How long for Crystal Palace breakfast?

Deep down I think I already know our 8:15 am ADR won't work for our MK day but I thought I'd check.

I am checking multiple times a day to get this at the earliest time (8:05 no?) as we basically are doing CP to get into the park early (love that feeling of walking down Main Street to the restaurant, snapping pictures without too many people) and because my 13 year old son asks every trip to do a character breakfast. I say every year that THIS will be the last but I can't seem to deny this very unsentimental child his one childhood throwback!

What time will we be able to check in at the gate and be allowed into the park? If you've done this, did you have to wait a long time at the restaurant to be seated?
We don't really chow down at buffets like we should, but about how long should it take to see all the characters that come around (I know it depends on when you get seated during their rotation, but what was your experience?)
We probably won't be done in time to fully use our RD advantage will we? Or will we???

Thanks!:hyper:

We also have reservations for 8:15 for CP breakfast.

Never did this before so I am interested in seeing the replies.

We experienced this once (in 2010.) Our ADR was for 8:20. They have a long line outside the entrance tunnel into the MK for people who have ADRs or tours prior to park opening. They actually didn't even check when we got in line, but I've read they often do. Around 8:00 they started letting everyone into the park who had a reservation. We got to Crystal Palace around 8:05, checked in, and were seated around 8:25. Make sure to be around the restaurant entrance asap when you get there because the characters come out and do a welcome thing (didn't know to expect it, so I didn't have my camera ready :( ) We were finished eating and at the rope in Tomorrowland by 8:50. Something that was annoying, though, if you aren't standing RIGHT UP AGAINST the rope, people who arrive after you WILL push in front of you. Just be forewarned! We have an 8:15 ADR this year, so I'll be curious to see if it still works the same.

We had an 815 last year. We arrived about 745 and were about 20 people back in line. They started letting people in around 750ish. We casually strolled down main street, stopped for pic in front of the castle and checked in at 810. We were seat by 820 and were back out by 915 and that was seeing a couple of characters twice....so I think you should be just fine.

The last two years, we had ADR's around 8:05-8:10 and it worked out perfectly. We arrived about 15-20 mins before, got in no problem before rope drop. They did ask for our reservation numbers which I had printed out. There were no extra magic hours those mornings, and our pictures by the castle were perfect (less people in the park, barely anyone in the background of our photos!) The buffet was pretty good, the characters came around. I would say 45-60 mins is needed but you can finish sooner if you don't want to wait to see all the characters. The only thing was we felt they were a little slow seating us both times. For early reservations I would have expected a shorter wait. We waited 10-15 mins both times.
