HOT TOYS for CHRISTMAS 2006

Did you get them recently? I'm having a heck of a time finding them at the craft stores and Walmart like it lists on their site.
The end of august.. I will look and see if they have any left when I go into work this weekend.

Has anyone seen or used that Moon Sand? We were watching cartoons last night and saw a commercial for it...looks REALLY cool...I of course went and ordered a load of it for the kids for Christmas...I hope that it is cool...looks like it.

My DS really wants that and I think it looks cool, too, but I haven't ordered it. I'm kind of skeptical after the "rainbow art set" that we ordered one year, it was JUNK.

Moon Sand is REALLY REALLY COOL!! But a total mess! I got a small tub of it for my ds to try it. And he loved it. really feels like sand stays soft even if you leave it out- But I am thinking this is one of those that needs to be played on a tray. But I say buy it! It is a good one and I am trying to find the sand castle set for Christmas.
edit to add that my son is almost 4 but the 2 older siblings were playing with it too(12,9) as was the baby. So it is good for all ages.

Good to know...I bought it for them...I was able to get a cool set at www.moonsand.tv you got quite a bit of stuff with it for 29.95 plus like 8.95 SH. I know you got castle pieces, farm stuff...a bunch of sand...a cool holder thing...then I went onto Amazon.com and ordered some of the other colors of the sand for $7.99 for .25 pounds.

The stuff is going for good $$ on eBay...better deal to just buy direct.

Target has the Moon Sand. The one with the sand box thing got horrible reviews on TRU's website.

For those who are looking for the Nintendo Wii..I've read on a couple of sites that Toys r us maybe taking preorders on October 29th. Not sure if this is reliable, but wanted to give a head up. In store only.

bought it from target for DD for xmas.. it was the first thing that she had asked for, so i had to make sure she had it... It was 19.95 at target... I got it over a month ago though

Do you think the PINK Nintendo DS Lite will be difficult to find as it gets closer to Christmas?

I know people have been interested in the Fisher Price Kid Tough Digital Camera which usually goes for $69.99 (I've seen it online for $79.99 at some places).

I saw it at Walmart today for $54.84. They only had 2 pink and 4 blue. The tag was listed as a price roll back.

I didn't read the whole thread but I have to say - don't waste money on the digital cameras for kids. We bought ds a Batman one last year and it is a piece of junk. Not one picture that he has taken was light enough (at 12 noon!) and they are grainy. You are better off waiting for last years model to go on clearance at Target and buy them a real digital for $75. princess:

You could always go to www.tigerdirect.com and get a refurbished one. They are cheaper and have a guarantee. DH gets stuff there all the time and trusts them. He's in computer hardware and systems administration..whatever. Basically he's a computer geek.

 We are on the fence about whether or not to get this for our daughter. I've seen a just a few in a few stores and none in WalMart today. Anyone having trouble finding this? I'm thinking maybe I will just pick one up and if we decide not to give it to her I can return it.

Cinmell,

I would probably go ahead and pick up the pink nintendo ds now while you see it. You can always return it. Last year I had a heck of a time finding the pink DS. If she changes her mind you can return it. It always seems that when my kids decide on something and I don't pick it up. It is usually the gift "they can't live without" :rotfl: Good Luck!

Whew... this thread is huge! Therefore, I don't know if Floam has been discussed previously but wondered how this stuff is to work with. My DD6 sees the commercials for it and begs me for the stuff! For those of you not familiar with it, it is some kind of foamlike stuff that you get in tubs and then press on things to decorate them or make pics etc. Not sure if it is a waste of the coin though... :confused3

I thought floam was cool but my dd(9) says" It smells!" and won't use it. It does have a strong smell- but I used it to make letters for my younger guy and I wrote his name on his mirror- (had to have that smell on my hands though through several washings lol)

I'd recommend no. My son got some last June (he was 6 then) and he decided to see how it looked on his head for some strange reason. The stuff instantly bonded to his hair. He would up with a very, very short haircut. :rotfl:

I'm trying to get a Nintendo Wii. Sadly the preorders were sold out here like at dawn on the day they were taken.

Wow... thanks for the quick responses! Okay, between the funny smell (which my daughter would be very quick to sniff out) and the hair cut story (I can see this one happening in our house too!) I think I may just pass on the Floam!!!! :rotfl: I love this board... real help from real survivors!!!!

My son wants the DS Lite really bad ... so I know we are getting that for him, not sure what else !! :thumbsup2
