We have made reservations for next Dec. 28 - Jan. 4. Just how bad is it? Would I be better to adjust my stay from Dec. 30- Jan. 6 for instance? We usually go over the 4th of July. Is it worse than that? We want to see the decorations and the better weather, but the crowds have me worried.

I'm wondering the same. We will be there from the 27th to the 5th. I know it is busy that first week but I'm still excited to see everything decorated.

we are there from 12/29 - 1/4, and I am not planning on doing any parks until 1/2!!! We may go in for extra magic hours, but other than that, we are gonna do non park things, and pray for warmer weather, but its looking like 70's!! which is fine considering is 12 here in CT, but would like to use up some water park tickets!

It is the best time of the year with lots and lots of crowds.

We'll be there to see all the hassle and will be having lots of fun

I have been there a few times during that week and it gets pretty mobbed. In the past I remember walking past Small World and some other areas in MK and not being able to MOVE because it was so crowded with people. Lots of crowds and lines with the potential for park closings. For those reasons, this year we have booked Jan 2-7. That said, it is really a special time to be at the parks and I'm wondering if it just won't feel the same being there post-New Year. Not that it's not enjoyable by any means, its just that with a 3 and 5 year old with strollers, I think we'll enjoy the week after a bit more.

It's mobbed but manageable if you plan very well. If you can push your trip back a few days, I would do so.

We were there the week after Christmas in 2003. It was only REALLY BAD New Year's Eve. New Year's Day wasn'tas bad as NYE! If you can stay OUT of ALL of the parks that day, especially MK, you might be OK. It will be crowded and expect FP at Test Track and Mission Space to go early that week and you MIGHT be ok. The decorations are beautiful and worth the trip. You will also be able to see The Candelight Processional. So, good luck and .
make the decision that is right for you.
