Holiday Lights & Magic December 2013

I so hear you on the Holiday magic. I love Christmas already so oh my this will just blow me away I think. Enjoy your trip...make sure you do not eat all the Mickey shaped items...leave some for us.

I know what you mean ... This is one of those things that I never thought could ever happen for us - Disney at Christmas. I have a feeling I'll be crying my eyes out for most of our trip ... Last trip I cried 7 times (I am NOT a crier!!) I'm sure I could cry 7 times at the Candlelight Processional alone!!

That Tink dress is ADORABLE by the way .. tell your mom she's got a fan club!

Love the tink costume! I am going to venture to say it may be the best I have seen! I can't wait to see what your mom does with that Minnie fabric! It looks so fun!

I've been reading along, but am behind on comments.

I don't think you could have chosen a more perfect resort for Christmas at WDW.

Your dining plans look awesome. I love that your daughter is involved in the planning. That must be so fun.

Congratulations on your husband's new job!

How wonderful that your mom can sew! Your daughter's tinkerbell costume is adorable. :lovestruc I hope you post a picture of her as Periwinkle.

Mom mom beamed when I mentioned the sweet comments you left about her costume. I have been blessed with her my whole life but I mean it truly when I say her best work has been for her grandchildren...they inspire her. She even was able to make an ice cream cone costume for my niece...looking for the picture to share.

In our world all Disney. Periwinkle will hopefully be finished by Friday. There is an event for Disney Visa card holders at our local Disney store on Saturday and she is hoping to be Periwinkle...if not last year's Merida costume will work out. Thought I would share a few more photos that show off my Mom's handi work.

Rapunzel & Belle (for me) at 2010 MNSSHP & Cinderella walking up the stairs to eat at CRT in 2009...she is so little here to me.

Joining in!! We will be there The second week in December.

Congratulations to your hubby on his new job!!! I cannot begin to imagine the stress that has been lifted.

So jealous on the room upgrade, but not as jealous as DH. It is his dream to stay at WL!!

We are so excited about the room. We so thought my daughter would want the princess room but when she saw the WL she was hooked. Thanks for joining in.

Because we are Disney Visa card holders we got invited to the special Halloween gathering at the local Disney store coming next Saturday. How exciting a chance to wear the Periwinkle costume another time....

IF IT CAN GET MADE.

Well Grandma is on a mission to have it finished in time so she came over today to measure and worked with a paper pattern she created, plus a drawing. Have I mentioned I think my Mom is amazing the way she creates patterns and just goes for it.

A few hours later she was back with the leaf top piece of the costume. She had to make sure it looks okay and fits well... so so awesome and my daughter could not be more excited about wearing it ext week. I will be sure to share pictures form the fun event and other Halloween happenings next weekend. I also have been doing some crafting for this trip and have some things I need to take pics of and share.

SOOOOOOO excited.
:woohoo:

LET'S CELEBRATE! WE ARE PAID IN FULL AS OF TODAY!!!!

YAY for being paid in full. I got the same email for card holders. I can't wait to see the finished product on her costume.

Periwinkle costume is complete & read for tomorrow's fun at the Disney Store.:cool1: Wonder how many people will be in attendance???

I will so share pictures of that later this weekend.

___________

Today logged in to My Disney Experience and we are now able to customize our Magic Bands!!! I actually woke daughter up to ask her what color she would like...as if I did not know it was pink. One step closer to those. We are going to have them shipped to her as a fun opening experience. :cheer2:

___________

I have a fun fun Disney craft project to share tomorrow. :rotfl: Something my hubby thought would be fun so I made it for our trip. I will share tomorrow with all.

I'm over here from MY PTR, and realized that I had already read yours but just didn't comment! I was watching it because you were commenting in Teekathepony's PTR and anytime I follow one I usually go through everyone's TRs and PTRs.

Yes, there is a LOT of talent in those costumes. Some people think you can just pull out a sewing machine and figure out how to do those kinds of costuming projects but I'm here to say it's NOT easy! I have a sewing machine but I can only do simple things on it - I can hem or something easy like that, but nothing as cool as what you've got in here!

So if your daughter is getting a pink MB, what color are YOU getting? Are you doing FP+?

Kids love bunk beds. :)

I saw the link to your trip report and decided to follow along. :) I'm curious to see how Christmas is at MK. You have some great plans. :thumbsup2

You'll find the boats to be really convenient for traveling back and forth to MK. You can escape the crowds easily if it gets too crazy over at the parks.

We are going to be at the WL the first week of December. One of the things we are looking forward to is going over to Fort Wilderness to check out the Christmas decorations at the campsites. They are supposed to be really nice. :)

I am so lucky to have my Mom. She always says she is not sure how she is going to do it and than this amazing costume comes out.

I am getting green for my Magic Band I think and we are going to do Fast Pass+ to help us out, but we also know we will wait in lines if we do not get them so fingers crossed...We are hoping to be able to make selections in a few days after the 60 day mark hits

We are so excited about the boats. We took the boat form Hollywood to Epcot last visit and loved the ease of it plus a little more relaxing we felt.

Thanks for joining in!

My husband got the idea that we should find a way to celebrate all the Amazing Cast Members we encounter on our Disney trip. We have had some great Cast Member interactions on our trips and he thought a great way to add to the memories would be a Cast Member Autograph Book.

I thought it would be a fun way to add to our Disney Magic as well. So I made this simple autograph book just for the clerks, bus drivers, waiters and more that we encounter on this upcoming trip.

That's an interesting idea that could be a lot of fun! And you're right, it will definitely add to the memories. You should let them sign and then write in why, so you have the full memory when you look at it in the future! Or, do you have other plans for it?

What a nice idea. :) We met the nicest CM's when we were at the WL last February. ::yes:: You'll have to let us know how this nice gesture works out. :goodvibes

We are doing Disney for Christmas this year too! A first for us at Christmas time... Arriving the morning of the 23rd and flying back the evening of Jan 1st. So excited! We have many ADR's booked! Got everything we wanted... BOG, Tusker, CP package, Dessert Party, Fantasmic package, Crystal Palace.... And a few others!

Thanks everyone. My husband talks to a cast member who works at Garden Grill and she is thinking of requesting to work on Christmas Eve so she can meet us and sign the book. How fun would that be?

The plans is to write the story in on one page or under the signature and hopefully add some photos as well. Very excited for this.

We have a few of those same ADR's and could not be more excited about them. In fact we are doing all of those except Dessert Party - there was not time for us for that as we are doing a lot more meals as well with the free dining. It is our first Christmas visit as well.

I miss the Disney Store SO MUCH. Your mom is so talented!!!

What a super cute idea!! Not only will that be a great memory for all of you, but I'll bet that will make the CMs feel really special, too! I was planning on making a book for Epcot to get signatures from the CMs from all the different countries... I may need to expand that idea!

Funny story... my sister and I are HUGE sports fans. When we were younger, we frequently went to Buffalo Bills training camp to get player autographs. My sister was blessed by the "friendly and outgoing" gene that skipped over me :upsidedow After we got an autograph from a player, she would always offer to give hers to them. They LOVED it.
