Holiday Shopping ..

Lovely clothes, Gaynor! I agree with Mandy, the silk top from Warehouse is gorgeous!!! :goodvibes

well having made me totally jealous - as I (unlike everyone here and the rest of the civilised world) have NO shops on my island and have to fly 5 hours to get to the nearest mall :headache: I have to online order and have it flown here (all from the states).

This means buying from shops I am totally trustworthy of in terms of their sizing so this leaves me with only a few options but heres what I've ordered this month for the rest of the year and obviously to take on vaca with us to the US and UK in the fall ...

from JCrew:
3 pairs of these chino's in White, Black and chino

From Polo:
I got 8 of these (not in this color!)

from Macy's:

from Crew UK:

and 3 of these in different colors

From Reef:
4 pairs, 2 white, 1 light blue, 1 pink

I got some bikini tops ordered too but cant find the link to them anymore - anyway there were 10 tops (I get through a lot of them being out here!)

I live in summer stuff all year round so really for vaca I get some cooler season clothing as we get chilly in the US and UK so need to be kept warm!

I'd have to do the 5 hour flight at least once a month to get a shopping fix :rotfl:
Why don't you bring an empty suitcase to the UK and have a shopping spree when you visit, like we do when we visit Florida? :lmao:

I think we should start a book club thread where we can pass on recommendations for books or even pass on books? :thumbsup2

Thats a good idea...we could do some kind of swap too, not sure how that could work though?

Some lovely clothes on here! I keep trying not to look at this thread as I want to lose weight before I buy anything new.

I save that for the US;) Every store in Miami awaits my once yearly shopping trip arrival LOL!

I do a little bit of shopping in the UK - about 1 suitcase full - mostly things like M&S undies, Clarks shoes for the kids and bits and pieces like marmite and mint sauce!

as some of you know- i work at Matalan.. anyway their sale starts tomorrow.
I dont know whats in it myself yet, until i go into work tomorrow.
but apart from the sale Matalan have some really nice clothes in at the moment- I have bought a lovely sundress-a size smaller than what I am now ;) they have tinkerbell t-shirts in which are quite nice, one is in pink the other in grey, think they are £8.

I seem to have spent the whole weekend shopping :rotfl:

Yesterday I went in to Manchester and bought this pink linen skirt and top from Next

And this top from Peacocks

Then today I went to Cheshire Oaks a designer outlet village where I got some real bargains.

The cropped linen trousers above from Jane Norman (not a shop I normally go in as I find the sizes really unforgiving)

The dress below from Monsoon

I always take a Jodi Picoult books - and a pack of tissues!

I think we should start a book club thread where we can pass on recommendations for books or even pass on books? :thumbsup2

I'm a Jodi Picoult addict at the moment! And I agree, book club thread :cheer2:

I find her offerings very erratic, some I've loved and others I've never managed to stick with. Yes, lets have a book club thread. There was one on the main community board last year but it failed as people were unabled to get all the books - some were released in US before UK and vice versa, other people only wanted to read ones they could get from the library - but I hope if we start one for UK readers it would be a lot easier.

Is anyone holiday shopping this weekend ?

If so, don't forget to let us know (with pics if possible) and have fun

Sadly no holiday shopping, i am hoping to get a new top for going out tomorrow night, i will post a pic if i get it :thumbsup2

I bought a sarongy type cover up from Primark on Monday. Came home and tried it on over jeans which looked strange, I am hoping it looks okay over my swimsuit.:)
