How do you feel about Holiday Sweaters?

Do you like to wear them? Do you think they look silly?
I don't mind them as long as they aren't too cutesy. I enjoy snowflake patterns. If they light up or blink I think it may be too much. What's your take?

Like you, I prefer wintery patterns to anything Christmas gaudy. I do love wearing the jewel tones at Christmastime though. And velvet. Its the one time of year I feel I can get away with it. :)

I, personally, don't think anyone under 65 should wear them. :rolleyes1

I have friends who do wear Christmas sweaters, though, and I don't give them too much grief for it! To each his own! :teeth:

I say no to sweaters with holiday scenes on them. JunieJay, I also love jewel tones and velvet though. :thumbsup2

Ideally, no. No one should wear them. But if you must, I think the over 65 rule should be used:

They frighten me. Along with jingle bell necklaces, light-up Christmas bulb earrings, and musical socks.

I don't think anyone under 55 should wear them, but then again, I live in FL and it's now snowbird season so take that for what it's worth. :lmao:

For me, I don't care for Christmas or winter sweaters at all.

depends on the sweater - as long as they are tasteful and understated - rather than cutsey or overdone - then they are fine!!!! :wizard:

Last year I read something that said that a holiday sweater just zaps the sex appeal right out of a woman....I think I agree.

Cosmo also has some rathering interesting ideas for ice chips :rolleyes1 :teeth:

Anyhow, I think the sweaters are very cute but just not my style :)

"Oh honey, you looks so gorgeous in the royal blue, thick knit, woolen monsrosity with Frosty on the front..."

I am a midwestern, holiday sweater wearing, middle aged momma and proud of it!!!!

While I do know that Tim Gunn would never approve, I do take his advise and I do try to "make it work!!" The only time I wear them is to holiday events and church, so I don't feel out of place because most of the other midwestern, middle aged mommas I am with are wearing them too!!!

I have one. I wear it to work (at an elementary school) and sometimes do something like Christmas Caroling. Kids love holiday sweaters.
