How did Disney know we are celebrating our anniversary?

Sorry, not sure where best to post this...

Just got our "Incredible" MyMagic+ package in the mail. On the first page it says "We're super excited that you're coming back to visit us while celebrating an Anniversary in September."

For the life of me, I don't remember telling them that we will be celebrating our anniversary (which we are). I booked everything (vacation package, Magical Express, ADRs, FP+) online except for our Keys to the Kingdom tour which I had to call to make reservations.

Is there a point in the online vacation package reservation process where they ask what you're celebrating that I must have filled out that I'm just forgetting about?

I just did a dummy booking and got all the way to the credit card info page before aborting and didn't see anything pertaining to that.

:confused3

In any case, I'm glad they know. I was just (pleasantly) surprised they did!

I booked a Keys to the Kingdom tour the other day and the CM on the phone asked if we're celebrating anything special. Maybe you mentioned it then? In any case, happy (early) anniversary!

Disney must be some sort of wizard. That or blame MDE. When all else fails, blame MDE.

I see you had past trips in sept. Most likely on those trips it was mentioned and saved in thieir systems. I had learned disney's IT systems not MDE ( interface for us) has a looong memory. I learned for ex. Old adresses still pop up even though years changed. ( for me an estranged family member was getting my disney trip confirmation mail even though i called maaaaany times to remove sAid address).

if you happened to mention your anniversary when you last visited, the CM make a note on your file and they will have got it from there.

Similar situation with us, but on the Disney Cruise line. When I booked a 2009 cruise, I was asked if we were celebrating anything special, as it happened we were celebrating our 20th anniversary & booked a Dinner at Palo, which was recognized by the staff. Fast forward 4 years & we are dining in Remy on our anniversary. To our utter surprise the staff was fully aware & made the evening very special for us. I know I never mentioned it when booking because it was not a milestone anniversary e.g. 25th. Clearly our date is in their data bank somewhere.
A different time I was booking a future cruise & the CM noted that my passport was getting close to the expiration date & might want to consider renewing, which I ended up doing.

No, it can't be this. Our anniversary is actually at the end of June and our past trips were all family vacations and I know for sure I didn't mention it then (we don't usually do much, if anything, to celebrate our anniversaries).

However, this year, since it's our 15th wedding anniversary (and we were wanting to do a couples only trip anyway), we're going just the two of us specifically to celebrate it. Chose late Sept/early Oct for a multitude of reasons (weather, getting time off work, free dining discount) but also to do the Food & Wine Festival.

It could be that when I called to make the Keys to the Kingdom tour, the CM asked if we were celebrating anything but I really don't remember.

Man, I love Disney World!!

I'm fairly sure that when I booked our last trip on line there was a place to mention celebrating something along the way...Or maybe it was when we did the online check in process..

This must be it. I simply can't think of any other way.

Thank you and thank you every one else for your help on this fantastic problem to have (haha!)

I think this is the reason disney blows away 99% of all locations you could visit.

I've been to many all-inclusive type places in the caribbean over the years. Not once did I ever feel like going back to the same place twice. I always wanted to "try something different next time."

Disney World is definitely the exception.

It's scary what Disney knows. They also know what you did last summer;)

In the spirit of the "Everybody's celebrating something, no questions asked" thread, I'm guessing Disney just assumes that we're all celebrating our anniversaries when we go. :thumbsup2

It's funny how they can tell that it's your anniversary, but they STILL ask me if it's my first time visiting, even though I'm an AP holder and I've frequented the parks my entire life. :confused3

hehe.

hehe.

Maybe some people like to wear that button on every trip too. :duck:
