How many booked the "Special Deal"

Oh yes...one last note. There are only 16 of these rooms at BWI. Just a little factoid.
:)

thank you for that info! I was wondering how many of these rooms they have. i managed to snag next christmas at that rate 19th-26th. if they said you can have one night at that rate, i would take christmas eve!! but if they say none, so be it.

this is totally OT of the OT topic, but this thread has over 10, 300 views already since last night-I wonder if we can go for Guinness World Records here. :thumbsup2

How did Disney handle the SSR incident? I remember it happening, but I didn't follow it closely. I know that they honored it, but did they threaten to cancel the ressies?

I haven't really stepped back to look at the numbers, but isn't it weird that we all got the same rate (plus or minus however many people were in the room) regardless of season? I would have thought that would have made a difference in the price.

I had one of those rooms last year (booked through Travelocity). Had no problems whatsoever and Disney/Travelocity did not try to cancel my reservation. It was SSR for $35.

That is strange. I hadn't thought of it. I booked value but some got HOLIDAY!
That is awesome. I really don't thinj they are going to honor it and if they do they are sure not going to make it easy on us by combining the ressies. Don't you think that having to pack up the entire place everyday of your vacation is going to be a bit of a hassle?

I booked with serious reservations.....no pun intended. :rolleyes1

was this a "room only" res or a "pkg"; might be the difference/just the thing WDT needs to back out of these rooms.

It was a "room only" reservation.

It is possible that the SSR "glitch" was really not Disney's fault but travelocity's (I think was the booking company) fault and they paid Disney what they wanted and took the hit for public relations. This is very different. These are very special rooms (only a little over a dozen) that are very expensive. I could see Disney offering some offer but not honoring this one. BTW many of the HHI rooms are not being honored now.

There are 16 rooms and each was discounted $600. Let us assume that 20% of the rooms were taken before this was pulled. Then Disney would loose 16*365*$600*.2 = $700K. That is a lot for them to eat. They might offer a % off rake rate of the room or another Disney room as good will. The savings of $600/night would never be recouped via food and souveniers.

I don't think they'll make you move daily to be spitful. If they move you daily, they have to do a 'full housekeeping' (linen change, etc.) on each room. It is not to their advantage.

I'm reading these posts and yes some of paid $72 for 1 night but if your booking 7 days and have a family of 4 you still needed to pay for a 1 day ticket for each guest for each reservation.

Family of 4 staying at BWI special rate: $262 x 7 nights= $1834

Family of 4 staying at POP with 7d base ticket= $1682

Yes I know it's a suite and I'm comparing deluxe to value but you could save money by not doing the glitch rate and Disney gets the family to pay for one day passes. Maybe Disney will realize this too and let us keep the rate.

I can wish can't I :wizard:
Say you stayed for 7 nights. Took the 1 day ticket for each of you and turned it into a 7 day ticket for $553.80($152.29/adult and $124.61/child) more you get park entrance for the entire time and still keep 6 passes you could upgrade or use for your next vacation. Thus the total 7 nights would really cost you $553.80 + $262 = $816 for 7 nights hotel and park admission. A very cheap vacation indeed.

Bet someone from here that didn't figure it out called Disney!
I don't think it's a glitch. I think it is part of The Million Dream vacations! :thumbsup2
:rotfl: :lmao:

Yes they could upgrade 1 day of the tickets but they would still have 24 one day tickets left over so now they HAVE to return to use up all the tickets. ;)

Has anyone checked their online reservation?

Yes, mine are still there. Unfortunately, I was a little frazzled and missed one of my nights, then booked the last night twice. AAAAGHHH!!
