks for the re-hitching tale! I'm going to request that for our Sept Anniv trip! No doubt! DH would LOVE it!
LOL!

JKELLY...WELCOME TO THE LIZARD LOUNGE!!!
Also...Mike_in_FL!!!!

Travis wasn't there this last March trip, but he'll be back soon.
He'd broken his arm, so he should be back this month.

His picture is in the third pic on my YC CL photo webpage.
YC CL photos!
You can also access my recent BC CL and AKL Wanyama safari pics, too!

Travis is WONDERFUL!!!! Really makes a fabulous stay at the YC/BC when you're there. But, just an FYI...they have him bouncing back and forth between the YC and BC CL's.
In fact, I'm going to email him today and ask how he's doing and if he's already back at work!
:earsboy:

jazznms...WELCOME TO THE LOUNGE ALSO!!!
Those concierge rooms can be had on those packages but they go fast! So CALL, CALL, CALL!!!:wave2:

LOL!kac'smom! Yes, I LOVE our CL CMs!!! It's nice to get to know them while you're there. Make friends with them! They WILL be there for you on your return....I PROMISE!!!::yes::

I know that VAgal and I wouldn't have gotten that Wanyama safari (that included our DS's) if it wasn't for my relationship with the GM and the CL staff.
::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Take care of them and they will take care of you!
I know from personal experience! I wait on my ladies at my boutique and they are always bringing me gifts, etc....and of course, I take VERY good care of them!
I'm even a personal "shopper" for several when I go to market.
Those are the special touches that I give them and they keep coming back instead of going to the new mall !
Personalized service is the true essence of pampering!

One of the first things I teach my staff is to remember our clients' names and little things...DH's name, profession, children names and ages, etc. Write these down and refresh your memory!

The most wonderful thing a person LOVES to hear is their NAME being said! Think about it!
I call these IPO CMs and they even know my voice! LOL!!!:teeth:

And there's nothing like returning to your favorite CL.....

BambiTambi thank u for the warm welcome. It if funny I am trying to get use to this website and how to use it. If you have a way of getting me Travis' e-mail I would love to write to him. I had his e-mail and misplaced it.Sorry to hear about his arm. I thought he was absolutely incredible. He made our trip. I am going to check out the picture my kids will love it.

We usually always do concierge and love it. Have have done YC the last two time and am thinking of going to the Poly this time.
I would love to know if Travis knew where he was going to be the first week of Sept. He is worth the trip at any hotel.
