I love the old Universal Monsters ~ Frankenstein, the Wolfman, Dracula etc... I was thinking of going to the Monster Cafe for lunch. How is the food?? Are there tables to eat at? Is it counterservice?? What is good there??? We are a family of 5 - we have 3 boys 9, 6 and 6.

The pasta I had was just ok. There are tables. Yes, it's counter service. There are old monster movie clips playing on monitors.

The Monster Cafe is open seasonally...not every day so you will need to check to make sure it's open when you arrive.

Was closed this weekend--end of July, healthy crowd. Is it becoming "seasonal" like Green Eggs n Ham? A shame if this is the case, in addition to being centrally located, it had some decent theming.

Unfortunately Green Eggs n Ham is closed permanently...as far as I know.

We were lucky enough to eat at the Monsters Cafe a few times before it went into this odd seasonal mode. The food wasn't great but the theming was a hoot. I've never understood why Universal doesn't push the monster characters more than they do.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you but don't expect much. The next time it will be open for sure is for HHN but I doubt it will be open before.

I haven't seen it open at all this year except for one day in March during Mardi Gras.

It's never been opened in the three times I 've been there...I always thought it would be open during the holidays. I figured they would need all the room they had. Does anyone know if there are plans to have it open this year during the holidays?

Sorry in advance...not trying to hijack your thread, just wondering.:)
