How do we feel about late August?

We’ve done it twice. It’s hot but doable especially since it’s summer where you are already. I feel that your body is already used to the heat so what’s a little more. Lol I found the unseasonably hot November to be worse when we went since we weren’t conditioned for that heat anymore. I’m in NJ and November is cold.

We always did AM park, midday pool break and PM park. I wore workout gear and it helped with the sweat.

We are from a warm climate so we would just think its like being at home. If you are not from a warm climate, you will probably think its very hot. We love the pool time in the summer though. We have been in November and its too cold to swim for us.

We went in August a few times before the pandemic..
Yes, it's HOT... But crowds are fairly light in late August because southern schools are back in session. It's actually a good time to visit -- prices are lower, crowds aren't bad, and most rides are open (more rides are down for rehab during fall and winter). You just have to deal with the heat -- rope drop and nights.

One of my coworkers made a summer trip to Florida last year and the combination of heat, humidity, and mask wore them down. Multiple mask a day were helpful. If Disney amends their mask policy to allow buffs or similar it would be much more tolerable in hot, humid weather. As long as mask are required I will limit my trips to cooler weather months.

We used to go to WDW the last week of August every year (skipped 2020, unfortunately). Yes, it's really hot, but I wouldn't say it's hotter than July. We went mid-July in 2019 and it was just as hot then as I remember any August. Our strategy was always to get out early in the AM, take a long afternoon break and then go back out around the time the sun was going down. It usually rains every afternoon as well and it's hurricane season. The heat definitely impacted how much time we spent in the parks, but the crowds (at least during the last week of August) were always quite low. We also enjoyed being able to go to MNSSHP when they started holding it in late August (not sure what's happening this year). Is it the best time to go, weather-wise? No. But if you can strategize around the heat and rain, you are typically rewarded with lower crowds.
I completely agree with all of this. Historically, the crowds have been lower during the last week or two of August. But it's also usually blazing hot and quite humid. So, if you can tolerate the heat and humidity, it's a decent time to go from a crowd perspective.

Hotter than the hammered down hinges of hell. I've done a travel package twice during that time period. We are from GA and even being used to the heat and humidity and in good physical condition, we were wrung out shortly after lunch (we're rope droppers) and spent many afternoons back at the hotel either at the pool or napping. Crowds grow as Labor Day approaches.

There is a chance that my husband and I will be able to go to Disney in August this year which is totally new territory for us. We are usually locked into going during the summer or the first week in October due to my school schedule (yay for teachers!).

How is Disney the last few weeks of August? Crowd levels? Temperature? I feel like crowd levels wouldn't be awful because students would be heading back to school. I've heard Florida is really hot in August. Is it hotter than it would be in July?
Been to Disney 3 times the end of August....Yes it was very hot, humid but we did rope drop in every park except Epcot. Used our fastpasses then left the park about noon, back to the resort and pool time. Early dinner then back to a park. We just learned to pace ourselves accordingly...with the heat. Still enjoyed everything. If restaurants and shows open back up by August you can always duck in and cool off. have fun!

even though I said august was hot but doable there’s no way I would do it with masks. No way.

If masks are gone, I’d do August. We’ve done June and July before so not much different than August. I like the late hours and not having to wear jackets and being able to swim!
