How bad is it? Positive tests

We were one of the unlucky families to have a positive test in our group the night before our Mediterranean cruise in Europe. We heard that a high number could not sail due to Covid (whether testing positive at the port or soon before) — only 1700 out of 1900 made it on board. From following our Facebook group, there are a lot of positive cases on board as well. We wish we had not spent the three days in Italy sightseeing beforehand, and had hunkered down here. There are a lot of cases right now. All four of us are vaccinated and boosted, and the kids were boosted one month before the cruise. Their symptoms are more mild than my husband and I but ALL of us caught it and are now quarantining in an AirBnB in Rome, trying to take things day by day and get better. We’re very sad and disappointed and would not wish this on anyone. :(
So sorry this happen to yu and your family. This was my worst fear and the reason we cancelled. Wishing you speedy healing and safe travels home as soon as possible.

Royal only tests their crew like once every 14 days. That's likely how Disney operates by only testing sporadically but someone would need to comment how often the crew tests.

As for testing positive its a possibility. I would simply take extra care leading up to the cruise and on the flights.

We got Covid from our June cruise and at this point if we go on a cruise in December or January I am just planning on being sick the week post cruise.

Fully vaccinated and all that.
The concierge host on the fantasy told us they test the crew every Friday, which makes sense because if they are positive they won’t be assigned to work when the new group of passengers board on Saturday morning.

Our server on the Fantasy (7/2-7/9) said they’re tested every 2 days.

I thought you got a pro rated refund for the days in quarantine. Would not make up for a lost vacation and quarantine, but it was something.
Sorry, yes, pro-rated. Though, I think really early on this was not the case from early reports. I'm glad they are doing better with this.
