How close is the nearest McDonald's to your house?

I'm reading the book,The Average American, and it's about the author's quest to find the average American. One of the statistics says that the average American lives within three miles of a McDonald's.

It also says that the average American lives within twenty minutes of a Walmart.

Our house is almost exactly three miles to a McDonald's, but Walmart is about a 25 minute drive.

How about you?

I guess I'm average -- our closest MickeyD's is less than 3 miles away and Wal-Mart is a 15 min. drive in really bad traffic.

McD's - literally, you go up the block a few houses, walk in front of an Auto Supply store, and VOILA! Youre at McD's - 3 minute walk, tops...

Wal Mart - 10-15 minutes....

McD's about 1 mile away and Walmart about 15 mins. away. I guess I am average...

both current residence and former residence - less than a mile. And the funny part is I hardly ever go there- maybe 10 times a year.

WalMart is 15 minutes one direction and about 20 minutes the other direction. I go to Walmart even less often than I go to McD

Oh, I think McDonald's is about 5 or 6 miles away and Walmart is about 25 to 30 minutes away. I guess we are close to average even though we are rural.

Well right now it's about 25 minutes away. But that's because they completely leveled the McD's that's about 1 mile from my house to rebuild it. Walmart is about a 5 minute drive.

I have 2 McDonalds within 3 miles of my house in each direction and Walmart is about 10 minutes away!!!

Make that TWO McDonald's are within three miles because there is one inside of our WalMart too.

I'm soon to be average.

Mickey Dees is about a mile away (less probably) and our Walmart that will be less than a mile away is scheduled to open sometime in December. Well, they did announce they won't have it open in time for Black Friday, so anytime directly after that.

McDonalds is probably about 3 miles away if we could go in a straight line, but since we have to twist and turn, it takes about 10 minutes. Walmart is about 10 miles away.

Closest McDonalds is about a 30 - 35 minute drive (but somehow we still eat there too much!). Closest Walmart closer to 40 minutes (but again, we still spend way too much $$ there). We live in a pretty rural area. The closest grocery store is also about 30 -35 minutes away. ....................P

McDonald's is 1 minute away, Target is 3 minutes away, and Walmart is less then 10 minutes away. Where I live, I can get to almost any store/resturant in 10 minutes or less!

In the early fifties, McDonalds didn't exist. There are now over 30,000 McDonald's restaurants in over 120 countries.

I guess it's kind of difficult not to be near one!!

That's true in my case. I know you are asking about Walmart and McDonalds separately, but every Walmart here has a McDonalds in it.
