Hotel recommendations - Miami or Fort Lauderdale

We are cruising over Christmas. Looking for recommendations for port friendly hotels, ideally Fort Lauderdale, but could also be Miami (near airport).

If you want a beach hotel Marriott Harbor beach is one of the nicest close to the port. If you want one that’s a bit more economical look at the Dania Pointe shopping/entertainment center there’s a few hotels there and very walkable where you wouldn’t need a rental car and it’s super close to the FLL airport and Port Canaveral

Hadn't thought about the shopping area. Thanks. I think that might work. The Marriott looks beautiful, but it's also expensive.
