How do you relax?

OP :hug: to you and your family.

I wanted to mention about the cycle of eating and being sick. When going through a very rough period in my life, I had the same problem. I was so devastated and depressed that I didn't eat, then I would and end up with it coming up in one way or another. I started at 135lbs in Oct and ended up at 90 lbs by Jan. It just was a terrible cycle. I tried EVERYTHING. The stress was what the major factor was.

I finally got to the point where I started eating several small meals a day. Snacking and never really eating a full meal until my stomach could take it. I starting gaining weight back slowly over a few months. I stopped being sick. The dr. recommended foods with a lot of potassium as this is usually what you are missing when you are in this cycle. Lots of bananas for me. The stress, the depression, the weight loss caused me to be so tired and wiped out. I would sleep for an hour...wake up and its like I never was asleep the wheels in my head were still turning. I never did the sleeping pill route. I just started walking..miles and miles of walking to tire myself out.

The point is that right now you are stuck in limbo. That is what your body is reacting to...the fright or flight. Causing the problems. Once you get stuck here its hard to get back out. You are making all the right steps. Give yourself a pat and be nice to YOU! Make an attempt everyday to allieviate something on your list that is causing you stress or anxiety. Little things until you are ready for the big. Just cleaning the bathroom in this cycle is really hard because all you want to do is think think think about your problems. So, everyday, I would mark something small off my list. Going to the grocery store. Cleaning the fridge. Eventually these small tasks are gone and the bigger tasks don't look so big.

I hope you are feeling better soon. Just remember to be GOOD TO YOURSELF!

Yes, I have been trying small meals. I'm just not hungry due to the stress, and my stomach is in knots, so very tough to even force things down. Think trying to eat and crying at the same time, it doesn't work very well. Bananas have been a godsend. Maybe my body really did know what it needed. Actually, almost any fruit goes down okay and doesn't make me sick. I had 1/4 cantalope this morning for breakfast. So far, so good.

Honestly what makes me relax the most are relaxation hypnosis videos on youtube. i went through a really tough breakup last year and i was so surprised as to how much these videos helped me!!

here are some of my favourite channels;
http://www.youtube.com/user/SleepMP3
http://www.youtube.com/user/massageclips
(it's also really relaxing to me to watch the massage videos when i don't have time to go out and get one)
http://www.youtube.com/user/jnspire#p/u/32/2CRxuRXbjPk
(all his videos are good but this one is my favourite)

what i usually do it make a playlist on my youtube and just put my speakers on, turn off all the lights, lie down and drift off.....

also the solitudes CDs are really good (you can find some tracks on youtube as well) it works so well for me.

Anyways I hope you can find a way to really relax and get rid of some of your worries :hug: sounds like you're going through a lot! and i hope that you are able to recover from this soon!! :hug::hug:
