How many Mr. Potato Head Parts Can U fit?

Do they still offer the boxes? It sounds like the potato shaped container is hard to fit items in. We have filled up many boxes and can't wait to get the new items.

I wasn't even interested in Mr. PH until I found this thread. Now I can't wait to go to that store! It's going to be so fun!

Yes they do and I am addicted to finding new pieces every trip. Did I mention i am 50 years old. LOL I get new boxes every year for my grandchildren and a new box for me.

I think that this has been said, but make sure you get the arms that hold things. We can always use all the great parts because we only have 1 "holding arm". Also, be sure to have simple parts (ears) before you go. We are down to only one ear:confused3 .

I couldn't get my family into this when we went in June. but my DD6 did get a princess jewerly box she could stuff with rings/bracelets/necklances for $16. We stuffed 28 pieces inside! I thought that was a good deal.

Yes, they still have the boxes, but for all the new stuff I needed it was cheaper for me to just get the big Mr. Potato Head. You can get one of each Disney related item into three boxes, plus little stuff around it, or you can get one of each Disney related item plus lots and LOTS of little stuff around it for cheaper.

That's why I went with the big guy.

How much is the Big Empty MPH to fill?

It looks like you got a lot of pieces! I have about 4 boxes worth, and I'm not allowed to come home with another box, no matter how many new pieces there are!

But I love the giant container! My nephew has a MPH set that came like that, but I've never been able to find it.

Boxes are around $20, right? I know prices went up right after my last trip.

I want to know how much the large potato head bucket is as well. Also any one have news on when the new parts will be released?

what store did ya find this in and oh yea what park? Thanks

The princess boxes were in the Princess Room of the World of Disney Store in DTD.

They also had a create your own wand, which I thought was pricey for what you got. (just a wand, no challenge of stuffing in as many pieces as possible:rolleyes1 )

In the piratey-boys area of the Word of Disney Store, they had a fill your own treasure chest or skull with spider rings, eye balls, bugs, tattoos, etc.

Oh, and there's the make your own lightsaber display in Once Upon a Toy store in DTD.

Disney marketing really hit it big with these build and fill things!

The best selection of potato head parts is at the World of Disney Store at Downtown Disney, although you will find them in some of the resorts and at the parks as well.

Sorry it took me so long to post - I couldn't find my receipt!

The large Mr. Potato Head is $46.95, I think the boxes were $19.

The large guy is only at Once Upon a Toy, although there are other stores that carry a smaller selection of the pieces and sell the boxes. The Judge's Tent in Toon Town comes to mind.

As far as when new pieces are released, I have no idea. When we were last there in October, 2006, they didn't have the Tinkerbelle or Mary Poppins pieces, so I don't know if maybe they just do new pieces at the beginning of the summer?

We are a few days out from our return from WDW and just wanted to update those who care on the number of pieces you can get of the potato head in the large container... I let my daughter pick all of the ones she wanted and then DH kept her occupied while I packed that puppy to the brim. We got everything but the buzz lightyear body (she didn't care as long as we got the gun) and it all fit. That CM working at the Once upon a toy store wasn't quite as helpful as the CM at the other end of the store who helped with the pony stuff. She stuffed the box until I thought it would explode... after climbing up on the table to get 4 shoes from the top of the bin. Wish I would have gotten her name, VERY HELPFUL!!:thumbsup2

We happened to find the JUMBO sized Potato Head at Costco a few Christmas' ago. They seem to have them in the warehouse stores every holiday season. Last year was the Darth Tater jumbo head.

Ours came with two regular sized heads, and two baby heads, and some parts.

We got more parts at Disney last year in a box. We plan on getting another box full.

Our JUMBO head was maybe $15?? It wasn't much, b/c my friend called me and told me to go get it, and she's a huge cheapy!

We'll both be there next month boxes in hand. I tell ya what.. practicing shoving all the parts in the jumbo has given me practice! I can't wait to go back!

We did the big MPH when we were there in May. Since both kids wanted to each do a box, we wound up getting more pieces this way.

Here is a list of everything we fit into our big Mr. Potato Head:

Buzz Lightyear suit, shoes & laser gun
Ariel hair & mermaid outfit
Cinderella hair & glass slipper feet & glass slipper on pillow attachment (for the hand)
Mr. Incredible eyes, arms, suit & shoes
Mickey Mouse shoes
Minnie Mouse shoes & hair bow
Mickey wizard hat w/ears
Mickey nautical hat w/ears
2 pirate eyes w/eyepatch, pirate hat & 2 pirate ears w/earrings
Minnie Mouse princess hat w/ears
4 Mickey white gloves
Mickey Safari hat w/ears
Maleficent hat and staff
Peter Pan hat
black souvenir Mickey hat w/ears
Mickey Mouse sunglasses
Lots of random arms
2 magic wands
Pin trading lanyard
Lots of random noses & teeth
Folded paper hat
Mickey trick or treat bag
Souvenir camera
Mickey Mouse's suitcase
Large teddy bear

Make sure when you get arms & the Mickey Mouse gloves that you get a right & left. I didn't pay close attention to these and I came back home with 3 right gloves and 1 left.

We just let the kids pick what they wanted and then I sat in the floor and started filling it up. Make sure and put the eyes and arms in the big MPH's feet, you can fit a ton of those in those two spots. And, not sure if anyone even cares but I thought it was cute, even the big MPH's parts come off.

As far as it closing, the CM just told me that the hat had to twist on some -- it couldn't just sit on top.

** Don't waste your money and space on buying the heads, you can get them at Wal-Mart or somewhere. **

Oh my...this is something I wasn't expecting to get the excited over and now I can hardly stand the wait! I had no idea there was such an art to packing the boxes...thanks for all the tips!

I love potato head!!!
Does anyone know if they make parts for the smaller veggie heads?
We have a small potato, a carrot and a cob or corn.:cool1:

I bought the Halloween MPH the day after Halloween (clearance - woohoo!:cool1: ) for the sole purpose of having the body so we can go crazy getting the Disney parts! Now I'm even more excited after reading all that there is to stuff in the boxes. Thanks for all the info and the pictures!
