Hilton Head in January

Hi, just wondering if anyone has gone to Hilton Head in January before and what activities are available at the resort. We will be staying there for two nights only (on our way home from our 4 night cruise) and I was just curious if there will be any Goofy Bingo, campfires, etc. I would love to hear from anyone who knows. Thanks.

We were there last Jan for six nights and there were activities everyday. They are scaled back from the summer season, but it was nice to get the individual attention during the activities. I wouldn't hesitate going to HH in the winter. It was very peaceful and relaxing. You may want to bring some videos from home, the selection in the store is a little weak. We braved to pool everyday, and almost always had it to ourselves. The kids enjoyed the hot tub also. Have fun...Johnnie

Thanks for responding and for the video suggestion. What were the ages of your kids? Do you have any restaurant suggestions? Did you walk to the restaurants?
Was the pool heated? I didn't realize it would even be open!
Did you feel Disney "magic"? Was the campfire one of the activities? Sorry for all the questions

I have a copy of the January Activities schedule I received when I went to HHI a couple of years ago. Although it is dated, it still shows the types of activities they have. We're headed there the last week in January - our fourth January at DVC HHI.

I added your site to my favorites and will definitely copy down your clues for the treasure hunt! My kids will love that. HH is our "home" resort too, but we have never been there. Glad to hear that January is a nice time to be there. We will be heading back from our 4 night cruise and I thought it would be a nice way to relax before getting home and starting school and work again.
We may even see you and your wife, because we will be there Jan. 30 and 31!

We will also be there on those 2 dates as we are also returning from the 4 day cruise. We just returned from BCV and a 3 day cruise and the drive home was too long. So this time we are breaking up our trip and stopping at Hilton Head. Cant wait. See ya there.

Isn't that funny that we have the same thought about travelling home! Are you going with children? What are their ages? Mine are 15, 13, 11, and 8. All boys except the 11 yr. old. Will you be going to WDW this trip prior to the cruise? We are not, because I'm trying to keep missed school days to a minimum, although I would love to plan a few days at the parks especially since it's the off season for crowds! We are really looking forward to our first cruise!

We just returned from BCV on Sunday and took the 3 day cruise at the end of the previous week. I have 4 year old twins and a TV in my mini-van. We dont need to go back to Disney for a few years but I thought it was a good idea to take this cruise opportunity at a very discounted price as we booked it on our last cruise.

The Jan activities were scaled back, but they still had goofy bingo, priates treasure hunt, unbirthday party, bedtime stories, campfire, etc. Since you have 4 kids, it helps add to the activity crowd. Some activities when we were there were attended by just a handful. The pools are heated so no problem using them, it just depends on how brave you are. Our kids (2 and 4) even splashed in the ocean surf (very chilly). If your kids like them, bring some board games etc. It is a great opportunity to relax and play them. I can't comment too much on the restaurants. We ate in. There is a Craker Barrel about a 1/2 mile from HHI resort. Most restaurants will require a car trip. Have fun....Johnnie.

Thought i would help you with a few suggestions on actvities for January. Keep in mind that it will be quite a bit cooler in HH than on your cruise. They will be offering most of what they have now; Goofy Bingo--Gyotako--Treasure hunts(tommy's is worth doing) Chef Gordons Private Affair--Dolphin Cruises(dress warm and ask for Capt. Mike)and kayaking. Hope this helps out, have a great time!!!
