Hijinks & Shenanigans but not much Mayhem@The Dark Side+Disney:Link to DL/Hawaii TR

Spoiler Alert: We were NOT upgraded to a suite (as indicated above), but we aint complaining!!! I just had to post this Jumble!

The ride to the Beach Club was uneventful- not a Magical Express, but not bad at all.

I was excited as we approached:

http://s657.photobucket.com/user/natebenma/media/Hijinks Trip Report/Disney/P1160063.jpg.html

And then my anticipation ramped up as we passed signs that said EPCOT RESORTS

http://s657.photobucket.com/user/natebenma/media/Beach Club 2013/P1160064.jpg.html

I have mentioned this earlier in this report and on the Beach Club FAQ board. This was my first trip back to the Beach Club since I volunteered to manage that forum. As I told Mark when we arrived, Although I 'visit' this resort every day, today I am actually here! It was surreal!

http://s657.photobucket.com/user/natebenma/media/Hijinks Trip Report/P1170243.jpg.html

Now this is the part of the report where normally I would give an overview of the resort and post pictures of the lobby, restaurants, grounds, pool, etc. but I am not going to do that for a couple of reasons:

1) I still have not organized all of my Beach Club Photos
2) There is already a place where you can get all of that information ;)

We were brought up to the 5th floor to check-in.

http://s657.photobucket.com/user/natebenma/media/Beach Club 2013/P1160065.jpg.html

I spy with my little eye a string bag with a customized Beach Club Resort button!

http://s657.photobucket.com/user/natebenma/media/Beach Club 2013/P1160067.jpg.html

My requests had been for a full balcony, please and a daybed, if possible. We didnt need one but Nate prefers his own bed to sharing one with his brother. CL CM Vilma informed us that we had a room with an extra-large balcony, daybed and, score, a water view! We had booked a garden view, but we were magically upgraded! I told Vilma that I was close to crying tears of joy when she described our room!

The boys went to get snacks and drinks while Mark and I checked in.

Can you all picture me sitting on my hands and biting my tongue as Vilma is telling me all about the Beach Club???

Our room was ready :woohoo: so we decided to dump our carry-ons and check it out. The room was a pretty distant walk from the lounge, down a second corridor, but it was a great location and very quiet.

Next Up: Check Out Our Room!!!

.

Woohoo. Great report Dee!

If you look on your first picture, up at the balcony on the top floor with the crap it, that's OUR crap.....I mean our lovely wet water gear drying out! Wait, when did you check in? Wednesday? Then it might be Joel, Jay and Amy's beach towels from their day at Cocoa Beach.

I'm so excited to read about your time at BC!

Now that is funny!!!

Whew! I was behind again. Way to get your money's worth out of the Universal Photo-whatever-the-proper-name is. :thumbsup2

Wow! Your Beach club room is beautiful and that view is amazing!

Room 5709 is the one in the middle under the triangular peak, below the semi-circular window.

http://s657.photobucket.com/user/natebenma/media/Beach Club 2013/Room 5709/P1170546.jpg.html

We had a door leading out to the balcony, which I prefer to the sliders. I am not coordinated enough to manage the curtains, a sliding door, my coffee, camera and book/notebook at 4:30 am when I am trying not to wake my roommates.

And how was the view???

Well, I took over 100 pictures from the balcony on this trip!!!

Here are just a few.

Extra-large balcony:

Continued in Next Post

Dee I am soooo happy you got such a great room!!! What else for the prime minister of the BC. Lol

Love all your pictures and can hardly wait to experience it all for the first time!!

Is it pathetic that your pictures make me weepy! Lol.

Oh my Gosh! What a gorgeous view! I especially love the night time shots over the pool! Drool, drool!
I love the decor in the room, especially the Mickey chillin' on the lifeguard stand lamp. (Pretty sure that's the technical name) Very Cute!! I want one for my house!

I forgot to post the comic for this group of posts. There's no room in the first two posts, so I added this to the last one with the morning/night shots:

Love it Dee. One of my favorite parts of any trip is when we finally enter the room that will be our home for the next few days I have to tell a tired traveling crew to "Stop right there. I have to take pictures of the room"!

We had Stella on our one of our BC trips. She is the best and such a sweet lady.

Especially this trip. I have had a picture of the beds in the Beach Club post on Page 1 of the FAQ that has my son's leg in in for over 3 years. I can replace that now!!!

No complaints about Stella.

:goodvibes

I thought that towel was a bunny, but my second thought was a little joey kangaroo poking out of his moms pouch.

Wow, beautiful room! Glad you got your requests, that balcony is really great, what a view. How calming it would be to just sit out there I. The pouring rain with no one else up! I would love that!
I've seen BC pictures before but not too many, so thanks for sharing yours, it really is gorgeous!

I can't remember if anyone on the FAQ guessed bunny. Maybe Teena?

It was an AWESOME room!!! I was in heaven!

If you ever need to fill your fix of pictures of the Beach Club, come on over to the FAQ thread. It truly is one of the happiest, friendliest, funniest threads on the DIS!!!

:thumbsup2

What a great view!! I guess you never had to wonder how crowded SAB was before heading down. I would love that!

I wasn't surprised at all how many pics you took of the view. That would be something I'd do too. Lol. My DH is not amazed anymore that in a week I can take close to 1000 pics.

The noise from SAB wasn't bad either. You could hear people and one afternoon there was a young girl screaming bloody murder for a very long time. I think she was actually happy but boy were those some shrieks!!! It cracked us up.

Never bothered by noise at night from the pool.

I took so many pictures on this trip- for personal and business purposes!!!

It has never taken me this long to go through and organize pictures from a trip!

:rotfl2:

Nice room. Thank you for the tour.

I still find it so strange that the room safes use a key. Just so odd and kind of annoying.

HAHA. I think that towel on the hanger looks like a chicken or turkey ready for cooking.

Ahhh, nice view.

Oh God, the early morning shots are heavenly. I've never been to Beach Club, but I do so love the early morning vibe.

I hope they switch the safes to a keypad entry when they refurb the rooms this year.

That's funny! Are you a "Beer Can Chicken" chef?

Poor Mousekeeper. We didn't have any sunglasses out for her to use to accessorize the animals.

The view, and the Beach Club, were both incredible!

:goodvibes

But, as you can see from the picture of the closet, we did have robes!

;)

Whew! I was behind again. Way to get your money's worth out of the Universal Photo-whatever-the-proper-name is. :thumbsup2

Wow! Your Beach club room is beautiful and that view is amazing!

We sure did get our money's worth from the Photo Connect. It is really a bargain compared to Disney's Photopass Plus!

Thanks! I loved that view!!! So many great things to look at- all the different corners of the pool, the Boardwalk, the slide...

:woohoo:

Woohoo. Great report Dee!

Thanks so much!!! :)

Now that is funny!!!(Catho72 spotting her family's drying towels in my picture)

::yes::

Dee I am soooo happy you got such a great room!!! What else for the prime minister of the BC. Lol

Thanks, again!!! Glad you enjoyed the pictures and I'm excited for your upcoming trip, too!

:goodvibes

Awesome Pictures! Glad you recieved great towel figures...no infamous ones! :rotfl2:

Thanks!

Yes, we were glad none of our towel animals needed to censored.

:lmao:

Now we're even!!! I am envious of your view at the other BC!

For those of you not following tiggerfan77's report- her room at Bonnet Creek had an AMAZING view of EPCOT and HS, and the sunset and fireworks pictures she posted are stunning!

Pretty sure you can buy that lamp!!! There is (or was) a catalog of room décor items for purchase at the Beach Club and possibly other Disney resorts.

:goodvibes

Love your pics Dee! The last picture of your balcony view.....the end room with the super duper long balcony was my sister-in-law's room. Glad I didn't see any of her dirty laundry hanging out! Lord knows what HER dirty laundry would look like....also glad she wasn't smooching with her fiancée in the pic! Is it sad that I'm looking for our family frolicking at SAB in your pics? ;)

SAB at night is gorgeous!

If you sat on your balcony during SAB's operating hours, was it loud?

Your room was exactly like ours (but ours didn't have the magnificent SAB view....but it was nice seeing SE from ours!).

I'm also trying to see Johnny Depp hiding in your closet...or under a bed....since you smuggled him out of the hot tub....oh wait....that was Nannette!

Oh, and my first thought on that towel animal strung up on a hanger was a chicken...minus the head....kind of like an oven roaster! :)

Love those views Dee and I bet you are happy now you have a room pic minus son's leg for the FAQ thread ;)
I agree with Nate on the towel animal-platypus for sure :)
Sitting here looking out at this drizzly wet morning wishing I was on your balcony - sigh! Love early morning on the balcony watching the world wake up :goodvibes

I'm going with duck, too! Why? Because there are ducks all over the BC. Just makes sense.

WOW WOW WOW to the room view! Absolutely perfect. Thanks for posting so many pictures. They are lovely! I really like the storm picture followed by the clearing. It's lovely!

Very pretty room on the inside, too. I would love to someday be able to stay in one of the inn rooms at the BC or BW. I think they are both so lovely. But, alas, the down side of DVC. *sigh* what a hardship! :rotfl2:

So glad you are all settled in!

Thanks for the shout-out Dee! I know I'm still a newbie on The DIS. I still think you won since your view was closer!:rotfl2:

From what you said, it sounds like your SIL had an awesome room!!!

Not sad that you are looking for your family in my pictures of SAB. What is really sad is that I know my family is not in any of yours! I was the only one who used the pool! Pitiful! :sad2:

I responded to someone else about the noise- not bothersome at all. There was one afternoon that a girl was screaming bloody murder for a long, long time. But I think it was actually screams of delight. Never heard any noise from the pool, hallways or neighbors in the evenings.

I'm glad I have the picture, just wish I had the time to add this one, and a whole lot more, to the thread!

:)

I wish I was there too! I would totally share with you!

I loved that view! So many things to look at. So pretty all times of day.

I know that Florida rain showers can be quick, but I was totally amazed at how hard it was raining one minute and then how quickly it cleared into a beautiful morning.

I hope you get to stay at one of the resorts, BW or BC or YC sometime in your Disney travels. But you way is not so bad, either!

We were settled in, but not for too long. We had a kingdom to visit.

:goodvibes

No problem!

Your view rocked! I was totally blown away by how great the view(s) from our room were.

Just to keep things interesting and confusing...

I am continuing with the Universal portion of my trip, which I am posting over on the Universal TR board. I'll post links here as I post them, but probably when I am done with my Disney chapters I will repost those sections in their entirety.

So you can read now, read later, or not at all!!! :lmao:

Here are the chapters on Men in Black and Revenge of the Mummy.

"Men (Women & Children) in Black"

It's A Wrap!

Sometime over the weekend, I'll write another chapter about our afternoon at MK.

.

:lmao:Love the pic of u sleeping on MIB :rotfl:
Have to say I adore this ride ( don't get the need for lockers either :confused3)
Looks like you and Mark were having a blast in the last photo :goodvibes
Certainly seems like the photo package is great value :thumbsup2

I've never ridden the Mummy ride but judging by your comments and photos it's definitely worth a go. Ben's expressions are priceless in some of those pics :cool1:

Wish I had thought of more poses before the trip!

MIB is the only ride we have had to use a locker for- last trip because we had a souvenir butter beer cup. This trip we were Locker Free!!! :rotfl:

Mummy  Mummy!

:thumbsup2

Joining in finally!

:welcome:

So glad to have you here!

:goodvibes

You were sleeping on MIB? REally? :rotfl2: My kids loved that ride, but after two times I was done. I just waited outside.

Love Revenge of the Mummy. We got stuck on it on our very last ride before leaving for the airport. I remember it well because I closed the bar over my leg too tight. I remember just sitting there thinking "how will I last if we are stuck for a long time. I can't move". When we got off they gave us "FP's" or whatever they are called. I tried to give our aways to a family of four and the mom completely went hysterical screaming "We are NEVER going on the ride again. NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!" It was crazy! :rotfl2:
