We live 1.050 miles from OKW. The drive normally takes us about 18 hours (thank goodness for 70 mph from Tennesee on!). We drive in the summer and fly in the winter.

We get 834 frequent flyer miles from PIT to MCO. We always fly, about 2 hours 15 min. That sometimes seems long, can't imagine driving!;)

Wow, I guess that I'm in the minority right now. I only live about 1.5 hours away, about 75 miles. Besides my DVC trips to WDW, we go at least once a month or so, either just for the day, or maybe for the weekend.

985 Miles from my front door to front gate of OKW.

I am not sure of the mileage but I have been told its a 11-12 hr drive depending on how fast you drive. I do know that it is 1hr. 45 mins. by air direct flight then a 20 min. ride "home" to VWL.

We are 1616 miles from WDW. I wanted to drive this past summer, but we got airfare under $200 a piece and were thrilled. South Dakota isn't known for great connections or fares. I would be happy if we didn't need to change planes for our trip down.

Since we are so far away, we typically go for two weeks during the summer. School schedules make summer time the easiest. When the older kids are out of high school, we hope to add an annual week at Christmas time too. Guess we will need to add points on again.

Allikat99 -- You're killing me here! So many weekends I say, sure do wish I could just run over to WDW. ;)

Mapquest puts me at 1,134 miles from my door to OKW!

Although we live in Canada we usually fly out of Detroit as it's faster and much less expensive. According to NWA's web site, our upcoming flight is 957 miles. From where we live in Ontario, it's likely we're about 1000 miles or so away. So do I click on the 900-1500 miles option, or do I click on Canada, because both are equally valid? Not all of Canada is Arctic wasteland - we're actually south of cities such as Seattle and Minneapolis.

Sigh. Just one of my pet peeves. :o

Mapquest tells me it's 1182 miles. I'm surprised by the number of us who are a good distance away. Makes the anticipation of getting there stretch out even more!

We're 985 miles away, as the crow flies. That's 1970 FF miles for each trip we take. :)

MikeJ -- No slight intended. I realize Canada is a large country and would have allowed many options for mileage. I should have taken the poll for a test run. As soon as I hit submit, I realized I should have set it up for multiple replies so we could have done country/region and distance at the same time. Live and learn. The next time a poll comes up the next person can try to be more accurate.

Some of us can't even get the poll to take our vote....so we can put in the narrative as you just did.

I checked the 901-1500 option. It's 1022 miles from our house to BCV. We prefer to fly since we have to take vacations in one-week blocks.

MikeJ- I grew up in Lancaster, NY so have been, of course, to 'the Falls'. I'm still fascinated with the Welland Canal and we took many family camping trips to Algonquin. Just beautiful!

About 1000 miles.....we drive, straight through on the way down, in 2 days on the way back. The drive generally takes us about 16-20 hours depending on stops and how the kids are doing. We do the drive down overnight because we can get the kids to sleep through most of it. On the way back we're generally not as excited and too tired to drive through the night (or, I am anyway, and I don't trust my dh to do the overnight leg of the drive....he falls asleep too easily! )

We stay at a Fairfield Inn in Florence SC on the way home....its just about halfway for us, but not quite. We generally linger in WDW on the day we leave....so we don't get as far that first day driving home.

I'm poll challenged, too!:(
From northern Michigan it's about 1200 miles to BWV, that's two nights going down, and it's a lovely drive. We used to drive down all the time, because we were convinced that it was the best way for our kids to understand the geography of the United States. After we became DVC members, we started flying because we took 2-3 trips a year, and it's just too much mileage to put on the car. Last week my daughter accepted a position with a division of United Airlines (a part that's not in Chapter11;) , and a perk includes free airfare for her parents:p so you can be sure that I am going to take good advantage of that perk!

Now, that's a thinking girl ;) Congratulations on her new job.
