How do you say YUM in Canadian? 7 Days on DxDP w/ pix! *COMPLETED 3/21*

I absolutely LOVED the key lime pie at Wolfgang Puck Cafe - mind you, the white chocolate cheesecake comes a VERY close second :thumbsup2

Hmm... sounds like I have a reason to take another Disney trip. :thumbsup2

Everything looks so good! We always end up cancelling WPC on all of our trips in favor of something else...now that I see pics...I may have to stick to my guns.

Great job so far!

I would give it a try. I don't know why everyone seems to not like it. It has a much more extensive menu than so many other DDP restaurants.

I'm in. :cloud9: Love your report so far.

Oh my goodness, I have had the mac and cheese at WPE and it is hands down the best m&c ever.

I do feel like I was jipped; however, because I only got the brownie for dessert. I must have had a brain issue that day to pick that over creme brulee. What a dork! :headache:

Brittany actually almost ordered a brownie! :sad2: I gave her a nudge and when she realized they came in a bag, she switched. Boy was she glad she did! It's funny how many times I ordered "must-haves" from the DIS and she ventured out and always ended up wanted what I ordered!

signing on! love your report so far....and the closeup pics!

Sadly, I got a little lazy and didn't take so many close-ups as the week went on (we were REALLY excited the first day and all full of energy). You know how Disney trips go... you start out with one plan but things turn out how they want to!

Let's keep this train moving!

Today was our breakfast at Crystal Palace. Since our trip wasn't planned that far in advance (and the 180 rule was in effect) I couldn't get a ressie for before the park opened. But the park opened at 9:00AM and our ressie was for 9:10AM. By the time we got over there, it was already CRAZY crowded. And poor clueless people were walking up trying to get seated, just to be turned away.

DSCF0283.jpg

We were seated very quickly and right away. Our waiter was named Michael. Basically he gave us our drink orders and we didn't see him again for another hour. Yeah, it was lame. The only time it bothered me was when we wanted to leave and we couldn't get him to come ring us out. That really annoys me, but we still had a fun meal.

To drink, we took advantage of the two drinks with breakfast. Brittany got OJ and a milk, I got OJ and water (which is not pictured).

Why not take a picture? I think we eventually stop with the drink pictures...
DSCF0254.jpg

Tigger and Pooh came around almost immediately (before we got food). Eeyore came later, but even after staying over an hour, Piglet never came close to us. This was sad, because Brittany likes Piglet, but we REALLY wanted to get out to the park.

Here's Brittany's first and second plate.

In case you need it, from the top going clockwise: Grapes, Lots-o-Bacon, scrambled eggs, Mickey waffle, and puffed french toast.

From top going clockwise: Brittany's "butt" (aka: glazed mini-donut), grits with brown sugar, puffed french toast, bacon galore.

Here's my first and second plate:

From top going clockwise: grapes, syrup bowl, Mickey waffle, puffed french toast, strawberries.

Second plate, from top going clockwise: potato wedges, scrambled eggs, cheddar and colby-jack cheese cubes, raspberry coffee cake (the raspberry is under the icing on the top).

All right, so this is a great place for breakfast at the Magic Kingdom. I love Pooh and gang, so the characters are fun to watch. Some thoughts on the food... I didn't like the scrambled eggs at all. Usually I'm kind of particular about them (I like them on the dry side), but these had a strange "buttery" taste that made even Brittany not like them. Everything else was good and what you would expect.

However, let me say that the puffed french toast is so FREAKIN' AWESOME! I wish I had some right now. I could eat it everyday for breakfast. It is basically a light and fluffy sweet dough that is fried and covered in cinnamon-sugar. I don't know why they put this on the "Kids" part of the buffet. I love cinnamon stuff, so I may be biased. That was definitely the stand-out for me.

I have the receipt in front of me so in case you're curious, each breakfast was $18.99. So with tax it was $40.45 before tip.

Coming up next... Dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table (and yes, we got that awesome window seat!)

OK, exactly how close is Columbus, Ohio to Canada anyway, eh? And for the record, Canadian is not a language, eh! ;)

Lovin' your report, sign me up!

Your report so far is wonderful. I had WPC ressies and cancelled them due to what Allears reported. Now I'm thinking I should try to get them back (we scheduled Planet Hollywood instead)

Looking forward to more.

Everything looks yummy!

We did lunch here last month and loved it...everything on the buffet was great.

Your report is making me hungry!!!

So far you've hit some of my favourite places...I can't wait to read the rest and see the PICTURES!!! They are FUNtastic!!!

I adore Wolfgang Puck...I heart the Butternut squash soup...but really - we wanted it all LOL

Ohhh, you're making me home-sick for Disney!!! The Crystal Palace breakfast was one of our group's favorites! It's definitely on the schedule for our trip in November. I'm enjoying your reviews, and can't wait for more. :cool1:

Besides the characaters, the Puffed French Toast IS the reason we go to CP. I could eat it seven days a week...awesome is exactly the word I would use for it too! :worship:

Hmm... sounds like I have a reason to take another Disney trip. :thumbsup2

Who needs a reason :rotfl:

Gotta admit, I am salivating over that puffed french toast at CP - we aren't doing brekkie there on our next trip so I might have to go and beg them for some to take out :rotfl2:

OH MY MY, My southern ancestors would be turning in their graves :lmao: "grits with brown sugar". Hehehehe, they would be saying, "Honey, you eat butter on grits, not brown sugar." Personally, I think I now will give it a try.

OK. First of all, I am from Ohio too!! And I am in looooove with your Britney Spears avatar and little video. I love her. I cannot WAIT for her concert but it seems so far away (4/28).

2nd of all: Did you get that Mac&Cheese for lunch? Mac&cheese is my favorite food and that is just making my mouth water. PLEASE TELL ME I CAN GET THIS FOR LUNCH!

3rd: Lots of people here convinced me to book a CP breakfast ressie and now that I did I am sooo excited! Your pics are making my stomach growl!

Thanks for the awesome reviews!

Great reviews! I'm lovin' the close-ups!!! Hey if you can't eat it, the next best thing is to look at it!! Thank you!

These are my thoughts exactly! It is so good, and something you can't get everywhere. It's a great start to a day at the Magic Kingdom!

Brittany told me that this is something she picked up from a friend when she went to Bahamas for school (it was actually for geology, not for partying!). She knows it's weird, but she loved it. She thought the Disney grits were very yummy, which she says is not always the case.

First, O M G! Are we the same person??? Britney is my girl and I've loved her since I was in high school! I am also going to her concert in April! I've got decent tickets but boy are they expensive!!!

YES you can get the Mac&Cheese for lunch! Actually, the entire menu is available after breakfast until closing. Our specifically told us that we could have anything from the menu. How awesome is that??

And for the third, YES you will be happy you made the ressie. It's so good and very fun! The actual restaurant is beautiful too!

We had a 5:50pm reservation for CRT during our Magic Kingdom day. To be honest, this was our first day in the park and we were beat. Our waitress Denise was very sweet, but commented that we looked absolutely tuckered out! Luckily, this dinner was the boost we needed to get through Wishes and some EMH evening fun!

After getting our picture taken with Cinderella, our name was called a little after 6. Side story- The picture from my March 08 trip of me and Cindy at CRT is hanging on the fridge at my house. So basically every time I get stuff from the frige, I look at me and Cindy. Well, when we met her again this year, I noticed she was once again perfect and beautiful. But when I got our PICTURE, I realized it was the exact same Cindy! (Now of course there's only "one" Cinderella, but you know what I mean) I told my mom that and she was like, "At least she's got job security!"

Let me say, my last name is Prince. And it's always funny when they say "Now seating the Royal PRINCE family!" I mean, duh I'm royal! Just kidding! They do the same thing at Akershus and I always giggle on the inside. Brittany got a kick out of it too.

Anyhoo, we were lucky enough to get a table right by the window. Here's a view from our seat:

DSCF0312.jpg

Perfection! You can see Sir Mickey's store and the Carousel. We could also see the Cinderella statue. Very cool indeed.

I ordered a Sprite, but Brittany ordered a water. To our surprise, she was bought this fancy bottle. And FYI: she did get a refill with a new bottle!

DSCF0313.jpg

First we were brought out our rolls.

DSCF0314.jpg

These are hot and good. But nothing spectacular.

As far as apps go, Brittany ordered the soup. Allears.net says: Corn and Crab Soup with sour cream and chives. The Mickey head is a nice touch.

DSCF0316.jpg

I can't remember if Brittany liked this. She seemed to eat most of it. I didn't try it.

I ordered the Castle Salad. Allears.net: Castle Salad - Mixed Field greens with Blue Cheese, Raspberries and Candied Walnusts tossed in a Berry Vinaigrette.

DSCF0315.jpg

This was very yummy. I love Blue Cheese, and the mix of the sweetness of the walnuts and vinaigrette with the savory cheese was a nice combination. I had never ordered this before and liked it better than the spring rolls I had last year.

Brittany and I both though the tortellini sounded yummy so we both ordered it. Last year I got the chicken, so I wanted to try something new.

This was so good! I love tortellini, and this had a wonderful flavor. With the tomatoes, etc. it was very delicious. But this is RICH and hard to finish. Our waitress Denise mentioned that people can never finish this dish. She said one big 6 foot guy was determined to finish it off, but afterward he looked like he wish he didn't!

For dessert, we both ordered the chocolate buckle. This the "celebration" dessert so it had Mickey sprinkles and a white-chocolate disc added to it.

DSCF0319.jpg

I don't like whipped cream so I plopped it off. Brittany didn't eat her whipped cream either, because she said it was from-a-can-tasting. I sort of wish this came with ice cream. But I love the cheesecake-y dollop hidden in the middle of the cake. Yummy! I also love those baked cream-cheese "dots" on the top.

We had been here for over an hour, and I realized there was no show yet. I wondered if maybe they didn't do it anymore. Luckily, the fairy-godmother came out just when I thought she might not! The show was changed slightly from last year, and she went on and on about celebrations. She even yelled over to me, because I had a graduation cap on, and said "We have a graduation! How wonderful, congrats graduate!" I blushed and felt special!

Here's some pictures with the mices (tee hee):

DSCF0321.jpg

The "teal" one was there too, but I guess I didn't upload those pics. I knew the purple one was Perla (who's the other one, Merla? :confused3 ) and she got all excited. Too cute!

Now on to the food... when I booked this, I wasn't too excited. I mean, I went last year and basically booked it for Brittany, being her first time and all. I think eating in the castle is special and must-do for first-timers. But as far the food goes, I can take it or leave it. I do think that this meal is better than the one I had last year. I think it renewed my interest in eating here. I would like to try this for breakfast, since I am yet to do so. But then I would have to get the puffed french toast from CP another time... hmmm.... I'm already planning a trip in the future!

Anyways, I wanted to take a second to say thanks to all who have commented and I'm glad you like my food porn! It kind of extends your trip a little to know that you can come home to talk about it on the DIS for at least a few weeks after, right? I'll keep it coming as quick as I can!

Coming up next... our first breakfast at Sassagoula Floatworks (POFQ) and lunch at Hollywood Brown Derby.

Love your take on CRT. I was thinking of having a CRT dinner during our upcoming trip; however, all of my teen boys(17's) simply would not give in.:confused3 They claim that CRT is going to fill with princess-wanna-be's. How can I change their minds? Pretty princesses CM's???maybe :rolleyes1

Tell them they don't have a choice! :rotfl: Seriously!!!

Last time we went I didn't book the castle because I didn't think anyone would like it. I should have booked it for ME. It was MY vacation too after all. I regret not booking it.

Now DD is 3 (she was 2 last trip and didn't know the princesses) so I booked it. DS made a little stink face but I told him this trip is not all about him. :rolleyes1 LOL He's okay with going.

I have the same problem!! My boys say NO WAY!!! When are you going to DW? WE can meet to do CRT & those nasty boys can eat else where!!! :rotfl: Having no daughters, I think I will NEVER get the experience of dining with Cinderella!
