Homemade AUTOGRAPH books! Heres mine, lets see Yours :)

Here is a link to an autograph book I did for my DD a few years ago.

I bought a 4x6 sketch book that has perforated pages. I took that to the parks and had the autographs signed in the book. When I got home, I tore out each page and scrapbooked each with a photo.

Where did you find a sketchbook with perforated pages? That would be easier to carry around than a stack of index cards.

I love all of these! And thanks to PolynesianPrincessjess, I spent last week putting together a shutterfly autograph book for my boys, which is being shipped to me as we speak -- yay!

Does anyone know if Stormtroopers will sign autographs? What would they sign, anyway?

Yea!!! They will have a blast with them!!!

It works great. With the sketch book you don't have loose sheets and the covers keep it all protected in my bag.

They have them in any arts & crafts store in the painting or sketching section. The one I use is 4x6 but they have tons of sizes. I've used one book on several trips since I tear out the ones I use for the trip and whatever is left gets used the next time.

DznyDrmz-- that is AMAZING! Love it! The only problem is that we've never been to World Showcase (this trip will be our first visit since our kids are older) and I don't have any photos for the countries. Does anyone have any ideas where I might fight some I could use??? Of course-- we leave in about 2 weeks so I need to work fast! :scared1:

You can do a search in Photobucket or just a regular google image search for "Italy Epcot" and you should get some hits. You have to find stuff that isn't copyrighted or that has watermarks and is a large enough file that it won't be pixalated.

Thank you. :goodvibes

Does anybody know if the autographs will stick to glossy paper or if it will smear?

So after two weeks of making photobooks in secret - I just splaced my order with snapfish! I used mycokereward points to get two photobooks. They come with leather covers, too, and using that code saved me fifty dollars! I just had to pay 9.00 for shipping. Woohoo!! I can't wait! I taylored each book for my two oldest dds, and I'll just get a small paper one for dd2.5 to use. She really won't get the idea, but I am going to have a notebook on stanby just in case, since she likes to do everything her big sisters do.

Yea!! Let me know how the characters react. I know they'll get some great moments from their books!! Have fun!

It did fine on the photo book paper. We used Sharpies.
My only concern with using sharpies is they aren't archival quality. If you plan to save your book, you might want to use scrapbooking type pens. They say if you use sharpies to label cd's the ink can eventually effect the quality of the cd. Just something to mention, not trying to be negative or anything. Sharpies were my first thought but then I thought they might not last as long as I would like them to.

I have Sharpie signed yearbooks from the late 80s/early 90s. They've done fine. Honestly, we'd probably lose the books in a move or something before the ink did anything to them. Unless, of course, Sharpie has decreased its quality over the years.

I love all the tips in this thread! I'm making my aurograph books now, using balnk index cards, binder rings & stickers.

My tip to add: I was able to pick up a handful of Disney storybooks for next to nothing at used book shops and yard sales. I've been cutting pictures out of them for characters I can't find stickers for. They look great!

I used the idea on here of the photobook and I used the autograph cards of the creative DISigns board. Thanks for all the ideas!
Here are some pictures. . .

Great job!!!

We never did get around to making home-made ones. One year we had the characters only sign the right side pages and then when we got home I printed photos of my kids getting those exact autographs and pasted them on the left side page.

So on any two pages when the book is open you'd have the Autograph and a pic from that character greeting.

This is what we do. We decorate the covers before leaving and then add pictures of the character with the child, or stickers of the character on the opposing page once we get home. It makes the magic last a little longer when we decorate them after the trip. The kids get to remember getting each signature as we put the books together.

I didn't physically make DS's, but I digitally created it...

I made a photo book from pictures from DS's previous trip. He got ridiculous amounts of character interaction. I started to feel sorry for the people in line behind us because each character was enthralled with his autograph book. I tried to hurry things along, but the characters, handlers and even those poor people behind us were crazy about the idea! Meeko at AK took the book and walked away from the handler!! :lmao:

So, each character had his/her own page, and I made generic pages in the back for characters DS hadn't met. I already had books made for DS and DNiece for our September trip. :woohoo: DS loves to show off his book, and has taken it to show and tell a couple of times.

Here are a few characters perusing the book...Meeko loved the pic of Pocahontas, Alice pointed out all of her friends and Mary Poppins told DS how excited she was to be in the next book (since this was the first time he met her).

I just want to Thank you again for sharing this idea. I just got a free photobook offer from Shutterfly and making the digital book of my son last 4 trips to Disney. We can't wait for his fifth trip with an amazing signature book but I couldn't do a character per page b/c he has too many so I tried to do theme on each page (character meals...CP, CM, Tusker House character buffet, Hollywood and Vine, Cape May and CRT. Then 4 pages at each park...power ranger has one page, Epcot connection one page and characters from the differnt countries, then Toontown). I'm having so much fun doing this digital and I can't wait for my son to use it as an autograph book and its for free just have to pay shipping.:)
