History of DINGS Fares for Orlando

Explain how it works please. I know that if I book a flight and then the price goes down, I can just go in and change my flight and get the credit....this is without DING. But if it is a DING fare, don't you actually have to cancel your original ressie to get the DING fare?? This is why you are suggesting booking the legs seperate right? Because if one leg goes down, the other might have gone up and you are stuck really.

We did a major bozo move and didn't book a great Ding fare a couple weeks ago because we weren't sure if the trip was a go or not. Well now we know we can go and the fares are outrageous. Does anyone know if they ever release the same Ding twice?

We are traveling STL to MCO in May.

I know that I have seen the PHL-MCO come up more than once. Sometimes come out two weeks before the travel dates. At least that is how it was in January. I don't know if May would be the same, since it is getting into more of the travel season.

i agree. today, i clicked on the link for phl to jacksonville, and it said travel dates included april 11 to end of may. well, there were only april 8-12 dates showing on the drop down box at the 'book now' link...what's with that, i figured there would be a month of days to choose from, not just a weeks worth. I went and reread the link and it definitely said for travel april 11 til end of may.

You used to be able to save really big with a Ding, but when looking at Chicago/Midway the other day I saw that the Ding fare was $92.00 while the regular cheapest fare was $99.00 a savings of only $8.00 each way where I think it used to be around $20.00 each way.

I am starting to get really nervous. Between Dings being few and far between and no AP rates out I am begining to think our trip may not happen. Things are just so much more money this year than last.
