How do Southwest credits work now??

Now that each person can only use their own credit when the rate drops, how does that work?

For example, 3 people on a reservation, the rate drops and I rebook.

Does each person get a different number to use for the credit? Before, I would just plug in one number where it asked for ticketless travel funds.

I hadn't heard that the policy was on hold. So, if I buy tickets now and they go down in price, I can still give the credits to my brother to use on his trip?

It depends on if/when they announce a new date for it to start.

It doesn't surprise me that it's technically a bear to redo in the computer. It's going to be highly inconvenient.

Right after the "change", I tried to use a confirmation number with dh's name and it wouldn't work for my other tickets. I had to use the other name associated with that same confirmation # to get the credit. (((head scratch)))

In the last few days though, I used my dh's name and confirmation # for some credit he had. I was changing 5 tickets, one of them was for dh. I thought it would just take off the extra price for his ticket change, but it covered the whole amount due on all 5 of the tickets. I was happy. I thought I would have to pay out of pocket for the other tickets I was changing.
It's all a bit confusing, but it seems to be good at the moment. LOL

Thank you, DebbieB. That clarifies things a lot for me. I am still going to wait and see if the price comes down a bit before I book my flight. But, I do feel better knowing I MIGHT be able to give the credits to family. (If I acquire some credits). Flyer Talk looks like a place I am going to have to visit!!!
