I had a rather odd occurence happen with my mail last week So i thought I'd post here and see if this has happened to anybody else.

Last week my mom forwarded a bill to me that went to my old address. It was for a closed credit card and she mentioned it in a call to me and told me that she'd opened it. Well, I had a fit and told her to send it down. So she did, and it arrived here over the weekend. I opened it up and started to call the company when i started looking at the dates on the bill.

EVERYTHING about this bill is dated 2001!!!

This bill has been floating around the USPS for 2 years LOL. I figured that's gotta be some kind of record LOL.

So let's hear it: ever have anything like this happen to you?

From Boston to New York, it usually takes 2-3 days. I've had it take up to two weeks though.

I put two letters in the mail, both correctly addressed and with return addresses on them. One letter arrived two weeks later, the other one never got there. This was to the same town on Long Island, mind you.

My grandmother sends all of our christmas cards out for my two siblings and I at the same exact time. They hardly ever come the same day, in fact, mine has the habit of comming a few days later than the other two.

My boyfriends sister sent me a halloween card in the mail, and I still haven't received it.

I'm getting a little fusterated.

Two years is a long time though!

I had an ebay auction that I shipped and the person didn't get it. I had mailed it on XXX date and I knew I did. So we called the post office to try and track it but since I didn't insure or have deliever confirmation (bad Beth! Something I always do now!) they couldn't track it. So right about the time I was going to refund the money the package arrived ONE MONTH LATER and it was postmarked on the day I mailed it. We have no idea where it floated around for a month.

Its so weird sometimes I will get something in 2 days and then other times up to 2 weeks.

A few months ago at work, I had a letter returned - also from 2001! The person was requesting materials and never called me to tell me it hadn't been received.

This just happened to me!

My sister had borrowed my crinoline when she got married. Now my SIL wants to borrow it. So Sis shipped it to me 3-4 weeks ago! It just got here today.

Just yesterday she called the post office to see if they could find it. It seems that since they live in a small town they will ship the package where ever they have the most mail.

This package was going to WI. They had no other mail going that way so they sent it where they had the most mail. Could be any state! Who knows where this package has been. And the postal employee told my sis there was no way to prevent this.

We are still waiting for another package to arrive that she mailed a week after the first. Maybe it will get here by Christmas!

Last December I left the cable for my digital camera at home when I packed for WDW. I was new to digital and didn't think that I'd take that many pictures. Besides, I didn't have a laptop computer to download the photos to anyway. Well, after just one day, I realized that I had made a big mistake. Brisully and EpcotKilterFan both offered to store my photos for me if I could manage to get the cable sent from home. So my DW Sue packed the cable in a box and sent it USPS Priority Mail from our home in NE Ohio to the Beach Club Villas. And the cable arrived 8 days later. I'm not saying that 8 days holds a candle to a two year delay, but my wife paid dearly to send the package assuming that I would get it in two or three days. I have had ZERO luck with Priority Mail.

The sad part of your story is that, after two years, the piece of mail you get turns out to be a bill. It figures, doesn't it. Those darn bills always seem to manage to find they way "home", don't they.

during the whole anthrax thing we had some mail lost in the system for about 2 months.

They do don't they? Even bills that have already been paid(like this 1). I don't mind saying i nearly had hysterics thinking somebody stole my old identity in the past 3 months.

Nice to know I'm not the only 1 who has mail floating around somewhere in Postal Space.
