Remeber I posted about my next door neighbor placed Obama Posters on their lawn.

Well anyway I told her allllllll about Obama....Brought up the points about that there is conspiculously NO ONE from his past who he has helped.

About throwing his Grandma under a bus,

His speech regarding racisim was telling everybody else what is wrong with them, and he is somehow above it all.

..and his qote about meeting the Farmer in Idaho and was "SHOCKED" that the farmer knew about Burma.

I also pointed out that the people supporting him are all other politians....Where are the regular folk that are his contituency! (that sealed the deal)

Seems like the Obama people sold her a bill of goods and she bought it 'lock stock & barrel"!:rolleyes1 She said they told her that he will end the war & bring everyone home by March of 09! He will cut middle class taxes by 15% & Have everyone on FREE National Health car by the summer of '09!!!!!!!!

I spent hours emailing her articles.!:lmao:

Anyhoooooooooooo...She took all the Obama posters down and will now vote for Hillary in our PA Primary....AND is making me a peach Upside sown cake!:yay:

I wonder how many others who dont really keep up with all this stuff, are being sold a bill of goods, and buying into it!:sad2:

DisUnc - educating voters one at a time!!

I love it!! :)

wow she really did get sold a bill of goods. That was like a friend of mine that heard that Bill called Obama the N word and so he decided not to vote for Hillary. He is black. After, I was like  what...I set him straight. However it was to late by than because he had changed his vote to Obama. Someone told him this as he was standing in line to vote. He as told a few other non true things.

He said if I had known that I would have kept my original vote that was for Hillary. It amazes me how many people vote yet have no idea what they are voting on :confused3 I could not imagine voting for the POTUS and not doing my homework. I wonder what the stats are on voters that don't do homework first and just vote for a pretty face.

Id hillary and Obama still going to do another debate? The date was changed ut last I read Obama was not sure if he could make it.

I caught something about a debate yesterday on tv, but I didn't hear when. If someone knows please post it here.

I agree, we need to get DISUNC to go to work convincing people. Sounds like he's got what it takes. Maybe Hillary will hire him? ;) Keep up the good work.

I'm still working on my brother. He's a Democrat. (Remember, my whole family is Democrats from way back and our grandmother would turn over in her grave if she knew!) He was for Edwards and wrote in his name at the primary. Now, he's seriously thinking of voting for McCain. He's always liked him and says he's a war hero, etc. If he can't have Edwards he thinks he'll vote for his next favorite. :scared: My mother and I are in total shock. She keeps sending him emails and calling him on the phone. Every chance I get I talk about Hillary and why I think she'll be a good POTUS. Of course, my SIL is a Hillary supporter, so if she can't get through to him, I probably can't either. But I intend to keep trying. Maybe I need to give DISUNC his number.

Did your neighbor actually believe all that stuff? Good Lord, when will people realize that Obama is just a politician like anyone else and he will not deliver on most of his promises. One of the reasons I like Hillary is that she is more likely to be able to get things done when she is elected. Obama will be too busy making speeches and telling everyone why they are wrong and he is right.

I wish that you could. You sound like you could convince a lot of people. :thumbsup2

It's tuff...But I can do it!

YUP she did. Many people are falling for the "OBAMA tells us how wonderful he is so we believe it" stuff!:confused3

Wow...so, you lied to the woman, and you're proud of that? :sad2:

All truths here, No lies at all!

Speaking of lies, do you remember posting this on this very thread:
Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term - 6yrs. - and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law - 20 - twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years.

These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress www.thomas.loc.gov, but to save you trouble, I'll post them here for you.

1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.

2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.

3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.

5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.

6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea.

7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.

8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day.

9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death.

10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.

11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.

12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Program.

13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.

14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death.

15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who lost their lives on duty. Only five of Clinton's bills are, more substantive. 16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.

17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11 18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.

19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.

20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.

There you have it, the fact's straight from the Senate Record.

Now, I would post those of Obama's, but the list is too substantive, so I'll mainly categorize.

During the first - 8 - eight years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills. He introduced

233 regarding healthcare reform,

125 on poverty and public assistance,

112 crime fighting bills,

97 economic bills,

60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,

21 ethics reform bills,

15 gun control,

6 veterans affairs and many others.

His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These inculded **the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 - became law, **The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, - became law, **The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate, **The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, - became law, **The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, In committee, and many more.

In all, since entering the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096.

An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no record according to some who would prefer that this comparison not be made public.

****The above was posted on another site, and I am not the author****
I notice your nice little disclaimer on the bottom. So do you believe this or did you fact check it before you posted it here and on other places on the DIS?

All truths here, No lies at all!

Really? Here are two:

He wasn't shocked that a farmer knew about Burma. He was surprised to be asked about it by a farmer, as opposed to be asked about something a little closer to home.

"Everyone supporting him is a politician"? Really? So the millions of people that have voted for him are all in politics? The 1.3 Million that have donated to his campaign are all politicians? The endorsements he's gotten from millions in trade unions across the country are all from politicians?

Yes, you lied to the woman.

Having since fact checked it, is is a misleading article. Factually, it's correct, but it spins things drastically in Obama's favor. That's why I posted the "little disclaimer".

Maybe you should take on the task of educating wvrevy? ;)

Wow...more insults. Now I remember why I stopped reading this thread. You guys have fun. :thumbsup2

Which part is factually correct? That Obama and Clinton are running for President?

http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/substance_abuse.html

We find that the e-mail is false in almost every particular:

* It sets up a face-off between apples and, well, broccoli, comparing only the Clinton-sponsored bills that became law with all bills sponsored or cosponsored by Obama, whether they were signed into law or not.

* It includes legislation Obama sponsored in the Illinois state Senate, a very different legislative body.

* It tells us that Obama has sponsored more legislation than Clinton, when in fact he has sponsored less.

* It implies that Obama has passed more bills into law than Clinton, when the opposite is true.

Contrary to the e-mail's assertions, Clinton's and Obama's contributions are not qualitatively different, and quantitatively, Clinton has the edge.

As I said, the article is misleading. All of the things it states are true (Obama did pass those laws in the Illinois Senate, and has sponsored the number of bills it states, as Clinton has sponsored the number of laws it states). It just does so in such a misleading manner. I agree with what you are saying, here, and think that factcheck (where I also read about it after posting) put it well by saying it was comparing apples to something not fruit-like. :teeth: I shouldn't have posted the e-mail without fact-checking it first.

Oh, did just see this article, though, about the claim DISUNC made about how nobody from Obama's past supports him:

http://www.usnews.com/usnews/news/articles/070826/3obama.htm

Going back to my own thread now. Like I said...you guys have fun. :thumbsup2

Great...you come to this thread and call a long-time poster a liar and then complain that someone insulted you.

Maybe you should take on the task of educating wvrevy? ;)

Okay who left the door open...:rotfl2:

No educating because when you know it all .... :rolleyes1 By the way we are nice enough to stay out of there thread and comment on there stuff because we have realized....Why bother :confused3 who needs the aggravation or possible points...there reasoning is that well it's a free world we can go where ever we want....true but why start trouble with insults when ya get there.

an opinion is an opinion and opinionated is opinionated ..at least that's what my Dad always said

So about McCain.....he is going up in the polls...as well as we can believe that the polls are accurate. Why do you think this. He has not shown me anything new to make me think that he is talking more issues. He seems to go around in circles and he for the most part only talks about his career in the military and his POW status.

What do you think?
