Sounds like a great thing to be picked up from the airport and have your luggage waiting on you at the resort. Is it a good thing or too good to be true? THANKS!princess:

Hi MyTigger&Eeyore,

You might have better responses on the Transportation board.

I personally think it is great and use it each time. I have always arrived at my resort in less than an hour and a half after landing. This is not always the case for everybody, but has been for us each time.

It is also a plus that it is free!!!

As a single mom traveling with 2 young kids, ME is a godsend! I don't have to touch my luggage until I'm settled into the room, don't have to worry about getting a car & loading it up & schlepping everything around, don't have to worry about getting lost. It's fast and easy and I HIGHLY recommend it!!

Magical Express is great, and you can't beat the cost! We have had excellent service every time and the whole process is getting more efficient every time and I think luggage delivery is also getting faster. Still, you should plan on luggage being delivered 3-4 hours after you do, so you may want to include swim items in carryon if you want to hit the pool when you arrive. Bell services is also excellent about storing your carryons if you want to to to the parks or DTD.

We love ME! We used it twice this year, in October and just a couple of weeks ago in December. We also used the airport check in at our resort since we were flying a participating airline. It worked great! :thumbsup2

DME is awesome - even if it may take a little longer than renting a car - it is free - and what the hey - I'm on vacation and am not in that big of a rush!

Ditto with the exception of only having gone in Oct. For us it was absolutely a good thing and not too good to be true. Flying a participating airline made it even better for going home, I too am a single mom of two. The only thing that I found even slightly challenging was finding the ME counter at the airport. I mean we had the map and we knew where we were going but I did stop and ask once, I think it was at the Avis counter, to make sure we were going the right way. We were, we just hadn't gone far enough yet. I think it was one of those cases where when you don't know exactly where you are going it seems to take forever to get there.

We loved it when we arrived (8hrs.late!). We told them Disney needs to buy an airline.:rotfl: They are sooo efficent. On the way back I suggest checking your luggage as early as possible. We did it after breakfast (9am or so) and it took 2 hours.

Used DME twice, LOVED it both times. Not at all too good to be true!

I'm one of the biggest cheerleeaders for DME here on the DIS.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

It was great the first time in Sept of 2005 but then in Aug 2006, we did not get our luggage til 11 pm and we arrived at 1:00pm. Apparently there were storms that shut down the airport!! HAPPENED on our way home too and we got STUCK in ATL!!! As a teacher I missed my first day back to work!! SORRY OT!!

Anyway....it was late and the kids were READY for bed and dh was getting anxious. I understand they have no control over weather and I was not too worried about it but they kept saying "your sure you put your tags on???" etc... UM YEAH...I would say, so that made me nervous, kwim??

Anyway I would suggest packing a carry on with swim suit, change of clothes and necessities JUST IN CASE!!!

ps. It turned out fine and I was happy to have someone deliver the luggage RIGHT to our room!!

In 2005, the luggage got there while we were partying in the MK and that was REALLY MAGICAL!!! It is awesome and too good to be true, ITA!

You can also check your luggage and get boarding passes RIGHT at your resort if you are flying certain airlines!! THATS also MAGICAL!!!:wizard:

Another :thumbsup2 for ME!

Just keep in mind that your luggage may take a few hours to get to your resort room.

It worked great for us ! We arrived at the airport very late. The "Welcome Center" was almost empty, it only took about 10mns from the time we found it until we were sitting in the bus. We were going to ASMO. The bus made stops at Sports, Music and finally Movies. All in all, it took about 45mns from the airport to Movies (this was at 1am).

We got our luggage early the next morning, no problem at all. I wish all the airports offered something like that!!

So on average how long before you get to the resorts? I'm staying at CSR this go around. How many resorts could possibly be sharing a bus?
