How do I add on Magical Express

We'll be going to WDW and staying POR. My DS and DGD will fly down and use the Magical Express to go to the resort. I'll be driving down and will meet them at POR. My other son will fly down later to join us for the weekend. I was told to just add him to the room when he arrives, so he will not be on our reservation. Can he use the Magical Express? How would I get him his ticket for this?

When you add him to your room after you check in, you can ask the resort to arrange ME for him. You will have to do it early enough though - and I don't personally know how much time that is. I'm guessing at least one full day ahead of time, if not more.

Oh thanks! I can add him on check in which should give them sufficient time to make the arrangement.

Now, I've got to ask, how does he get the luggage tags?

Unfortunately, he won't get vouchers or luggage tags. He will need to either get his own bags and take them on the bus...or when he goes to the ME desk, which he'll need to do because we won't have vouchers, he can give them his baggage claim checks along with a description of his luggage and they will pull them from the carousel.

Just wanted to add that we did this very thing in September because my brother was joining us for a few days in the middle of our trip. Everything worked just right and was very easy to have arranged. He was to arrive the day after us, so my parents were able to have him added to their reservation after checking in and then also added him to Magical Express. He was only bringing carry on's so the tags weren't needed but if he were to check any bags, he would have just grabbed them himself or given the ME desk his claim tix. They had all his info at the ME desk and he was good to go.
