HOT TOYS for CHRISTMAS 2006

The original Dora house is much less girly than the new Dora Fairytale stuff. My DS7 plays with my DD3 to set up an entire Diego and Dora city with all her playsets and then stage adventures. He loves building though, Lego, Meccano, Forts whatever.

Cranium has some really cool toys out this year that I'm looking at getting. They have a Talking picture book, super story recorder, super fort, and mega mask kits. My kids haven't seen any of them so I don't know they're feelings on them yet, but I'm going to get htem the story toys and the super fort. They had them in the etoys catalog.

Cranium does have some very cool toys out this year. I ordered the Superfort from their website (39.99 with free shipping). I'm hoping this will allow me to keep my kitchen chairs in the kitchen for a change! :rotfl2: It is 49.99 at our local toy store (which I love, but $10more - come on!)

Cranium also has the Mega Mask - Fun Fairy for girls and some kind of Robo bug for boys (can you tell I have girls?). It is 19.99 and comes with interchangeable pieces (think Mr. Potato Head) and a voice changer. It looks very cool! I have put it on my girls' Christmas lists, but they don't know it. Better to have some surprises. You can see all the cool stuff at www.cranium.com.

Ok I dont get the speed stack thing costing $40. I looked it up on their website and I am sure it would be fun but couldnt you just go buy some cheap cups and use a timer from home.

That's what I'm thinking... :confused3

What a great thread!

The only thing I have purchased so far that I was concerned about is Guitar Heroes for PS2. My 12 DD really wants this and I know how video games can be harder to find around Christmas. The only problem is, it is driving DH CRAZY that he cannot play with it and he knows we have it!

wHAT IS THIS???

My kids have been doing this with plastic cups since they saw it on tv and I'll tell you what the problem is... they are not strong enough. They smash them down and then they get crushed- so they are burning through cups.I will be buying that cup thing- hoping it goes on sale...

I think amazon is taking preorders for the nintendo Wii. Think its 249? Sorry if someone else has already posted this, havent had time to read the whole thread.

I signed up on Amazon to be notified, when it becomes available. There was no offer to preorder though. They haven't sent a notification yet either. I'll go back & check again. Does anyone know any other stores that are taking preorders now? TIA :)

Thanks for all of the great ideas!
DD and DS are getting two Cranium Super Forts. I figure the more the merrier! And less squabbling. :cheer2:

My DS 3 wants the diego rescue pack or car or whatever its called. My sister who is 10 wants a deal or no deal electornic game and a bartzz doll with makeup thingy. Any idea where i can get them cheap.

As a PP said, Costco has the Diego 4x4 with bonus arctic rescue set and mountain rescue set for $21. It's a good deal since the car is $20 by itself most other places. The set at Costco comes with three Diegos and about five animals.

I have seen the Deal or No Deal at Wal-Mart and Target, but I didn"t check the price. It seems like something that would go on sale since it is so trendy. I don't know who makes it, but Toys R Us usually has their buy one game, get one free sale in October. It is usually for Parker Brothers, Hasbro and Mattel, not specialty companies like Cranium. Not sure if that game would be included.

WOW! who knew cranium has so much cool stuff now. We have 2 of the board games I was unaware of all the other things they now sell(several of those items are ones that I have from my oldest son way back from I think discovery toys?) I am all over that fort and that price is fantastic! That is a definate Christmas toy for those in our family and I am buying some for those on our list as well! I love it. And those voice changer masks! so cool!!!! Loving the cranium stuff and thanks to the person that posted the website.

The cups are specially made for stacking. Can't describe them, but not like plastic drinking cups. Also comes with an instructional dvd. The mat and timer are very nice. The timer automatically starts when they take their hands off of it, so its very accurate. We totally thought it was a waste when we brought it, but they have spent so much time using it, it has more than payed for itself.

For those thinking about getting Guitar Hero 2 you can pre order from the company that makes this game. When you preorder you get a free Guitar Hero T-shirt. :)

I went ahead and preordered from them ( shipping was only $3.99 ) - I think DS will love it!

I am bummed I missed the Amazon preorder for the Wii this morning :guilty: but I did preorder the new Zelda for Wii at Gamestop today and they said that anyone who preorders a game for Wii will be first on the list to preorder the Wii when they start taking pre orders.

I was lucky enough to pre order Wii from Amazon today. I plan on ordering another Wii from somewhere else just in case we run into a problem with Amazon and the Xbox 360 lasty year. I read on gamestop website that about 4 million units will be sent to the US....so hopefully there will be enough to go around. Also, the new PS3 will debut about 2 days of the Wii on 11-17-06 for the price tag between $500 and $600. So I'm glad that the kids are wanting the Wii. Good Luck to everyone.

My dd, who just turned 4, keeps asking for Amazing Allison. Does anyone have this?? She is finally at an age where she asks for specific toys.

How were you able to preorder it? I'm obviously missing something. :confused3

Caribear, My DD (7) wanted last Christmas Amazing Amanda. Well Santa gave it to her. It was difficult for her to use. Lots of programing.
Plus it's voice recognation so you have to say the words the same way each time. Needless to say it was very frustrating for both of us. We sold it on ebay. Just my experience.

Amazon had it available for preorder this morning for a short amount of time. I unfortunately missed it :guilty: But keep checking - they may list more at a later time.
