Holiday Lights & Magic December 2013

It is hard being so far away form our special Disney trip, but we are trying to keep busy and distracted with all sorts of fun activities and wish making. We are keeping our fingers crossed for Magic Bands and Fast Pass+ but regardless it will be amazing.

To stay busy we turn out countdown each day and often find some Disney distractions. We also had a great family distraction last weekend when my cousin got married. Cute flower girls and all....

And Halloween is right around the corner. What to be what to be? My daughter has dressed up Disney all but her first Halloween. She thought long and hard...seeing as this costume will travel with us for her to wear while we visit. She decided...after hearing maybe she might be in the parks during the winter months...
Tinerbell's twin sister, Periwinkle was selected. My mom will make the costume with out a pattern but my niece had a doll that is super helpful right now for this costume.

Other distractions and things to look forward to for all of us include:
- Uncle visiting for a week
- Halloween
- Pink! Concert Tickets (for me!!)
- Our 10th wedding anniversary
- Thanksgiving
- Play auditions (I direct the play at my the school I teach at)
- tons of Disney crafting (I already made a gift card holder for Christmas morning)

Looks like we will stay busy and excited for all the days to come. Thanks for visiting. I know not many are following along but it is fun to write the report and share.

I finally caught up! Oh my gosh what a trip!!!

For the record we are huge board game fans as well!

I love that you guys are going at Christmas, how fun! The thought of waking up at Disney in your Christmas pajamas!

We loved rope drop. I think I may have shed a happy tear or two!

Oh and I Love Love Love the countdown. It is one you can use year and year again!

Also, I cannot wait to see pictures of wilderness lodge at Christmas. I will be following your TR for sure!

Double digits are really helping me get by right now. Each day is closer and closer and closer to the trip. Even my students know to remind me when they see me stressed or upset over something another student is doing...funny how they pick up on that.

PLEASE SKIP IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE MY STRESS. NEEDED A SAFE PLACE TO ADD A QUICK RANT...I soooooooo need this Disney Vacation

Getting a job is way stressful. Forgive my small rant right now.....

My husband has been looking for a new job for about 3 months...and I know that is not that long, but we went though all of this about a year and a half ago after his old sales job decided to expand with too much travel for him (him only being home for 1 maybe 2 nights a week was so not going to work, even if he was one of the company top sellers) so now it just feels like torture. The last job he had was really just to get him out of the house but now just trying to get an interview is hard.

We are so so so lucky so I should not complain. I am a teacher who makes a very good salary and has job security as well so we only need him to work about 30 hours a week, but it is frustrating that with all the online applications he can not get an interview....have him talk to someone and BAM 2 interviews this week.

Please just keep your fingers crossed.

HE GOT THE JOB!! Sometimes things just work out. I saw a sign at The Walking Company on Sunday (he has over 10 years experience in selling footwear and insoles). On Monday night I finally remembered to tell him. How I forgot about this sign after my quick shopping trip I do not know but regardless... He went in on Tuesday and they interviewed him on the spot after looking at his resume on Wednesday afternoon they called to hire him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I can say is thank you whoever sent us some good karma and luck. One of the other interviews basically canceled and the other wanted full time travel (love how that was not in the ad!) I am now convinced just needed some time to get mad about the whole thing and get the bad energy out of my system so things could work out.

NOW....back to our Disney planning. Fabrics for the Perwinkle costume have been bought and grandma is sewing away.. more details on that soon.

Now autograph books???? Have some deciding to do on these as well.

Just found your report. I have found it so much fun to read. I enjoy reading reports, but have yet to make one myself. We haven't been to Disney for two years, so I have been on a countdown myself for awhile! LOVE the Wilderness lodge - we stayed there in 2008 and then decided to join DVC after that. Haven't been back there since- but would love to try and stay in one of the DVC villas there sometime.

Great report!!!! I have always wanted to go at Christmas, but I do not like crowds. So one of these years I will need to plan an early December trip.

The Wilderness Lodge looks SO amazing and I would expect it would just be absolutely breathtaking at Christmas. I'm glad you were able to work it all out!

Thanks for joining in. We are super excited about Wilderness. It was our dream resort and not part of the original plan due to cost, but with free dining...YEAH. I have a feeling that at the holidays we will be so happy.

I love our countdown so thanks. I love that I can use it over and over. Hopefully never will have to wait more than 999 days for a Disney trip.

I must be lucky lucky because I have a Mom who can sew and loves to do so. She has made all but 2 of my daughter's Halloween costumes (and all of her costumes except one was Disney!!) and when we have traveled to Disney she had created extra costumes as well. The Tinkerbell costume she made for our first trip is still one of my favorites.

This year for Halloween my daughter is going at Periwinkle, Tink's sister. When we were out shopping for fabric we came across this cute Minnie material with elastic in it. My Mom is going to make a fun skirt for my daughter to wear with legging on the plan and for our first night when we have dinner with Mickey and friends and Chef Mickey's.

Hoping to get her to make a few other fun items as well for this trip. With 3 grand daughters now she gets a little busy wit the sewing this time of year.

I don't think you could have chosen a more perfect resort for Christmas at WDW.

Your dining plans look awesome. I love that your daughter is involved in the planning. That must be so fun.
