HI,

We have reservations in cat III at 5:00 but we can get cat II if we wait until 9:00. The lady at reservations told us all the seats are good so we shouldn't feel like we have to wait. What do you all think, is it worth the wait??
Thanks

All the seats are good, don't worry. Cat 3 are along the balcony, so you will have an unobstrocted view of the stage. Some in you party may have to turn their seats during the show, but I think that would be the same on the lower level anyway. The actors come upstairs and interact just like they do on the lower level.

We had level 3 seating the last two times and loved it. I thought it was better than being on the floor as we have been about 10 other times.

I have two photo albums with pictures if you use this link. One is Hoop Dee Doo review Dec 06 (our seats were right over the stage. The second is in the Christmas 2007 Album and start on page 19.

1) I am sorry, but Cat-3 are the worst seats in the house.
. . . Cat-1 are nearest the stage on the main floor
. . . Cat-2 are the back of the floor and the stage-facing seats in balcony
. . . Cat-3 are in the balcony on the sides and not facing the stage.
2) Why do you think they have Cat-1, Cat-2 and Cat-3?
3) And, why are they different prices - Cat-3 is 20% cheaper than Cat-1?
4) Yes, you can see all the action from Cat-3, but
. . . one-half of the people at your table must turn and/or crank their neck
. . . when there is food or drink on the table, you must turn to eat or drink
. . . some seats will have pillars/posts in their sight line
5) We have done Cat-3 and now will not settle for anything but Cat-1.

NOTE: Lots of people who sit in Cat-3 say they can see everything. But, you can see everything from the "nose-bleed" seats in a football stadium. But, how much do you like those seats? Sure, you are not that far from the action at a theater like HDDR, but Cat-3 are not that great of seats.

We have cat-1 in Dec. There are two in our party, we've never been, will we be seated with other guests or will we have a table to ourselves? I just have to get used to the idea of eating with strangers (not that there's anything wrong with it). Thanks.

I have done Cat 1 and Cat 3 (never 2). We just did Cat 3 a week ago. I will ONLY do Cat 3 from now on. As another poster mentioned, the cast comes upstairs and interacts JUST as much as they interact downstairs. In my opinion, I think we could see better from the balcony. As far as wrenching our necks - that never happened - the stools are all designed to swivel, and the show is done in stages, part of the time you eat, and face your table... and the other part of the time you face the stage. Cat 3 is worth the savings and you won't be sorry.

We prefer Cat. 3. I love being on the balcony. In July, we called the day before and got the cat. 3 seating. When we arrived, we were on the floor
because they didn't want us to be all alone in the balcony. This was for the
9:00 p.m. show. We were not charged extra but I must admit, we were a little
disappointed! :thumbsup2

.....cat. 3 requires that you can maneuver steps. Since it's on the upper level
and there is no elevator or escalator.

You will be seated at your own table.

:thumbsup2 Yep, we had cat 1 and were the 2nd table back all the way on the left (opposite piano) were very close to the action, and had a wonderful view and time.. LOVED the cornbread..

We had Cat 2 seats near the back. It appeared to me that Cat 3 in the balcony would have been able to see just as much or more, and they definetely had as much interaction as we did.

I had the 2nd table, but near the Piano when I was there in September. It was a great view. I wouldn't do cat. 3 because you could end up looking down on the people on stage and that doesn't seem like a good view.

We were a party of 2 and had our own table as well. I don't think anyone shares tables.

Thanks for the photos - they really gave me a good idea of where we will be when we go later this week. It does look like Cat 3 is just fine :cool1:

Hey hill6, did they do anything special for Christmas, other than the decorations I see in your pics? We are going the first week of December, and while did Hoop Dee Doo years ago, are excited to return and do it again! If the show is a litlte holiday themed, more the better! What can you tell me?
