How Many FASTPASSes Can I Get?

My family and I will be in Disney World on 8/24 - 9/1. There will be four of us (my wife and I along with our two daughters of 6 and 8). When we arrive at a park in the morning how many FASTPASSes can I get? I know I'll have to take all four of our keycards and get a FASTPASS for each of us but I'm wondering how many different rides I can get right away? Can I go right to Thunder Mountain and get 4 FASTPASSes and then go to The Jungle Cruise and get 4 more and then head to Space Mountain and get 4 more? I'm pretty sure there is a limit but I'm just not sure what it is. I'd love to find out the official ruling before we arrive in August so I can have a "gameplan". Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time!

There are lots of great resources for the Fastpass system, but essentially you can only have one "active" fast pass at a time. When that fast pass return time occurs or 2 hours (whichever is earlier) you can get another fastpass. For example: if you get SM as soon as you get there and the return time is 10:45, then you can get another fast pass after 10:45. If the return time is longer than 2 hours away then you have to wait two hours to get another one. You do not have to use the fastpass to get another one. Also, the fast pass themselves will tell you on the bottom when you are able to get another. Have fun!

it will tell you on the bottom of your FP when your next window is to get another one, and remember you don't need to use your ticket during your window. You can use it anytime after just NOT before fyi...

Just one at a time, no need to be greedy ;)

This and the previous reply are not true. You can get a new FP 2 hours after the previous one or when the return window for the previous one OPENS, whichever comes first. To make it simple, it will say at the bottom of your FP what time you can get another one. It is not only easy, but also wise to have more than one at the same time, especially in the morning when the FP return waits are shorter. This isn't greedy-WDW sets it up that way. Also, you should know that you can use a FP any time after the window opens on the same day (just not before). Therefore, you can collect FPs in the morning and ride standby while lines are short, then use your collected FPs later in the day while lines are long.

You can only get 1 per card.

On the FP there will be a time when the next FP is available.

That time is generally the return time of the first FP - OR - 2 hours later, whichever comes first.

Last month when I put in our cards to get Fastpasses for Pooh we got "bonus" fastpasses for Mickey's Philharmagic which we did use. So I guess technically we got two at the same exact time.

This has happened to us on a number of occasions (but not always) - I think they must do this to help manage lines in other parts of Fantasyland, or to encourage more people to visit Philharmagic on days when it's slow....

Right, so you can get another FP when your original one says to return and ride. For example it says return between 430 and 530. The CMs might let you return later then that, but that's not the official rule on it. You are supposed to be there only in that time frame. You can cheat the system if you want, but that's not how I am. I also don't steal drinks with an old refillable mug...

You have to wait till the time on your currrent fastpass expires to get more. Just a secret they except expired fastpasses. My mom and I do it

That's not true. It will say at the bottom of the fastpass "Another FASTPASS ticket will be available after XX:XX" and the time will usually be when the return window starts or 2 hours after you got the first one, whichever time comes first. For instance, I saved one that I didn't use that shows that I got it at 11:47 am and shows a return time of 2:57-3:57, and says that another fastpass ticket will be available at 1:50 pm.

Using FPs past the "return window" is not cheating. It is actually the official but unwritten rule.

FPs are good from the time they open til the park closes that day. CMs are trained to accept what some people refer to as "expired or late FPs" Technically they do not expire til end of that day. You can never use them early but always "late".

Many, many guests have been instructed to do just this by CMs.
I have never been turned away for using a FP after the window has closed.

OP-do read thru this link excellent FP info-

Sorry, "Official but unwritten" is bull. They may except them as to not put up a fight or whatever, but there is a return time there for a reason. Like I said, i'm not "One of those people" that cheats the system, good luck with that.

Have to side with the rest of the folks my friend.

It is there policy to accept FP's anytime after the return time, on the issue day.

Search these boards, and other websites as well. It's a very well known, every day occurrence.

If it was an official rule they would write it down. And if they really wanted it to be anytime after xx:xx the fast pass would not have "return between xx:xx and xx:xx" printed on the ticket. I think Disney prefers everyone return during the time frame printed on the FP but in the interest of making allowances for ride breakdowns and greasing the squeaky wheels they let this slide on most of the rides most of the time. From what I have read, there are certain very popular rides where the return window is enforced (I heard that was the case with Soarin' specifically but I imagine it would apply to any ride in high demand that runs out of FPs early in the day).

Just ask a CM. Really. They will tell you what the policy is. They are TRAINED on that policy. It isn't written down where WE can see it. It is in the training manual though according to the CMs.

If they really wanted you to show up during the window, then they'd at least tell people, "I see you are late, we'll accept it - but please try and return during the window." That's not what they say though. In fact, they quite often will tell people that it is perfectly fine to use it late - so long as it is the same day.

And there is NO ATTRACTION where they strictly enforce the return time currently.

When Soarin' was relatively new, it was more common (although it was NEVER constant) where CMs would not accept a late FP. And the attraction manager CAN tell the CMs not to accept them under certain circumstances, but that is very rare. The most common reason people are refused are that 1) their FPs are not valid at all (previous day, etc.) or 2) The CM is new and is not familiar with the policies and/or didn't pay much attention during training.

There are plenty of CMs on these boards, and not one has ever contradicted this - and this information came FROM the CMs and even higher ups.

And it really doesn't matter if you use them late: Why using a late FASTPASS doesn't matter!

But I know I will never convince anyone of this, and it doesn't matter, really - no one is forcing anyone to use their FPs late. Most guests want to rider sooner rather than later anyways. Feel free to use them when you want.

Its not cheating the system, but good luck with that whole being nasty and calling people names when they're doing NOTHING wrong.

Fastpass is accepted late because Disney knows it makes for a MUCH better guest experience to not have to use them only within the allotted time. As we have discussed numerous times just in the past few days, late fastpasses have no impact on lines. It all evens out. That's another reason Disney doesn't enforce it. Because it really doesn't matter.
