How early do you need to get to Festival of the Lion King before a show?

How early do we need to get in line for the next Lion King show? How long is the show? We will be at AK the last full week of October and the crowd levels are not supposed to be very high that week.

You can walk up at show time if you like. Last October we were rushing from somewhere to catch the show, and were able to get a seat 5 min. after the show started. They took us in a different entrance to fill in one section of the theater. Easter week we lined up about 10 min. before the show, and had no trouble getting a seat. I don't recall that the theater was even filled...close, but I think they took some late comers.

I'd like to say that the earlier you get there the better choice of seats you have, but I'm not sure that is 100% true (it was the first time we saw it. Lined up about 25 min. before the show). They seem to try and distribute the crowd among the four sections, rather than guests just picking a spot. Since we pretty much walk up a few minutes before show time and simply go where they tell us to. Over Memorial Day weekend we were instructed to sit right up front to fill in a section.

The show lasts about 25 min. and well worth every second you'll spend there.

thanks for asking this i was wondering the same thing!

Can anyone tell me what are good seats here? I know some kids get picked to particiapate any seats that increase that chance?

hope you dont mind me piggy backing some questions on!

Think you got to be front row on one of the four sections and be really cute or animated. They do have people kind of directing the seating if it's busy which is why it doesn't matter when you get there. It may be different if it's not crowded.

I really don't think there's a bad seat in the FOTL theater. And my best tip for there is go to Camp Minnie Mickey while a show is going on, and you can get in very short or nonexisting lines for all the characters right there - Mickey, Minnie, Donald Goofy, and usually Chip and Dale and Pocohontas and Meeko - we also met Thumper and Miss Bunny there. Then you can go in to the next show with lots of time to spare. There are bathrooms and food stands right there as well (love my Micky head ice cream sandwich!).

Sitting up front is helpful, but if you're a little further back, try to put the child on the end of a row. I also believe they tend to pull from one end of the bleachers over the other. In other words, if you're sitting on the benches, they may tend to pull from the right-hand end over the left-hand end.

Whether or not your child is chosen, it's a fantastic show and one I won't miss if I'm at the Animal Kingdom. Enjoy!
