How do you keep your pins?

Having now been on 2 ABD's just got back from the last one on Sunday. I've got the pins. I don't want to keep them stashed away but want to display them somehow as a memento of our trip.

I'm looking for ideas and wondered what you all do with your pins.

I was thinking of a favorite picture of us all from our trip with the pins placed around them?

Any help/inspiration gratefully received

I like your idea. Personally, I have them pinned onto the lanyards they gave us, with the lanyards hanging from a bulletin board.

I'm browsing your trip reports, haven't been on an ABD trip, but we have tons of pins from WDW. I bought cork tiles, doubled them to hang them on the wall and stuck them on there. I use it as a cork board as well, but top square is filled with pins.

I have ours displayed in shadow boxes with 2-3 favorite photos, a highlighted route map and a favorite trinket (ie eiffel tower keychain for London/Paris).

That's what I did too!

Mine are displayed where I can always see them -

and when I have my down or 'long day at work" day, coming home and seeing them just puts a smile right back into my heart.

[With 4 of us traveling on 2 adventures now, I must cop to looking on eBay to see if there was a market for pins But being a sentimentalist, we've kept them!

My daughters display theirs on their lanyards hung over their dresser mirrors; not terribly decorative!

Mine and DHs are sadly hanging on our belt organizers in our closets; not a fate they deserve I'm sure!

My DM and DD have the best idea! When we were still tots, they would collect patches (remember old fashioned patches) and attach them on a banner they hung in their RV. Many years later and many additional panels and patches, and now pins, added, it hangs in their den. It's really cool to see their ABD pins hanging next to patches from the 70s! It's a neat way to display them!

I've seen fellas wearing them on their hats on our ABDs too. Some kids display them on their back packs- but id worry theyd get lost!

We have yet to be on a ABD, but our pins from WDW and DLR are in shadow boxes. We still have a few more projects and boxes to complete but we try to do a box for every vacation.

Do they make frames/shadow boxes specially made for pins? We want to display a set of each of our ABD adventures, too! Just returned yesterday from Germany!

But I got a package from ABD today with the item below in it and it is awesome! Now I want to do this with all of my pins. Our name was in the middle, but I hid it to protect my anonymity.

Wow, that is neat Bobo! Is this a post trip gift? Seems like it since you already have all the pins! Is the thing in the middle with your name (whited out) and trip a pin you got on the trip, or was it in the box when you got it? Maybe this is a gift for #4 and beyond?

Unfortunately, the framed pins are the gift for when something goes wrong on your trip and you complain a lot about it. It was a nice gesture. Everybody is supposed to get the insider pins for past trips. The thing in the middle is a name tag like cast members wear. It does have my last name on it and I hid it. This is an additional set of pins - not the ones we got on our trip. They even sent another Insider pin #4, which we already received at the welcome dinner. As I was typing this, I just realized that we only got one each of pins 2 and 3 and we should have gotten one for each of us. So now we have one #2, one #3 and three #4s. Oh well. I guess DS isn't going to get pins 2 & 3, because I'm keeping these for myself.

Sorry that it had to be for something going wrong! I still shudder thinking of you stranded at the airport with no transportation!

The shadow box gave me some ideas. I think I will start looking for some to display boxes at Michaels!

That's a neat gift!!! I'm glad they gave you some "compensation" for what you went through. And like sayhello said, it also gave me ideas on how to frame those precious pins! I just wish the lanyard can be included as well. They could at least give the layout to guests even unframed, don't think that cost much.

I saw an idea on Pinterest where someone pinned their pins to a lampshade.

Our pins from our first four WDW trips are hanging on lanyards in a huge display frame that DH had made for us at Hobby Lobby. My ABD pins are on a corkboard at work. DD & DH's are in a drawer. All of our other pins are on lanyards laying on the dresser in our guest room. I need to display them, but haven't figured out how yet since I want to keep them on the lanyards.

I was thinking the same thing. I would rather have the empty frame to put my pins in than the backpack. But that would give away the surprise for anybody who hasn't taken an ABD trip (and doesn't read this board).

Nope, I did not get my pins #2 - 4. Should I call the general number & let them know, do you think? Or do you think there's a particular department I should tell? You're the first person I've heard of to get the previous pins, also.

My impression was that you should have gotten them already. I called the general number today to let them know we only got one set and they said they would take care of it. So I think you can try that first and see what happens.
