how do you thank castmembers?

I saw something about a family that handed out small "thank you" cards to castmembers who were extremely helpful to their family. They printed them with their names and date of travel.

My questions is, do you do anything "special" for cast members who are great?

I also remember something about a pin for them or something like that.

Can anyone help with this?

I am a CM but I will tell you what we do when we go to Disneyland... We buy little things, nothing major (for us it is usually something from a ride, attraction or park that we have that they don't) and we just give the stuff out when we see fit.

As for the pin, I have actually received one of the pins you are referring to and it was a total shock but made me realize why I do what I do... here is the web page for that if you are interested in going that route. The pin comes with a little card explaining to the CM what it is (and you can sign it) then when you return from your trip you can add that CM and your experience with them to the web page for everyone to see (if you want) I just went back and re-read mine (which was from 2002) and it still makes me cry...

I have also received little trinkets from peoples hometowns and just as you stated buisness type cards with a little thank you message on it. Whatever you decide will be meaning full to the CM that you give it to.

I've never thought of giving CMs anything to thank them. But I do always thank them. If I think a CM is doing a really good job I always make a point of singing their praises to guest relations before I leave or I do it online after I get home.

I just talked to a great CM at CRO. She went out of her way to to find the best dates and rates for our trip in Dec.. I got her Disney name and she forwarded me to a phone line where I left a message about her great service.

An internet friend of mine (thanks, Tagrel!) created Cast Member Appreciation cards that we personalized with our name and travel date. We handed out several in June as a special thank-you to CM's who really made our day. All the CM's were so surprised and seemed really happy when we handed them a card. It was a fun way to let the CM's know how much we appreciated their efforts to make our visit magical.

I'm going down in August and have purchased 3 'what would walt do' pin's and think it's a great idea. I have 1 for each kid and they will be able to choose which CM they want to give it too. I think it 's a great idea...
