Honey, I Shrunk the Checkbook, Really final, some Feb shots, 7-27, pg82.

Sorry to hear about your DIL. I will keep her in my prayers:goodvibes

Note to self - Don't mention knowing Nebo if eating in Japan;) :lmao:

Poor Diane---that is worst feeling ever when you realized you lose something:hug:

Another great update Nebo....:thumbsup2

But he was helpless, although if he ever saw me again at the Teppanedo drive through I'm sure he would give me a "special sauce" on my order, free on the house.

:woohoo:

one word: Gazoontite

good to "hear" from y'all

So sorry you DIL is having problems guys...we'll keep our fingers crossed things get better. And thanks for all the advice about driving...we usually follow what Rhonda had said only cause we went to school at SIU and know 57 pretty well. But we've never gone thru Atlanta since Mark took the Alabama route last time.

Tracy

DON"T WORRY US LIKE THAT!

You posted this a 8pm and I am first to respond 3 hours and 1 minute later?

Losing your touch there. But I'm still here and that's all that really matters right?

Does it make you happy that I wear socks with crocs.

Go ahead, I know you want to answer like Dr. Suess.

I'll humor you.

You're right Monica, I am losing it. I've found out the "thoughts" chapters never go over too good. Now, about YOUR attire: crocs with socks? Uh uh, not good. Would you even be reading any of this if I posted a picture of me in a fanny pack? I think not. But, Dr. Suess, huh? hmmm,,,,,

You see the crocs, you see the socks
You see I've nothing left to hock,
So many kids in my abode
I look like I've gotten off the boat,

So laugh at me, just don't whisper
I'm not the one with the ugly blister.

Oh thank goodness....:lovestruc

Will-do on the prayers for Laura!

You need to move to Florida so I have somewhere to stay. Will you leave towel animals and chocolates on my pillows?

Would you settle for dust bunnies under the bed?

I think you may be the only man on earth with compassion for love bugs!:)

Not bugs, bug. In particular, the male hanging on for dear life.

smidgy, just get Nebo some toe socks (preferrably striped Dr. Suess style) to wear with his new man sandals!

Nope, not gonna happen

How many Manhattans last night, Steve?

RE: love bugs...in Sept. 06, there were so many love bugs that you couldn't walk 10 feet and talk to the person next to you without ingesting one. They were all over the pool chairs, the bus shelters, they were squished on people's backs and :eeyore:'s....everywhere I say. And I say it's the male who won't let go. The poor female is mentally making out the grocery list wondering when it's gonna be over. But I agree....they really should get a room.

RE: Naked feet....you should get some of those sport sandals. I wore a pair of Keens last Sept. and they are the BEST Disney shoes ever.

RE: the values....I've never stayed at the values but I think I might be too old. I just like the comforts...bigger room, fridge, two sinks, coffee maker, etc. I think it would be OK for a trip for two but I can't see squishing in with big kids like mine. Question? Do you find the beds to be as comfortable at the values? Just wondering.

RE: new digital camera.....would you care to POST some of those pictures? You can leave out the cheerleaders by the pool, ya old perv.

And I'll say prayers for poor Laura. It's awful to be pregnant and sick.

Melinda: How many manhattans last night, Steve? Melinda, this was the post of the month, that obvious, huh? Here's how you tell when the manhattans are going down: I make fewer typos. Yes, it's true, I'm more conscientous,,, consientou,,,conshe,, Aware, of my typing then. by the way, we have found the value beds to be just as comfortable, no difference there. And, my memory card is still snuggled in it's bed in the camera, still haven't messed with it yet, I can just see myself trying to upload 150 pictures into photo bucket, geesh, at 12 minutes a picture, that would take,,,,,, many moons.

Thanks for the Update and the laughs, Nebo! Laura is in my prayers....It's so rought to be sick and PG.
Thanks also for the link on Vista Del Lago...DH likes it too...at this rate we will have to re-name it Vista Del Nebo's groupies!
Anyone know how the schools are there??? I know parts of FL can be iffy school-wise.

hey PM, from what I have heard, the schools there are nothing to write home about, but it doesn't really matter to us, since Diane has almost graduated now.

I'm cool with that...Free Entertainment!

and great neighbors~

Here Here!

We went down the week before cristmas and we saw 5 or 6 of them running around.Just sayin'.;)

Emily, in the summer you can't go 20 feet without seeing 5 or 6 of the lizards, our first trip to CBR had to result in 20 sightings a day, without even lookiing for them. So far, our "uninvited" alligator count is up to 3, one at CS, one off the Dawa Bar in AK, down in the river, and one believe it or not, in the water by Cindie's Castle.

Oh My God! I love my Keens! :lovestruc :lovestruc They are the most comfortable thing EVER! With or without socks :rotfl:

Missy in MN

Ok Missy and Melinda, I've never heard of Keens, don't think it will matter much, feet should be heard and not seen, especially mine. Do they come with matching scar tissue?

I want to move to Florida too.

You know HaleyB, I was about to yell at you, saying you're not far from Disney at all, and then a little map of the states popped up in my mind, and I've got a feeling Austin area is probably 1000 miles away. So, we'll see you at VDL.

Check your email!:thumbsup2

Janet, I did, thank you.

I know what you mean! My son came home from a friends the other day with a sunny d bottle, and I had to fight the urge to taste it to see if it was a Nebo special!:rotfl:

To quote a line from Pink Floyd, "Hey, teacher, leave those kids alone!":rotfl:

I thought for sure he would of came on to wish me a happy birthday. :confused3

Sorry Monica, March 4th was it? As Marita would say, Happy Geburstag to you.

It flurried today, you know... you could have gotten off really easy, if you had followed through...

Any chance MY pre-trip could be one of the 5 you post on?

"Just a minute dear, be right down"

Is there also where he cut Smidgy's arms off? :scared1:

Good one Lbaw, I never noticed it before, I wondered why she kept asking me to tie her shoes.

I dont know whether to hug you guys or give you 500 lashes with a wet noodle for not checking in.

Do you know how worried your friends and foes have been about you? Do you?

OK, I'll give out hugs, glad you are ok, relatively speaking. Pixie dust to your daughter in law, hope all goes well.

Great update, thanks, but much better to know you guys are safe and sound (relatively speaking, of course)

Sorry Marita, and yes, there are foes. One more year for us here, and hopefully, we can exchange our "tourist" title for a "resident" title. Or better yet, "cast member".

Hi Nebo, welcome back.

Wasn't that illuminations holiday tag great! The guy that drives the friendship boats (would that be the Captain? Skipper? ??) told us they use as much explosives in that last 5 minutes as they use in the entire regular show.

pirate:

Now, the tricky part is to remove the finale from you brain, we just watched it in it's "ad normal" stage, and I kept waiting for the finale, that never came.
Nah, it's still good, we even watched it twice again.

Haven't been here for awhile but spent the evening catching up while watching the Blues game.
I didn't realize while I was away that something happened to Smidgy. I'm sorry about the lose of your arms but glad to see that you've adjusted well.

Angela

Yes Angela, it has been tough lately for Diane, ( you oughtta see her fold clothes), but she has got a new career, as third base.

Did you ever consider that maybe you deserve the special sauce? For more than one reason! Don't make us worry like that again. I was going to call today.

Uh uh, "special sauce can come in all kinds of flavors, each one disgusting and no matter how bad someone is, not worth making Nebo puke.

NO! WAY! Now I'm wondering if they're any good? Dangit! I'll get one next time I'm there. Although you and Diane will surely be there 3 or 4 times before I go again.

Not anymore I'm afraid, but this stand isn't open all the time, and again, at 4 bucks a stick,,,,,

We call it the *vomit free* version. And I've played that space race and it WAS fun! Emily and I won thanks to the honeymoon couple that played with us. They seemed a little more video-savvy.

Diane always gets mad at me when I request the "non dying version", based on the boy that had the heart defect before they knew about it, and before Disney put in the newer, tamer version. Glad you like that game also.

You gotta be kidding! Those fiesta margaritas are STRONG and not in need of any fixin up.

Ah, spoken like a true novice

I've never seen a drink kiosk in Morocco? Where is it?

It's just to the America, or center side of Morocco, on the inside of the promenade, (that means not by the lagoon), you can get stronger drinks there, just by asking, but they taste a bit like kerosene.

Anyway....glad you guys are OK. Poor Laura. Is her condition improving? I'm sorry you won't be moving right away but I hope the job with the Lakeland connection comes through. I've already priced condos in Celebration. Wouldn't it be wonderful to live down there?

Take care!

Yes, I'd love to live there, and awfully expensive. You do know that Disney no longer owns Celebration, right?

Sorry to hear about your DIL. I will keep her in my prayers:goodvibes

Poor Diane---that is worst feeling ever when you realized you lose something:hug:

It's ok Janet, she has gotten pretty good at taking care of herself without arms, gotten pretty good with her feet. Just don't ask her to shuffle the cards.

one word: Gazoontite

good to "hear" from y'all

Shawn, that would be the least of the special sauces I'd be afraid of. :rolleyes1

Tracy

Hi Tracy, You know, the Alabama route is the one route we never did, i did the math and it was almost a hundred miles longer, and even though it avoided Atlanta, I didn't like that it would include a long way on a state route, with cars zipping right by you at 70 mph the other way.

somebody hold Rhonda down,,,,,65 is still the quickest, the little slowdown you go through in Louisville and Indy are nothing compared to the shorter drive and increased speed limit. However, if you have the time,,, heading straight east from Indy over by Cincy and on to Lexington, then down, will give you an absolutely better looking drive. It will add about another 85 miles, but you'll go through the Smokies, and end up coming down rt. 95. It's pretty, if not exciting. :woohoo:

Have you been online reading and responding for like.....3 hours?! :confused3

Yee Haa, Nebo's back. You had us worried there for a minute. Or two.

And you met some cool disers, awesome I bet that was fun! Can't wait to hear more about it.

We're sending lot's of good vibes to you, Diane, and Laura, hope you're feeling them.

Miss you, love you.

You name the day and time to leave and even with construction and traffic jams I will be there BEFORE you Neb old boy.....::thumbsup2

Ok Missy and Melinda, I've never heard of Keens, don't think it will matter much, feet should be heard and not seen, especially mine. Do they come with matching scar tissue?

That's the best part, they are like regular shoes! :goodvibes Check them out

http://www.keenfootwear.com/

I have the Newports but they have MANY styles and they are COMFY! Way better than Crocs or those teva sandals or birks :hippie: :rotfl: :rotfl:

See - and if you'd come over and clear the snow off the car, I could be uploading your pics using Comcast internet and be done before you were! I'm really hoping we're done with that this year tho'... :lmao:

Well hello there nebo, I'm in the truck, rememba?
I have to say I am feeling quite comfortably numb ;) (you keep on dropping them there things mr. storyteller, no complaints from me!)
ok, I know it's gettin' old.

Sending sunny thoughts to your DIL

Pretty good, huh? I have absolutely no idea what chapter this would be, so I switched from numeric to alphametic. If I lose track again, I'll have to switch to something else.

Maybe diabetic.

Lady Mar, you can come back in now, just put the remaining ones back under the seat cushion where you found them.
And Monica, I'm sure you look just fine in socks and crocs, I'm just a teasin'.

Sunday morning arroved quite early. (Arroved?) Why not?
Quite early because I never really got into a good sleep, Ol' Pop Warner was in fine form last night.

Diane made another call to the front desk in the night, and she told me she could tell they were getting a lot of calls.

Fine, then DO SOMETHING about it!

Turns out they did which we didn't find out until later.
3 families were kicked out in the middle of the night, for kids fighting. The bizarre part is the two were from Baltimore, and one from Hawaii, or the other way around.

Hawaii? Get out!

Kind of brings a picture to your mind of a kid yelling "I got your Aloha right here"!

Today plans: MGM rope drop, break at the pool, meet up with Jill and John and their friend Kim by the pool, then back to MGM for Fantasmic and the Osbourne Lights.

Now, just to show how incredibly OCD I can be, it was 3 months ago to the minute as I type this that we met up with them at the Dawa Bar in Animal Kingdom for a beer. (eastern time).

But, I digest.

This terrific Sunday morning was met with the news that most of the PW'ers will be leaving today, a cast member told me as I was getting my coffee.

I then asked when the shop opens so I can get a newspaper and she told me in ten minutes, at 7, I had five minutes to wait.

I walked out the front door to the bus stop area to have a smoke, and was in a bit of a sleep-deprived goofy mood, especially after hearing the news about PW leaving.

And what to my wondering eyes should appear?

Are the Magical Express benches, filled with their gear.

I couldn't really tell if these were Pw people or not, it seemed like there should have been more kids, but I didn't care. They all seemed so sad, and I know the feeling. Been there, done that.

If they are regular Disney folks, I feel for them. And if they are PW, well, I can feel for them a bit too, probably had to spend too much of their Disney time watching football games, and now it's time to leave.

After having my smoke, I had to walk right past them to go back inside and I paused. Most have their head in their hands, almost all slumped forward on the bench, some silently weeping. And from around the corner I could see the ME bus making the turn into the Music resort.

One of the doomed also noticed and announced to anyone outloud "Here it comes".

The weeping increased, while some starting grabbing their gear.

Well, I just couldn't resist.

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I feel no fear, for thou art with me. Thy rod and thy staff.."

One guy looked up from the bench and did his best Archie Bunker on me,
"OH SHUT UP YOU"!

I just smiled and went inside and got my paper.

About 15 minutes before it was time to head to the MGM bus stop, Smidgy and I went to have a smoke at the smoking section near the piano pool, only she took the main path, while I went along the room walkway. Her way was shorter, and by the time I got there, she is hugging some strange woman, who turns out to be Jill, also having a smoke.

Soon her husband John and their friend Kim come up, and after introductions, we all then stand around and look stupid wondering what to say. They are going to MGM too, and if we want we can ride with them.

I declined the ride, graciously I hope, I felt like we just met, which we did, and didn't want to impose already on them.

Besides, we still haven't had the "official" meeting yet, that's not supposed to happen until two, and another besides: Hey, they are from Ohio! Cleveland at that! You can never be too careful.

heh

So they drove, we took the bus, but I was looking forward to getting to know them more by the pool. Here's what you are greeted with just outside of the park.

mgm027.jpg

Not a great tree, but a tree nonetheless.

and then just inside on the main drag.

mgm028.jpg

At the park, I've got the schedule firmly set in quicksand.

The first thing I don't want to do is Aerosmith, RNRC. Then I don't want to do Tower of Terror, at least not this early in the morning. I'm always afraid I'm going to lose my glasses on Aerosmith, or lose my coffee or my life on TOT.
But I do know enough to get fastpasses, which I did for TOT while Diane waited in the nearby smoking area. Yes Emily, I did actually do the running once for the fastpasses.

When I got back, Diane is now accompanied by Jill, while she waits for John and Kim to do the coaster. This is when they learned they have a lot in common, Jill loves amusement parks like Diane, but not thrill rides like Diane doesn't either. Smidgy really doesn't like going any higher than her knee, she sometimes gets vertigo standing on a shag carpet.

John and Kim join us and we now have a pre-pre- meeting.

Then we part again and Smidgy and I go to Little Mermaid and Good Movie Ride. THen it's over to Echo lake smoking area, while we wait for the 11 o'clock Indy Stunt Shoe.

Show.

Geesh let's not get started on that again.

Wanna guess who was walking up to the smoking area at the same time we were?

So this has now become a pre-pre-pre- meeting. I'm sure if we had ridden with them and planned the day together we wouldn't have seen as much of them.

We split up again with Jill saying we'll see you by the pool, and I just thought, "yeah, right".

"Or the next smoking area, whichever comes first."

We just got into the Indy show in time before it closed the doors. Ended up seated in the second row, but way over on the right.

Have I told you before that Smidgy was once picked as an extra and spent the show on the stage?

And you know me, the only thing I ever got picked for was a face they kept showing on the screen in Laugh Floor, and that was just recently. I was, the invisible man always at Disney.

Shoot, not just Disney, all through my life, even here at home.
Next to my picture in my high school yearbook, most kids signed it with "Who?"

And as far as "King of the Castle" goes, it should be, "What I say goes!" (right out the window).

But not today. Uh UH! I'm tired, but in the mood for making a jerk out of myself.

Mama always said to do what you're good at.

The girl comes out on the stage, does her thing, and now she is looking for volunteers.

So here's Ol' Nebo, jumping up and down, with his fishing hat on backwards, (like it makes a difference), and acting like I'm trying to get on "Let's Make A Deal".

She walks way over to the left side of the stage, almost right in front of me, (you see, I was sitting on the right side, which would put me on the left side of the stage, you see, her left, then becomes my right, right is left, and left is right, got it? Geesh), and she points right at me!

We're going to take a short break here right now, time for a manhattan, even though the suspense is killing me;

:surfweb: :upsidedow :rolleyes1  :cool1:

Out of her mouth, comes the words; "You there, the one in blue," (I look down, I'm wearing blue!), (boy, I've really got a parenthesees thing going this chapter don't I? Hope you all appreciate the time it takes to find them and hit the shift key at the same time), "Yes, the lady next to the guy in the stupid hat, COME ON DOWN!"

I was aghast, agape, and agog!

Yes, I was so intent on watching the girl on the stage that I wasn't paying any attention to the woman jumping up and down right next to me.

Would anyone care to venture a guess whom that said woman turned out to be?

No, I don't mean Jill, I mean,

indianadiana024.jpg

take a good look, it's our very own,
for an encore performance,

INDIANA DIANA!

I could have killed her.

Three vikes I had been saving bit the dust right there, just in spite.

Without water!

She's now jumping up and handing me her fanny pack and screaming, "Oh me! Again? What are the odds of that?"

I threw her on the stage.

And all I have is a crappy throw away camera with me, the one she just handed me, I had left the Canon in the room. That photo you just saw is the best of the batch, as she was running off the stage at the end.

So I tried to cheer myself up, by taking it out on a kid sitting next to me.
He was wearing a baseball cap, only had it on backwards, like kids do all the time nowadays. So just like I had done once before to a kid, I said to him,
"Hey, that's pretty cool, they put the bill on the back of the hat instead of the front like they normally do, know where I can get one of them?"

He didn't even look at me, next thing I knew he had swithced places with his older sister.

When the show started, I kept hoping they would mistake Diane for the planted guy that gets beat up, but no such luck.

On the way back to Music, I put on my best La La permagrin while I listened to what she had to say.

We changed went down to the pool and our alter egos were already there.

All uncomfortableness was gone now, (is that a word?) and we all got along just great. Kim is very sweet, and John and Jill like to make jabs and cracks just as much as I do. After a while, John said he was going up to the room for a beer, and , not being raised a fool, I said I'd join him, "Always wanted to see what one of the new suites there looked like."

Diane came with so that ended up costing him two more beers than expected. :woohoo:

THe best part was everywhere I looked, you could see people filing out, it was bye bye time for the rest of Pop Warner.

By the way, I think the suites are great for a large family, they knocked down part of the wall, made it two bedrooms and two baths, plus a small kitchenette.

We set up a smoking area meet for an hour from now, to go back and see Fantasmic and the Osbourne Lights. This time since drinking will be involved, we all agreed to take the bus.

turns out we shoulda walked

coming up, Photos? Oy, we have photos, even some of Jill and the group.
later:yay:
