Spring Direct Incentives 2/9-4/27

I have read all 50 pages. I want to buy 150 at PIVOT, stay in the longhouses or a studio in the tower, and eat my dolewhip.

Now if someone would just give me permission to set fire to my money i could get off this board and get busy! I own 100 resale okw points and then we stayed at the poly.....
do it, do it!! are you typically a studios person or a 1BD person? you mentioned the longhouses so guessing *not 1BD*. 150 pts won't go far at Poly, but if you prefer studios that will help stretch your points.
*typo in my original post!!
Permission granted! Sell those OKW points and buy all the Poly points you want! YOLO
agreed!!!! permission granted! nothing better than a dole whip overlooking seven seas lagoon!

We are about to empty nest so a studio will be just right.

Too old for direct points, college to pay for, early retirement in a few months, but I just keep trying to figure out how i can buy enough for a blue card. Why not, right? In for 175 a point in for 243....

Staying at beach club in july on okw points and pondering....

My SAP+ is my Aulani subsidized contracts. I adore Aulani and I love to stay there. I have enough points there that I can use them to stay other places too. Actually my CCV is used as SAP+ as well. I have stayed so many places with that CCV contract, even Aulani before I owned there. But if DVC shifted and I could only book my home resort of CCV I would be very happy there. Thats the +
Whoo team AUL-S! Personally I'd go BLT for my second SAP+ but you can't go wrong with CCV either. Picking AUL-S as our home resort was one of the best things we did. Without it there's absolutely no way we get week long stays at Aulani for 120 points in the hotel room.

It will be the same or more than RIV no chance it’s less. My bet is on more.
I think it'll be relatively close. Obviously higher than CCV but idk with it being such a large resort and having multiple stops if paired with CFW I could see it being slightly lower charts than RIV or equal? More likely equal or higher but I still can't rule out a verrrrry slight decrease from RIV. More likely though point chart inflation will push it over RIVs

If point charts are lower than RIV I can see myself buying it. Even if people don’t trust the trust.

I continued to buy direct long after I had reached blue card status because:
1. I wanted the points immediately
2a. I wanted my points freely usable at all current and future resorts.
2b. I wanted Riviera but did not want to be stuck there exclusively.
3. Paying the additional cost to get direct over resale didn't bother me.

ETA:
4. I didn't want to wait around for the right point total in the right use year to appear.
5. I wanted a specific FW at CCV.

Oooh...look at Money Bags over here! 🤣

Oh, I really don't trust the trust. Maybe it is fear of change or unknown. I might be extra skeptical because of trust points with other timeshares.

And I'm not sure how much I can trust the deeded properties because DVD can really skew things with expansions. For example, with VGF2, they added the all studio BPK building to the same association as VGF, significantly changing the ratio of studios, 1br, 2br, 3br. And when they added the bungalows to Poly, and then the very points expensive PIT room categories. And SSR Treehouse villas, but those are a much smaller percentage of the total points at SSR.

Some of these changes may work great for some owners, but it is notably changing things compared to what they initially bought into.

For me, the reason we bought direct was because resale at the resort we wanted (VDH) wasn't much cheaper. Plus, the resale points would be restricted to only VDH. So I will gladly pay a bit more for the ability to book all the current and future resorts.

Now, of course, WDW is an entirely different ball game than DLR. I only have resale points at BRV. I did look into direct BRV but the price difference was nuts and I definitely wouldn't pay that when there are plenty of resorts I can book with my BRV points.

I really think the main reason to purchase direct, for me, is just the ability to book whatever resort I want with those points. The "extras" like lounges, discounts, Sorcerer's pass are just a nice bonus but not a reason I would ever purchase direct.
I would buy the direct for the extras as a big reason because I just love the extras but id make sure to back that up with an awesome resort in case the ones I like fly away lol.

I wouldnt purchase direct banking on those extras saving me money for years to come however. It feels nice being fully in the club. Im more excited to go to wdw now for totwl, two other lounges, mickey and minnie in seasonal outfits and of course MM! If they go away tho im straight with my awesome resort that I love!
