Hollywood Studios a bust today 10/21

They’re also working on splash next year in January so I’m hoping they are really working hard to fix the machinery like you said.

Yep. I saw that rumor too. It hasn’t been confirmed by Disney, but it was enough to get me to book a campsite for one night (to get the 60 day window) as all the FP+ had been taken already for the first few days it was to be reopened.

Though I'm sure this was frustrating...I wouldn't hold out until SW opens. I imagine that the crowds will be killer at that point. I hope I'm wrong but...

I had an experience like this a few years ago at AK, pre-Pandora. I had an early Wild Africa Trek scheduled,so I planned to do everything else I wanted to do during morning EMH. I was going to skip Kilimanjaro Safaris because I was going to do the Trek. EE was down, Dinosaur was down, they weren’t turning people away from PW, but there was a long line and the ride wasn’t running. The only thing open was Triceratops Spin. I ended up riding that a couple of times out of desperation, then headed back to EE, which was still down. The cast member at EE was directing everyone to KS (it had also been down), which was the one thing I wasn’t planning to visit. This was a short trip and I had other plans for the afternoon and evening, so this was quite disappointing.

It makes you feel like there is nothing you can do to fix the mess. Just pack up and leave.

Very true. I'm hoping though that with a long trip and fast passes, I'll manage to experience the attractions I'm interested in.

MGM is still worth visiting if you have Park Hoppers or an AP or you’re one of those folks who doesn’t see the shows as one and done (VOTLM, BATB, Frozen, Muppets).

I can hit it in the morning, ride everything I like that they haven’t closed (RIP GMR, BLT, HISTK, and a coherent theme) yet and do another park in the afternoon. MGM pairs well with Epcot since both are for many folks half day parks and they’re right next to each other.

I know how you feel, what a big letdown. This happened to us as well, in AK on the Saturday before Labor Day. We got up early just to get on FOP and Navi, specifically for those rides. Both rides were broken down that morning. Those were the only two rides we really wanted to see and they were both down. We did get on them after 2 pm though. I overheard an elderly man tell a CM that Disney should give him a partial discount on his ticket because those two new rides were down and he wasn't getting his money's worth.

I agree with that man.

I don't think they should just have to roll with the punches.
We experienced the same thing in September - rides were down far too often, and we were evacuated from two rides during our trip. Almost three, but my husband lucked out and was just about to get onto Space Mountain when it went down. That means either we have very bad luck, or things are going down far too often. We pay the same amount of money for our tickets as the people who maybe don't visit as often. We should all be equally upset about maintenance issues. Rock N Roller Coaster was down at rope drop for us, too. I am all about safety and clearly don't want it open if something is wrong. But if things are going wrong this often they need to figure out why and refurb the ride to fix it properly.
Agree. We were there in September too and personally evacuated off TTA twice and after an hour spaceship earth. Both those rides were down multiple times just during our 11 days. If there’s that much problems FIX It.
