We'll be there Sunday!

The DH and I are taking in HHI for the first time during the third week of September :cheer2: We are wait listed for a Tuesday night (were able to book Wed-Thur-Frid) but really wanted the Tuesday night stay as well---anyone ever wait listed at HHI and had any luck? We are flexible and said we'd take either a one bedroom or studio.
Really excited about this trip. The DH and I have had a hard year, both work related and healthwise and have a December trip planned for WDW. December is a long time away and we feel like we both could use a little R&R before then. These posts are great and really helped us decide to try HHI.

We used the discounted cash ressie for the one day we were missing. Just a thought!

Best wishes,
Tom :sunny:

Really??? We arrive Saturday evening... I have a bit a line green ribbon on my swim suits and multi colored hair.... look for us around the pools.... lol

Since we are newbies to the HHI Resort, we have several questions about the shrimp boil mentioned in these posts several times. When does it occur, is it seasonal, when does it stop, where do you attend, etc. there doesn't seem to be a large amount of accesible information about the activities around the area ( of course except for the great info posted on this link)!!!! Thanks to All!

Bumping for those who want to know what to do at HHI.
Thank you to those who have contributed to this thread. I love reading
it. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. :yay: :yay: :yay:

We're looking forward to trying HHI next summer... Just subscribing so I don't miss anything. Thanks to all of the previous posters for your great tips! :)

Subscribing also. Hoping to have our DVC points soon so we can make reservations for next summer also.

And we plan to try HH next April. I know it won't be as warm, and there won't be fireworks, but it should be relaxing!

We will be in HH for the first time--the first week in October. Anyone else????
We are so looking forward to it. This thread is great!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

Thanks to everyone for posting such great information on this thread -- we will be there soon for a long weekend, even though it is January :)
Has anyone been down there during either January/February? What's it like -- are there still a fair amount of resort activities going on?

We were down there just last Friday, Jan. 5th . We wish we could have stayed on through until Sunday because Saturday's weather was gorgeous but DD had a party to be back for. It was very quiet. And just so you know, most of the shops and restaurants across the way were closed . The only one open when we were there was the Italian one and I'm not crazy about it. This may be different but I have a feeling they probably all do this time of year. We were going to San Miguels, but we were just as happy b/k we ended up at Santa Fe just close to the Palmetto Dunes entrance and it was wonderful. A little pricey though but worth it.

I think they still had activities planned. We were going to do the campfire but it rained that night so of course they did not do that then. But they still had a list of activities that were going on each day. Hope this helps. It was nice and peaceful and a good change from the fun, but craziness we experienced at Disney World this time.

Have a great time. Wish I were going again!

Thanks for posting back!
We're looking forward to HH being pretty quiet this time of year -- I do hope to find some places to eat open, though -- I would rather not cook the whole time we're there, lol!
Thanks, again, reesecup.

Ksp,

I meant to tell you also, that Tide me Over was opened as usual. I think same hours not sure though. And I'm not sure about anything with the beach house. The gift shop was open around 8 and closed at 6 so I'm also not sure if that is different hours. The lady (the kids called) was very nice and gave each of them a pin. DS just bought a lanyard this trip and has just started so it was a very kind gesture! We just love HHI . I hope to do a small add on there at some point.

Reesecup,
I'm glad that Tide me Over is open -- we'd be stuck without that!

I did get a letter from HH re pool maintenance. During our stay the main pool will close, while the beach pool will remain open. Once the main pool work is finished, it will reopen and the beach pool will be closed.

You know, we need a pin from HH; I don't think that we have any! I hope your son enjoys pin collecting/trading -- we do.

I don't know if I could ever talk my husband into a HH add on; he has got it into his head that he doesn't like the resort. The kids and I enjoy it, though!
Thanks again!

Reesecup, we checked in on the 6th so we just missed you! As for the HHI pin, when we were at the gift shop, they had a sign posted with a question. I answered the question correctly (it was Walt Disney Trivia), and was given a LE Hilton Head island 10th anniversary pin. So give it a go when you go to the gift shop.

If you haven't already, you may want to check out the TTS website, I was strolling through, dreaming of a bigger contract earlier in the week, and I actually saw a 50 pt contract for HH that looked pretty good----may be just what you're looking for. :)

Oh, wow! We left about 9:30 on the 6th. I bet you guys had a wonderful time b/k the weather was gorgeous that day!

And that was the pin they gave my dd and ds... maybe they answered the question. She just told them to not trade it b/k it was a limited edition. Hope you guys had a great trip!

Oh, I wish. A 50 pt contract would be perfect but we are on a really tight budget right now. I may just try and check it out anyway though. Thanks for the heads up!
