HOT TOYS for CHRISTMAS 2006

How were you able to preorder it? I'm obviously missing something. :confused3

We missed it. :sad2:

It was available for pre-order for a very short time this morning. Once the quota was filled, which I understand happened within just a couple of hours, they stopped accepting pre-orders.

My DS wants the PS3, but I think the Wii is the better choice for him - so I'll be keeping my eyes open for other pre-order opportunities.
I do think the Wii should be easier to come by than the PS3

Good Luck to everyone trying to get one... unless you're wanting it to hock on e-bay. Then I hope you don't get it, sorry :rolleyes1

Here's just a small item that I'm having a tough time finding, other than on e-bay:

The littlest pet shop horse & bird set.

I could do a buy it now at $11+ for a toy that retails at $3.99 - but I refuse. So I guess I'll keep checking the stores. Hopefully I'll come across one before Christmas.

Keep checking your local Walmart - I found the horse and bird set for DD at Walmart last week :)

It stinks that we missed it! :guilty: So, why did they even take sign-ups for email alerts? :confused3

I was lucky and got a preorder in at Amazon this morning but I was wondering the same thing. I never got an email alert. I just happened to read it here that they were taking orders.

I haven't seen any. Where did you find these?? Thanks!!

We haven't found any yet, but with 7 different family factions looking in 6 different areas I'm hoping someone can find it.

Hehe, MIL called and said "I'll get that for him, let everyone else know" and I replied, when you find, THEN I will let everyone else know to stop looking. :rotfl2:

Goodluck!

Yep it does stink - I had signed up for the email alert too which never came. It wouldn't have done me anygood though since I was out and about all morning. I'm hoping that Gamestop will start taking preorders soon.

Found info on Amazing Allysen in my Sears Wishbook. It is a "tween age" looking doll who apparently expressed "real" emotions an facial expression. She speaks, listens and has a two way conversation with you. For ages 5 and up and retails at a cool $149.99 (Canadian). Holy guacamole! She does look cool though. :wave2:

I emailed Amazon about the lack of an email alert. Most of us who have older kids have been through a new video game system release enough times to know the odds of them actually having any systems to sell by the time of the official release are slim. If they don't notify you of the preorder, chances are there will be nothing to notify you about.

Oh well, I suppose I shouldn't be complaining. My DS is now old enough that I don't have to search endlessly for the toys everyone else is searching for. :cheer2: 1 game console & a few video games has been easier in the past than the "must have" toys, when he was younger. The days of calling everyone I knew in 10 states looking for that "special" toy are over. If it weren't for all the people who buy up the game systems to sell on eBay, we moms of teens would have it made. :sad2:

PS: If you hear of any more Wii preorders, please let us know. :)

I think the Fisher Price digital camera will be a big hit too! My daughter is getting one on Wednesday for her birthday, it seems to be cool!

I will be sure to post if I see any preorders anywhere soon! I sure hope that everyone who wants one can get one and they are not horded away by the Ebayers looking to make some $$$ - I've already decided that if I do not get one for DS for Xmas I will NOT be buying one on Ebay - Ds will have to wait for his Bday - lol I think I may send Amazon a complaint too :)

Maybe I'm just not being realistic, but I'm not that concerned about getting the Wii - Nintendo says they don't anticipate a shortage and they are apparently further along in production than the PS3 is. If it is THE make-or-break item for your Christmas list then obviously it's better to preorder, but I think that stores should have plenty to sell. And most stores haven't even started taking preorders yet.

Also, I asked my son (10) what he thought would be popular this Christmas, and says Lego Star Wars 2 is what everyone at his school has been talking about. I know he really wants it, and he says all his friends do, too.

I really hope that you are right about there being plenty available :) I am trying not to stress about it - i would just feel alittle better knowing I had one on preorder - LOL

My DS bought Lego Star Wars 2 this week with his mowing money and he LOVES it!! I agree that this one will be very popular.

I also think that Guitar Heros for PS2 and the new Zelda for Game Cube and Wii will be a big hit. I wish they had a new Animal Crossing for Wii -We love that game :teeth:

I was really hoping for a Wii Animal Crossing soon. It is in development, at least. They haven't announced a release date yet, so I'm sure it will be a while. One of the sites with Wii news showed a picture of the message board feature of the Wii - and it showed Nook mail! I'm so looking forward to that.

What is Nook mail??? :confused3 :confused3

Heely's gym shoes with wheels and you can interchange it. Popular for a 9 or 10 year old boys and girls too.

Lego Star Wars II. It just came out a few days ago. This is a big hit for 9 or 10 year old boys. My DS's friends have one and so I went and got my son one too. It's like $39.99 PS2 also available for Game Cube and Game Boy...
It's a hot item right now.

Sorry, I should have explained for those who aren't Animal Crossing addicts!

In the game Animal Crossing (on GameCube and Nintendo DS), you play as a character that moves to a town populated by animals. There is one store in the town, owned by a racoon named Nook. He also sells you your house. In the game, he sends out "Nook Mail" when he wants to advertise or send you something that you ordered from him.

The fact that Nook Mail was shown in some of the promotional material for the Wii means that they are working on Animal Crossing for the Wii. :cheer2:

My nephew got one for his bday yesterday and loves it! My sister says it's really great and that it's so durable if he drops it, it will be fine. I'm thinking of getting DS one since he loves to use my digital camera.
