we were thinking about driveing to fl and then flying home. I just can not find a place to rent a one way car rental.

one way car rentals can be very expensive. I had to do this a bunch of time while traveling on business. The reason why it's expensive is because they car rental company that owns that car has to pay someone to drive that all the way back.

So you technically pay for the rental down and they for someone to come down and drive it back. It get's really expensive. Trust me

1 way airline tickets are easy. Just purchase the 1 way and not roundtrip

You can get great one way rates if you rent from an area, and a time, when agencies want to move cars.

otherwise rental agencies will be happy to do one way rentals if customers are willing to pay $$$ The issue is miles. Unlimited doesn't mean the agency doesn't care how many miles you drive but rather the rates assume people renting a car at MCO, on average, are going to put reasonable miles on a car. The agency can assume a customer renting a car in Chicago and returnining a day or two later in Orlanod is going to put a lot of miles. I don't remember what the miles cost the rental agency, .20/mile?
