HOT TOYS for CHRISTMAS 2006

I just want to be in this thread!

My ds8 is asking for Pokemon games, Ben 10 and Code Lyoko toys, and various dvds.

I'm hoping Disney will come out with a digital camera, because that would be a great big ticket item for him!

I read mixed reviews on Amazon about how they turn out...I took the chance and ordered one...my DD4 loves to take pictures but a regular camera would not do because she wants to be able to see the pictures on the screen so this is perfect for that.

I heard the same thing. I'll post how the pictures came out when I get them printed. My DD also wants to be able to see the pictures when she takes them. This camera makes her very happy when she uses it.

We bought this for my 4 yo ds - he takes pretty good pictures with disposable cameras and figured this would be great for him - since it claims to print 4x6 prints - Well they come out so grainy and blurry - and that was even when my husband and I tried - didn't matter if we were inside or out - or if I played with them on Photoshop. Hence we returned it.

My little girl is all about Littlest Pet Shop

My boys are asking for Avatar toys and Pixar Cars merchandise

I have just heard about this Mickey Mouse Clubhouse though, what is it all about??

You know sears sells a disney digital(I got dd the princess heart shaped one) but the pictures it takes are eh to say the best. But look in the camera section and you might see a newer model. I got mine last year and it was super cheap on sale and I think it was only $30*guess that is why the pictures stink :lmao:

I didn't read the whole thread but I have to say - don't waste money on the digital cameras for kids. We bought ds a Batman one last year and it is a piece of junk. Not one picture that he has taken was light enough (at 12 noon!) and they are grainy. You are better off waiting for last years model to go on clearance at Target and buy them a real digital for $75. princess:

They have these buy 2 get the 3rd free at Toys R Us this week - both in stores and online.

I heard that the "deal or no deal" games would be popular this christmas. I think they have 2 or 3 different ones you can buy (handheld for one player, board game, etc)

My kids love to watch this game. Im thinking of getting the electronic ones, but am wondering if they will go any lower in price or if I should just get them now.

In addition to the Wii (which he doesn't know I've pre-ordered for him from Amazon), ds wants the new Lego Mindstorms NXT robot. Since he's in Lego League at school, and he's very interested in robotics, I think we're going to get it for him.

I thought about the Wii but my DS (13) already has a PS2 and a Game Cube at grandma's so I don't think I want to buy another game station.

Oh and he wants the Lego Mindstorms too but at $250 smackers for a lego set :faint:

I don't know about the quality of kids digi cams, but DS 5 almost 6 has been "borrowing" my Canon to take pictures of his lego creations and school artwork. He does really well with it, and I'm considering buying him his own real camera for Christmas (although I'll probably wait another year and just let him use mine).

I haven't shopped yet, but I'd like to get him something a little larger than mine, because I think it would be easier for him to work the controls. He knows how to scroll through the pics we've taken, but can't work the zoom well yet.

The only problem is that he takes movies of dumb things, like his Legos, and sometimes the carpet.

Sorry, if this one has been mentioned:
CubeWorld. DS wants these. I don't think they will be as exciting as he thinks. Gotta' love the advertising to kids, though  esp. the "collect them all" line.
I don't get how they are selling--on Amazon you can pre-order series one for $22/set of 2. But series two and three say released in August. Those are $29/ set of 2 and most are out of stock.
What am I missing here?
Adding-I just checked ebay. There is a listing for series one BIN is $35 vs. the exact same on Amazon pre-order for $22

OK, DS10 just told me about these new things called "Magnetoids" or "uberorbs" which are apparently all the rage at his school. They run about $20. I just purchased them for him as a surprise(either birthday or Christmas) because he must have them, according to him.

Here's a link:http://scientificsonline.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_3101302 and here's their website: http://www.uberorbs.com/2/main.html

While on the website, I purchased these cool and unusual things too:

This one is for DH

And this one for DS's stocking

Anyway, I thought these things were cool and unusual and apparently the Uberorbs are "hot" so I figured I'd post it here. Anybody else have any cool and unusual or "hot" ideas for Christmas?

Just incase anyone wants to save a few bucks Walmart has magnets almost exactly like that for only a couple bucks in the dollar toy aisle - they were pretty popular here last year. However beware they make an awful lot of noise. I hid them from DS a couple times :teeth:

Thanks for the link - there are lots of cool things there :thumbsup2

I searched a bit and found that style but then I read this: We know there are a lot of different "spherical-shaped magnets" on the market now, and some are less expensive. We at Edmund Scientific, choose Uberorbs for our customers because they are the biggest, most durable, make the best noise and come with an excellent carry case.

They are worth the money.
They actually have a cheper version on this website too but I decided to go for the "real thing". :confused3

The kids here didn't really fuss about which brand they had - most had the ones from Walmart -I'm sure the ones you ordered will be great though and your DS will love them- just beware they make an awful lot of noise - I had to hide DS's a few times :rotfl:

What can I say, I'm susceptable to their advertising spiel I guess :rotfl:

DS probably wouldn't have known the difference but what's done is done. Hopefully he'll like them.

I saw these at CVS as well. They were 9.99 and looked like the one in the pic above.

I received the Family Fun issue today with the top toys in it. They have some good ones. POTC Life is one I'll be getting DS. They also had Bead Blast in there. My son has done this at aftercare and it's pretty neat, so I think I might get him that. Cranium has some new things out too that look fun. You can see the toy toys on their site www.familyfun.com
