How bad is it? Positive tests

Yes if you are positive prior to boarding, no, if you are positive after boarding.
I thought you got a pro rated refund for the days in quarantine. Would not make up for a lost vacation and quarantine, but it was something.

This is how I was till I realized it wasn’t worth it and moved if to February, we will do land trips to NYC, etc. but I have a autoimmune and would rather not feel death like the flu I had once in 2014
Oh, I totally get it. I do. I had Covid at the end of May. Not saying that this was the current version and it means anything at this point. But, I'm also a teacher and exposed to EVERYTHING. So for me, it's different. But I get it if you are immunocompromised. NO judgement here!

Haven't been on my cruise yet but where I am (UK) there's been a sudden increase in people I know, including me getting Covid for the first time, avoided it for so long.

I had tested everyday after my evening out (Wednesday where I think I picked it up, first time I had worn my mask a less than normal and I had been near groups of people in a busy area), felt fine but a little sniffly on the Saturday but still negative, it was a high hay fever rating day so thought it must be that. In the evening I felt worse, more like a cold and then Sunday morning it felt like a head cold, took another test and two bright red lines. I was positive for 11 days (same as my sister and her bf who got it separately (different house hold) a week before). I felt much better after about 4 days, still felt tired but the head cold symptoms eased off. Luckily I was able to quarantine pretty well in the house and my family didn't pick it up.

Feeling a bit anxious about my trip is I am in DLP a few days prior to this trip and then the flight, getting on the cruise and then having WDW for 9 nights after that. My travel insurance covers Covid measures luckily so money wise shouldn't be an issue, it'll be being stuck in a hotel room by myself that would be a bummer (would they even help with getting food/let food be dropped off?).

I'm defiantly making sure to take masks with me and using them especially in the busy areas or anywhere I feel more comfortable wearing one, going to see if I can get some to match outfits again to make it a little more fun and layer with the blue masks or see if I can get hold of some of those N95 ones, especially while on the cruise.

So just for clarity, the spoke who are being made to quarantine on board are doing so because they went to healthcare with covid symptoms?

If you choose to test at the port and end up positive, does DCL still give you a credit for your cruise? How about if you test positive once you’re onboard? You get quarantined to Deck 2 - any cruise credit anymore?

There has been at least a partial refund if you are quarantined onboard, though except for the under-5's on longer cruises I'm not sure there is much onboard testing taking place. I guess if you report to Medical with symptoms you'll be tested. Last I knew, only the person testing positive is quarantined, unless it's a minor in which case one parent/adult must quarantine with the child. Fully-vaxxed close contacts -- including family in the same stateroom -- are not automatically quarantined anymore.

If any member of your party tests positive at the port at embarkation, all are denied boarding and DCL offers either a full refund or a credit towards a future cruise.

I’m in the UK too and totally agree with the pp - so many people have COVID at the moment here.

I had it a few weeks ago but picked it up off the Fantasy rather than in the UK. Mine was pretty mild - I had flu in 2018 and that was way worse.

Next cruise I’m going to mask in more places but not sure what else I can do. The antigen tests are honestly pretty pointless, you may as well just not test.

Hey gang, lets remember the Dis's Covid posting policy...

"We will NOT welcome debate or opinion about medical, scientific, or political aspects of the pandemic. There are a few often repeated trigger items that won’t be allowed: No statistics about infection rates, no ranting about individual rights, no “face-diaper” comments, no debate about whether vaccinations or masking are effective, no discussions about which governor or politician or news personality did or said what."

We were on the Fantasy 6/11. One member of our travel party (in a different stateroom) tested positive three days in. (We had brought our own rapid tests and then the positive was confirmed by the medical staff.) Her husband and son were also tested, but were negative at that point, so they were given the option to either all quarantine in the original room together for the remainder of the cruise, or she could go to a new room alone to isolate. She opted for the latter and was given a stateroom on a deck 9 with a verandah - an equivalent room to what she had purchased. From what I understand, Disney took very good care of her. She had an excellent guest services person assigned to her who handled everything - making sure she had an abundance of food, internet access, etc and made arrangements for their departure. The son and husband had to continue testing daily (rapid tests provided by DCL), and a day or two later her son tested positive and joined her in isolation for the remainder of the cruise. They were put on a no fly list, so DCL took care of a 2 BR suite in a deluxe hotel in Orlando (not on disney property). DCL paid for their rental car to the hotel and their meals. Ultimately, they decided to make the 16 hour drive home rather than wait until they could fly again, so I believe their rental and meals on the way home were also paid for. In addition, DCL did prorate the cost of the cruise, refunding any money for missed days and excursions.

So, while it still really sucks to get Covid onboard - it put quite the damper on our trip that we'd been looking forward to for a few years - it's good to know that DCL is taking good care of people.

What do you mean taken for quarantine for 10 day?. Is that a thing now? Is Disney testing mid cruise?
For unvaxxed kids yes and for anyone who goes to health clinic and tests because they feel sick. We had people test positive on the 4th day.

The cruises out of US and Canada are not sending people to quarantine if they test positive at the port; they just get taken back to the airport or a hotel. The Magic over in Europe -- I think they do get sent to quarantine.
I’m talking about on disembarkation day. People who had felt sick on the cruise and were positive while onboard that needed to follow CDC guidelines of quarantine before they travelled home.

Didn't think you or anyone was jugding. Hope it didn't seem that why. I'm all for people doing things I do most of the time, with the variant right now being on a ship even though I really want to go isn't right call for me. Land trips I feel are fine if I'm masking

Alright, new question. If someone in our party tests positive between our B2B cruise, does Disney put us on a no fly list? If so is it the entire group and for how long?

No, but airlines do require you to attest that you haven't been exposed to or shown symptoms of or tested positive for Covid-19 within the last N days. I forget the value of N. They reserve the right to remove you from the flight, ban you from flying again, or report you to federal authorities if they find out that you lied about it, too.

Also, please don't fly if you have Covid-19 or you're traveling with someone who does. Seriously, who does that??

A lot of people. People go to work with Covid too.

I mean I literally have done everything I could to protect myself since the beginning. Past year has been pretty normal for me honestly. Everyone I know has gotten Covid at some point

I am going to enjoy my cruise normally. I won't cancel anything cause of it. Just not worried about it anymore. Been primary vaxxed. There's treatments. Nothing left to really do.

But I understand if others in the position want to. Everyone's risk tolerance is different. I don't judge anyone. Just dont wanna keep changing up things every few months. If someone is THAT worried, cruising is not the vacation to be taking, esp long ones or ones that require overseas travel

Not to mention, there are plenty of people on these cruises who have zero issues and have cruised numerous times since the beginning. More than the amount of positives pre boarding. Just gotta stay positive, enjoy yourself.
How i feel too.

I am hoping your last statement was just a generalized comment to all and not directed at me. To be clear, My question was if we would be put on a no fly list and for how long. I did not say or mean to imply I or anyone in my party was planning to fly with a positive Covid result. Just trying to make plans for worst case scenarios for the cruise along with my daughter’s move across country 2.5 weeks post cruise.
