i've been tracking airfares from phila to mco for our trip next july and usually search us air's prices daily. right now for the times i would want its going to cost $375 per person r/t. then i started to look at other airlines, delta is way too high and united has me confused. seems that the exact times i would want from us air are on united's site with us airs flight #'s after their own flight #'s, essentially united is us air and the price is $176. so my question is "how is this possible"??? and if i book with united do i need to worry about us air filing bankrupsy.? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would book with United. If USAir stops flying, I believe United has to honor that ticket even though they were only code sharing.

They can still fly in bankrupcy (United is in bankrupcy right now), the problem is if they decide to liquidate.

I agree with Debbie. It is a codeshare so you should be in better shape if USAirways goes out of business.

If you are flying out of Philly or allentown I'd wait until next spring...or at least until Southwest or Southeast release there dates......

The airfare in Philly has been cheapest the closest you get to some dates.....11 months out for purchasing air fare is way to far...IMHO...

I would also wait until AirTran posts their schedules. They are pretty much in line with other discount carriers and are a pretty good airline.

thanks for all the replys. i heard there is going to be an announcement by the end of sept. by us air so i guess that could shed some light on the matter.
