We are going to 1900 park fare for dinner on our first night! This will be our first time at the resort, how does the transportation work. I would also like to ride the boat, I know it goes to the MK but where can you ride it to and from. Thanks

You have a few choices. Among them are:

Take a bus from ASMU to a DTD, Epcot, AK, or the Studios, then transfer to a bus to the GF.

Take a bus from ASMU to the MK, then get on the resort monorail (4 stops) to the GF.

Take a taxi directly from ASMU to the GF. This will cost you money but will be by far the fastest and most direct way to go.

Assuming MK is open, take the bus to MK and then the boat to GF. Different Boats go from MK to GF,POLY, CR FW WL And TTC.and you can ride any of them if you wish. If you are late after dinner, you may have to take a bus to DTD and then bus to ASMU.

Oh, awesome, my kids will love the boat ride over to the Grand Floridian, that's what we'll do.
This will be our first time on-site so we're excited about Disney Transportation.
When we arrive is there a list somewhere, so we'll know how to get around?
Thanks

You will find that it is really quite easy to get around at WDW. The one thing to remember is that you can not go from resort to resort on one bus. You will have to get to a park, or DTD, and then transfer to the appropriate resort bus.
So, for you to get to the GF, you can take the bus from your resort to MK. Then, either take the resort monorail from MK to the GF. This will take you about 25 mins total. It will make 3 stops before yours. Or you can take the boat from the main boat dock at the MK. The GF shares a boat with the Polynesian. It will stop at the GF first, then head to the Polynesian. Both are great ways to get to the GF.

Don't be afraid to use the transportation, ride the Monorail, ride the boats, go to a hotel, then take a diferent mode somewhere else. You cant really get lost and its a great way to get the lay of the land.
