Ok, DS(9) has been on two previous cruises and has spent his fair share in the Lab and never recieved any parting "gift". I now heard they need to complete a specific number of "main events" to get one. So how many and what does he need to do? On average he only spends a few hours (maybe two at the most) in the clubs a day. We are on a family vacation after all, BUT he really would like to get something special left in the cabin... anyone know the details?

We just got back yesterday. They need to go to one of the two "main" eventst each day to get the gift. These are marked with a black Mickey head on the kids navigator you get at the club/lab. The gift for the lab was a bucket hat, it was pretty cool.
hope this helps.

wow two each day? that mean 14 events on our seven day cruise?!!!

We were on the 4 day last month. DS6 and DD10 spent a pretty good amount of time in the club/lab. On the last night, my DS and friends DS(who didn't spend much time there at all) were given a gift from the club (lunchbag and water bottle). They were definitely not keeping track of how many things the kids went to, just handing them out to whoever was there the last night. I went to inquire as to whether there was a gift for the lab but was told the lab was not giving out any gifts. I didn't expect any gift at all as I thought this was only on the 7 day anyway but it seemed like they just handed them out that last night and had my son not gone then, even though he had gone quite a bit for the 4 days, he would not have gotten anything.

No, diznynut said one of the two options. Six events total. They don't have "main" events on sailaway day. Actually, depending on the age group, you may have several more than two options from which to choose.

Thanks Dave-guess I need to slow down and read.(boy I feel like I am the one who should be in forth grade not DS :D )
he should be able to make one of the main events a day I think. Too bad he could not do two on one day and then skip a day if he wanted.

Thanks for the pic
I looked on Dave's site at the Navigator's. DS had already chosen quite a few activities he wants to attend and there was at least 1 a day he had chosen. There are quite a few choices with the 10-12 age group. Only problem is some go until 11pm and then the next day they begin again at 9am - no time for sleep. DS said dont worry about not sleeping -he'll catch up on the airplane ride home. (Now if I can just get DH excited for our cruise)
