Hillary supporters Unit #3 ..yes we are still here!

Speak for yourself.
Even though I will NO WAY vote for Obama and yep, I think he is sleazy, I know that is MY personal opinion.

If punkin, Planogirl and even Got Disney votes for Obama I respect them for their choice since I believe voting is a PERSONAL choice.
I would never tell them they are making a stupid mistake by voting for Obama, although I do not agree with their decision.
They have reasons for voting for him (pro choice for example) and I have my reasons for NOT voting for him. I agree to disagree. I know some HS don't like McCain, fine...no skin off my back. Just like some know I don't like Obama.
What does it matter to you personally if someone doesn't like Obama?
I just don't get it? Talk about not respecting someone because they don't agree with you.

The thing about THIS thread is we all know how Hillary was treated in the primaries, we know how WE were called racist and not true Democrats because we didn't throw our loving support behind Obama. I think all the regulars on this thread respect each other.
It seems like it is ALWAYS the OS who come on here and try to start things and cause problems :rolleyes1

What don't you guys don't understand? Hillary is NOT running for President anymore, what McCain would or would not do is a MOOT point!
I will never vote for Obama because of reasons I have mention time and time again.....why don't you RESPECT MY opinion???? There is nothing you can say or do at this point that will change my vote. I made it, it's done and over...I will be voting for McCain in November & hope he wins the election :thumbsup2

Am I attacking you for voting for McCain? Am I here bashing McCain? No.

There is a big difference between asking you to throw love and respect Obama's way and asking why some of you don't lay off the Obama bashing out of respect for your fellow HS who are now voting Democratic.

If YOU don't like what is being said then just don't open this thread. Pretty simple actually :confused3

If you are so upset by what I'm saying why don't you use the ignore button?

And I read this thread because I appreciate the views of the HS who have decided to vote for Obama.

Again if YOU don't like it then you don't have to open this thread.

It seems like YOU are the only one complaining :confused3

This is a HS thread you know you will get people for Obama, people for McCain and people who just are tired of them both and not vote for anyone and yep, I even expect some bashing here and there.

Btw--I have really never seen over the top bashing on this thread about Obama or McCain. Sure some but compared to what I saw during the primaries on the Obama thread bashing Hillary...this "bashing" is nothing.

Sure some people on here have decided to vote for Obama and some have decided to vote for McCain but one thing is most of the regulars can agree on this thread is BOTH candidates stink & whoever gets voted to the White House will hopefully only be a one term president.

You've been working this thread for their vote for a looonnngg time. I'm sure you do appreciate it! :duck:

Fine if you want to read, then read but you may not always like what you read.

Touche. Of course, since you would never vote for Hillary even if she ran against Satan - I'm going to assume that's is why and your fellow con-thread posters frequent this thread as well -to get their vote.
I dont trust what the press has to say anymore...mostly since they kept saying that Hillary was lying. There is so much between the 2 of them as far as I can see they are both stretching the truth and I am so tired of it. Obama is just as bad as McCain and has since the beginning of this election.

There is no way I will vote for Obama at all. I decided that today. However that does not mean that I will vote McCain either...even though I am leaning his way.

We do still have the debates to help me change that either way. Tell me what made you turn to Obama so much besides Biden who I know you liked....take away McCain and take away Palin...why is it that you are now so for Obama when before you were so not...maybe it will spark me :confused3

nice to see you in here ......miss your articles.......:thumbsup2
This was my thought process (simplified).

1. Backed Hillary, based on her stance on issues and her experience.
2. Donated to her cause, voted for her, and hoped she'd win the nomination and select Obama as her running mate.
3. Obama won. I flirted voting for McCain for about a week and researched. Came to the conclusion that McCain will equal 4 more years of Bush. I happen to believe that Bush is the worst president in my lifetime.
4. Started to listen to Obama, himself, not the noise from supporters. Listened to Hillary's brilliant concession speech. Thought about it for a while.
5. Obama chose Joe Biden. Joe Biden is extremely qualified to become President if something were to happen to Obama. Biden will also be a full partner in the administration. He's got oodles of foreign policy experience.
6. Decided to vote for Obama based on the issues. He will try to direct domestic legislation to his platform - Hillary will be in the Senate helping this along. He will change our foreign policy for the better.
7. The Democratic National Convention cinched it for me.

I'm sorry you're having such trouble with your vote. All I ask is for you to really think about it - and try to envision a third term of Bush Administration policies, and four more years of the Republican party - taken over by religious extremists - trying to dismantle Roe v. Wade. That truly is their ultimate goal. That and no more taxes (like that will ever happen with this deficit we have.......)

I can't in good conscious vote for that. I know some of you can. That's the way it is.

Fine if you want to read, then read but you may not always like what you read.

I asked a simple question -- why not show respect to the HS who are now OS by keeping comments for your candidate positive? Not exactly rife with emotion.

However, if you serioulsy don't want me to play in your reindeer games on this thread, I'll keep that in mind. I realize I have not always been respectful on this thread and I will not go there again -- but at the end of the day, it's a public forum.

And I have never, ever said one bad thing about Hillary on this thread or any thread. Should McCain win and she run again in 2012 - I will be supporting her.

I am one of the HS that is now VERY GRUDGINGLY casting my vote for Obama. I had planned on voting Green in protest, However, since JM decided to toss a bone to the rr by choosing freakin' Palin as his running mate - I am left with no other choice but to choose the lesser of two stinky, disgusting BAD choices. Just because I have decided to give the man my vote, does not mean I have jumped aboard the love train - so I do not feel disrespected in the least.

Feel free to come over here anytime to see what we are saying, feel free to throw in your opinion whenever you feel moved to do so. But maybe you could lay off the need to tell us how we should all behave, think, post etc...?

I'll give you the respect you sorely lack in your response. I don't try to get the HS vote. Never have, never will. Voting is such a personal thing. I'm not going there. I did agree with the HS about their treatment of Hillary. It was awful. Now the media and extreme Obama supporters are doing the same to McCain and Sarah Palin. BTW, I read a lot of threads to gain perspective. I hardly ever post on this one and many others.

I think it is safe to say I would vote for Hillary before Satan.

Well, it seems to me that if that is the case, most of them seem to be using the "honey" approach. Whereas, "vinegar" looks like the MO of many OS.

Just posting an example of McCain's tactics in trying to win this election at all costs. I am giving serious credence to the belief that he knows he can't win on the issues, so dirty politics is all he has left. Sad to see from someone who claimed to be all about his country first (which was why I flirted with him in the beginning).

And yes, I was one of the ones who dreaded Republican ads against Obama during the primaries - but let's face it, if Hillary had won - we'd be seeing probably worse ads about her - because they'd bring Bill in along for the ride too.......

Take a look - its only 3 minutes long.

Disclaimer - this is not to try to sway anyone's vote in any way. I personally feel Obama has the majority of the Hillary vote, especially since the Palin pick - he needs to focus on those pesky independents who make their mind up late in the game....

Do you live in a hotly contested state? I am wondering because I cannot see an upside to me voting for either "of two stinky, disgusting BAD choices" and I would frankly rather not pull that lever for either of them. My circumstances allow me that freedom.

I am in FL. Right now JM is leading in the polls. Because polling seems to be so notoriously wrong these last few elections, I think I will be voting BO. My mom and dad are in CO. We are all in the same boat.

If there is something about Obama I don't like, Rev Wright, Michelle, Rezko, lack of experience, Chicago politics, flip flops, Ayers, then like you said this is a public forum. I will voice my opinions & yes, concerns about Obama.
NOw I would never go on the Obama thread voicing my concerns, reason because first because I know you all on that thread have pretty much made your decision and I respect that and second I would not want to get eaten alive! ;) (a little humor)

I have no problem with people saying McCain is another 4 years of Bush, although I personally do not agree with that. I don't get bent out of shape when others say it. I don't get bent out of shape when someone posts an article about McCain that may not show him in the best light. It's their opinion & again I respect that.

She was and still is treated horribly by your party.

I can certainly understand your reasoning. Thankfully, there is no way my state will go for McCain, so I am free to vote my conscience.

She was and still is treated horribly by your party.

I've been so astounded by the horrible treatment from her own party and the media it trumps all else. I haven't seen anything like it. :sad2:

Seriously I don't see how that is any different then any other election or even Obama's ads. All polictial ads are full of half truths, always have been and always will be.
Sure it would be nice if that wasn't the case, but I don't see it changing.

It's up to the American public to sort out the half truths garbage. Of course I know must don't and they do listen to a 30 second ad, but you can't do nothing about those people.

I don't think McCain's or Obama's ads have been all that bad (YET!) Of course honestly we haven't seen a whole lot of them here (YET) and the ones I have seen have been pretty mellow, IMO
We have been seeing more Senate ads between Franken and Coleman. Now you want to see sleazy, full of half truths ads check out both Franken's AND Coleman's and they are on during EVERY commerical break! :scared1:
