Hotels near the euro tunnel?

I've seen a good return rate of £49 going out on 7th back on 9th with the Euro Tunnel, thought that was pretty good. We've driven before and always found it quite a long journey in one go, so this time we were thinking about staying in a hotel either just before we get on the eurotunnel train or just after we get off, to split the journey up a bit.

Does anyone have any recommendations for something cheap the night before?

Thanks :)

Hi Lisa,

I've been lurking for a long time but thought it was about time I registered and posted.

We usually stay in Folkestone the night before travelling on Eurotunnel and either stay in the Premier Inn or the Holiday Inn Express. They're both very close together and just a few minutes drive to the terminal. They're usually around the same price but the Holiday Inn is a bit nicer and comes with breakfast that they'll pop into a bag for you to take with you if you've got an early departure.

Thanks, i'll look into them. :)

Just had a quick look and they are both around the £55 mark for one night, thats a bit pricey for somewhere to lay your head.

Does anyone have any other suggestions at all?

hiya
those r the only really decent hotels already mentioned - am sure u cud find a guesthouse cheaper if u wanted, but think that wud still end up bein a similar price.

as for the tunnel price - ive never seen a return that cheap - u sure its not a single - as thats normally the price for a single journey.
sorry - not much help lol
