I just saw that FL residents can now buy AP's and pay through a payment plan. Just curious how many DVC folks would like this?? I wonder if we will ever get that option?? I would LOVE It.....because it is ROUGH buying 5 new passes. Just curious?

I would like it because I buy APs for my whole family. It would take a big expense that feels like a good chunk of a vacation cost and make it a very small bill.

I'd use the payment plan. Our passes expire mid July and I won't be renewing because it's just too much money to put out all at once. This means 13 months without Disney coming up - gonna be tough. If I had the APs you bet we'd go in Feb & I'd even buy more points to make it happen :lmao:

You have a trip planned soon!!! :goodvibes

Disnelyand also offers a payment plan for APs for Southern California residents, which we plan to use for the first time tomorrow! We will use our GAD vouchers as the down payment, then it is about $30 per month for the next 11 months. When we get to WDW in Oct, we will update these to Premier passes, with an additional OOP of $290 (assumign no price increase on the Premier between now and Oct).

It appears the Disney only offers these payment plans to "locals" because the most effective way to enforce them is by disabling the pass when payments are not made. So the target market needs to be people who travel mutliple times to the parks during the AP period. That may mean that many DVC owners would fit that target

Of course, the other side of the coin is whether Disney feels they need to give free interest to DVC member in order to get them to buy park tickets. Unfortunately, I am not sure that it the case. -- Suzanne

I would definitely join in the payment plan on APs. The $733 renewal was a hard pill to swallow. Had to do alot of side jobs and saving to get the money.

The So Cal people have had a payment plan on APs to Disneyland for about a year now. For me, as tempting as it might be, I see no difference between a payment plan and just saving that amount per month in advance. OK, well, the difference is that you either get the AP now or in a year.

But since we're trying to work on being patient and not using credit in our family now, delaying the APs, saving it up, and having the money to plunk down right then and there sounds better than owing Disney!

So if you have a year before your trip, set up your OWN payment plan to yourself. :) Side benefit being the interest you'll earn in your savings account!

I really think it would GO OVER very well with DVC people. I hope a little Disney birdie sees this thread. :rotfl2:

I would love it, shelling out our money for 2 AP's is rough:scared1:
Luckily we still get the DVC discount...Well I do, my fiance wont until we're married, is that right?

Yeah, I do :lmao: but I'm just worried about the 13 months of withdrawal that will follow. Having those APs would guarentee I'd toss in a mini trip at the very least even if it were at a mod. Right at the 11 month mark in Sept you can bet I'll be on the phone with MS so I can at least have a countdown going.:thumbsup2

Looks like you will be there around the same time as us! :goodvibes

We are leaving MD on Sunday the 11th driving straight through (staying at Buena Vista Suites that night). :scared1: We have not road tripped since Nov. 2002. :scared1: We are staying at Shades of Green for 2 nights, SSR for 7 and Vero for 4.

I think if you live at the same residence....he can. Correct me if I am wrong someone. I think if his I.D. has the same address as your I.D. maybe??

I vote YES as well. We do not use APs at this time, mainly due tot he large chunk of cash outlay required (it is easier to buy military passes at MWR right before the trip). If we could setup a Christmas type account, where we could pay $60/month (or so), then it would be easy to fit into the budget.

Too bad we can't get it mixed into our monthy dues (if requested), so the passes are lumped into one payment each month.

My husband and 2 sons are using the Salute Tickets this trip next month. He is getting 6 and each of them will have 2. Our dd and I are just getting 9 day park hoppers at SOG. It comes out cheaper than AP's because we are not sure about when our next trip will be and if EVERYONE will be on that next trip. DD will be 20 in Oct. DS 17 and DS 11 (well we know he will LOL).

A little pixie dust please!!! It would make mine, as well as so many others, life so much easier on a payment plan. AP's for a family takes a good chunck of change each year:scared1:

Life can be sooo stressful at times that something as simple as an DVC AP payment plan could ease the tension a bit in these tough times.....

First, Thanks for your service!

Those Salute to the Military tickets are fantastic, aren't they? Although military tickets are comparable (and sometimes cheaper), we would use the APs as many on here do: a way to make ourselves go more often ;) Right now, we average around 1-1/2 to 2 years between visits.

Ahhhh thanks. My husband got out of the Navy in 1998 after 12 years, but finished his time in the reserves and retired last summer. My dad and his dad are also both retired military. However he has worked for the gov't for the past 11years and served in Iraq twice with that job. :goodvibes

I am happy they have the salute tickets. Last year was a great deal.... member got a free one and then they were for 5 days. I wish this year they had offered 5 days.
